Yes. Two-step verification protects sign-in to your Google Account; it is not, by itself, a YouTube Live restriction. A cloud service still needs an authorized way to send a broadcast to your channel, and the channel must be eligible to livestream. The exact connection method depends on the service: Google’s YouTube Live API uses OAuth 2.0, while StreamNeo says its setup uses your YouTube stream key.
Why two-step verification usually does not prevent cloud streaming
Two-step verification (also called 2-Step Verification) can require an additional step when you sign in to your Google Account. A livestreaming service’s connection to YouTube is a separate matter: it must be authorized to broadcast to the selected channel. Google’s documentation for the YouTube Live API describes OAuth 2.0 authorization for private user data and says a channel must be approved for YouTube Live. It does not identify two-step verification as a reason a channel cannot livestream. The conclusion that the two are compatible is based on this distinction, not on a test of every service or account.

Check the channel and connection method
- Confirm the channel can livestream. Make sure YouTube Live is available for the channel and that you can start a livestream. A cloud service cannot replace YouTube’s channel eligibility or authorization requirements.
- Identify how the service connects. An OAuth flow asks you to authorize access through Google. A stream-key setup asks you to provide the YouTube stream key. These are different connection methods; follow the service’s current official setup instructions.
- Check the account and channel shown. If Google presents an authorization screen, confirm you are signing in with the right Google Account and selecting the intended YouTube channel.
- Review permissions before approving. Grant access only to a provider you trust and only after reading what it is requesting. Google’s guidance is explicit: “Do not share your Google Account password on a third-party app.”
- Start the broadcast and check YouTube. If setup succeeds, confirm the broadcast is going to the intended channel. Keep the stream key private; if you believe it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube and update the service that uses it.
For Google’s advice on reviewing third-party access, see Share some access to your Google Account data with apps from other developers. For the API’s authorization and channel requirements, see YouTube Live Streaming API: Getting Started.
OAuth and stream keys are not the same
With OAuth, you authorize an app through Google and should inspect the requested permissions before granting them. With a stream key, the service uses the key to send video to the YouTube channel associated with it; the setup does not mean the service has signed in to your Google Account with your password. Protect the key as a credential and use the provider’s official instructions. StreamNeo describes its workflow as adding the YouTube stream key once, then starting the cloud broadcast; that is StreamNeo’s stated setup, not a claim about how all cloud services work.

If setup or the broadcast fails
- Google authorization fails: Check that you are using the Google Account with access to the intended channel, review the requested permissions, and follow the provider’s official troubleshooting steps.
- The channel cannot start a live broadcast: Check YouTube Live eligibility and channel approval. A service connection cannot bypass YouTube’s requirements.
- The service connects to the wrong channel: Recheck the Google Account and channel selection in the authorization flow, or verify that you supplied the stream key for the intended channel.
- A service asks for your Google password directly: Stop and check its official documentation rather than entering your password into an untrusted third-party page. Google recommends Sign in with Google when available and describes App Passwords as a less secure alternative for cases where that sign-in option is unavailable. See Sign in with app passwords.
- You are unsure whether two-step verification caused the error: The available Google and StreamNeo documentation does not identify two-step verification itself as the cause. Check channel eligibility, permissions, account selection, and the service’s connection method before changing account security settings.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo says you upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and start the broadcast. Its cloud runs the uploaded video, so your computer does not have to stay on at home. StreamNeo states that uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card required. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube; it does not go live from a camera. See StreamNeo for its setup details, or start your free first day.
