Yes—some smart TVs work with Bluetooth keyboards, but support depends on the TV’s exact model and software. Before buying a keyboard, check the manufacturer’s manual or support page for your full model number and confirm that it supports Bluetooth input devices—not just Bluetooth audio.
Check compatibility before you buy
Bluetooth support alone does not guarantee that a TV can pair with a keyboard. Manufacturers limit keyboard input by model, and an input device may work in some menus or apps but not others. LG notes that some apps do not accept keyboard input. Check your TV’s manual or support page using its full model number, and look for keyboard or input-device support specifically.

For supported LG TVs, LG lists the Logitech K480, Arteck HB030B and HB192, and Apple Magic Keyboard as examples. These are not universal recommendations: confirm that the specific TV supports the keyboard. Samsung likewise warns that support for Bluetooth or USB keyboards varies by model and region.
Pair a keyboard with your TV
First, switch the keyboard into Bluetooth pairing mode and keep it near the TV. Then open the TV’s Bluetooth or input-device settings. Menu names depend on the manufacturer, model year, and software version.

LG webOS
On some LG models, open Settings → All Settings → General → External Devices → Connect Bluetooth Controller. Older versions may place the option under Connection or Device Connection Settings. Follow the on-screen prompt to select the keyboard. LG’s Bluetooth keyboard instructions apply only to supported models; use your model’s own documentation to confirm the menu and compatibility. Samsung TVs
Depending on the Samsung TV generation, look for Keyboard Manager or Input Device Manager in the settings. Select the option to add or pair a Bluetooth keyboard, then follow the prompts. Samsung’s steps and availability vary by model and region, so check the manual for your set. The guidance is available from Samsung Gulf Support and Samsung Australia Support.

Google TV and Android TV
For Google TV, the general accessory path is Settings → Remote and accessories → Pair remote or accessory. Put the keyboard in pairing mode, select it when it appears, and confirm Pair. Google’s instructions cover Bluetooth accessories generally; they do not promise that every Google TV or Android TV device supports keyboards. Confirm keyboard support with your TV’s manufacturer. If Bluetooth pairing fails
- Check the TV documentation again to confirm Bluetooth keyboard support; Bluetooth audio support is not enough.
- Make sure the keyboard is in pairing mode and close to the TV.
- Disconnect unused paired accessories and retry. Google recommends this step for Google TV connection problems.
- Restart the keyboard. If pairing still fails, power-cycle the TV and try again.
- After pairing, test the keyboard in the menu or app where you intend to type. An app may not accept keyboard input even when the keyboard connects.
Alternatives: USB keyboard or phone remote
If your TV supports USB input, try a wired USB keyboard or a wireless keyboard that uses a USB receiver. The receiver plugs into an available USB port, but support still depends on the TV. LG and Samsung both describe USB keyboard connections for supported models; consult the relevant manufacturer guidance before relying on this option.

For a Bluetooth keyboard for a compatible smart TV, choose a model only after checking your TV’s supported keyboard list or manual. If Bluetooth input is not supported, a USB keyboard alternative may work—but verify USB input support too.
