YouTube’s published policies do not categorically bar continuous livestreams of prerecorded material. Monetization depends on whether the channel is accepted into the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and whether its content meets YouTube’s originality and authenticity requirements. A repetitive or mass-produced loop with little added value may be ineligible, and approval is never guaranteed.
Does YouTube allow monetized 24/7 prerecorded loops?
YouTube’s published channel monetization policy does not set a pass/fail rule based solely on a livestream’s duration or on whether it loops prerecorded material. It does apply its monetization policies to live streams, including expectations that eligible content be original and authentic. The policy does not publish a specific 24/7-loop exception, maximum loop duration, or approval rate, so the outcome is channel-specific—not a promise that any particular loop will be monetized. YouTube renamed its former “repetitious content” policy to “inauthentic content” effective July 15, 2025, clarifying that repetitive or mass-produced material falls within its existing originality requirements. YouTube says the reused-content policy did not change. In a July 10, 2025 response, TeamYouTube said: “This content has always been ineligible for monetization, as we’ve always required content to be original and authentic for YPP.” TeamYouTube’s July 2025 response

What makes a looping livestream more or less eligible?
These considerations reflect YouTube’s policy principles; they are not a checklist that guarantees approval.

Originality and authorship
Consider whether you created the footage, audio, and presentation, and whether the channel gives viewers and reviewers a clear sense of your contribution. A stream made from your own original work is different from a generic loop assembled from material with little evidence of authorship or creative input.
Meaningful variation and value
YouTube identifies repetitive videos with little educational value or variation, and templated material with little or no narrative, commentary, or educational value, as examples that may not qualify. Ask whether the stream provides ongoing creative, educational, or entertainment value—or whether it mainly repeats the same material without meaningful contribution.

Third-party material and reused content
Copyright permission and monetization eligibility are separate questions. YouTube says reused content may violate its monetization policy even when the creator has permission, if the creator has not added significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. Permission alone therefore does not settle whether a loop qualifies.
The channel as a whole
YPP review is not limited to one stream. YouTube says reviewers may consider a channel’s main theme, most-viewed and newest videos, share of watch time, metadata, and About section. A single loop is only one possible part of that broader channel review. YouTube channel monetization policies

What must be in place before a live stream can earn?
- Be accepted into YPP. Meeting the originality standard alone does not enroll a channel. You must be accepted into the program and follow YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
- Accept the relevant monetization module. Watch Page ad and YouTube Premium revenue from long-form videos and live streams requires acceptance of the Watch Page Monetization Module. YouTube’s monetization options
- Enable monetization for the stream. YouTube lists ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships as possible ways to earn from livestreams, where the channel and feature qualify. For monetized live streams, pre-roll and display ads are automatically enabled when monetization is on; mid-roll ads can be automatic or manually controlled. YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance
Does turning on ads mean every viewer sees one?
No. YouTube’s ad systems decide whether eligible ad slots serve; YouTube states, “Ad slots are not guaranteed to serve ads.” Enabling monetization or choosing a mid-roll setting does not guarantee an ad for each viewer or each slot. YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance
YouTube reports that creators who chose live automatic mid-rolls saw, on average, over 20% uplift in instream ad revenue per hour compared with channels that did not turn on the feature. YouTube says this comparison covered 207 countries in January 2024. It is a platform-wide comparison about an ad setting—not evidence that a 24/7 prerecorded loop is eligible for monetization or will earn a particular amount. Practical questions to ask about your loop
- Can you clearly explain who created the footage, audio, and presentation?
- Does the stream add meaningful creative, educational, or entertainment value rather than simply repeat generic material?
- If you use other people’s material, have you made substantive changes or added meaningful commentary or value—and do you have the necessary rights? Rights do not by themselves ensure monetization eligibility.
- Does the channel’s theme, uploads, metadata, and About section make its original contribution clear?
These questions can help you assess policy risk, but YouTube’s published materials do not define a loop-specific duration threshold or guarantee an individual channel’s result. No official approval or rejection statistic for 24/7 prerecorded loops is established in the cited materials.

Keep a YouTube loop running without leaving a computer on
If you have already decided to run a prerecorded stream, the streaming setup is separate from its monetization eligibility. StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the upload from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only; using it does not change YouTube’s monetization rules or guarantee YPP approval. See StreamNeo.
Every slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team.
