Among Us has mobile controller support, a feature Innersloth announced in June 2021. That does not mean every gamepad works with every iPhone or Android phone: Innersloth’s public pages do not provide a current list of compatible controllers or a complete mobile button map.
What mobile controller support means
Innersloth’s June 16, 2021 update announcement listed “Mobile controller support” among the released features. This confirms that controller play is built into the mobile game; it is not just a capability of the phone’s operating system or a feature that requires a third-party workaround. The current official game page describes cross-platform play among PC, Switch, Android, and iOS. It lists keyboard, mouse, and touchscreen inputs, but does not name compatible mobile controllers or explain how a gamepad’s buttons map to mobile actions. A 2025 patch note also mentions a fix for a controller-related role-selection highlight issue in the How to Play menu; that does not certify particular phone-and-controller combinations. Will your controller work with your phone?
That depends on the particular controller, phone, operating system, and current game version. The official materials establish that mobile controller support exists, but they do not provide a compatibility matrix or guarantee that every Bluetooth gamepad will work. Check the controller maker’s compatibility details for your phone, then confirm that the game recognizes the controller before relying on it. If you are buying one, review the seller’s return policy in case the combination does not work as expected.

What to know before trying or buying one
- A controller is optional; the official game page lists touchscreen input for mobile.
- There is no official, current mobile button map in the cited game materials, so do not assume a particular control layout.
- You do not need to start with an unofficial remapping app or APK: Innersloth announced mobile support as a game feature.
- If you want to shop, look for a Bluetooth mobile game controller whose maker explicitly lists your phone and operating system as supported. Treat that as a starting point, not a guarantee for Among Us, and check the return terms.
