No. Milestone’s latest listed PS5 update for Screamer does not say it adds an option to turn off right-stick drifting. The official game description says the right stick is used to drift, while the PlayStation Store listing documents customizable controls and adjustable stick sensitivity—but not a dedicated right-stick disable switch.
What the latest Screamer update changes
Milestone’s game page lists its latest update as dated August 31, 2026. The notes cover character balancing, a first-boot menu change, steering-wheel force-feedback behavior, and console responsiveness. They do not mention right-stick drifting or a new setting to disable the right stick. Milestone’s Screamer page and its patch notes are the sources for those details.

The August notes say Aisha’s ability now recharges after 45 seconds. That is one of the listed balance changes, not evidence of a change to the drift controls. An earlier Milestone patch article dated April 7, 2026 lists PS5 version 01.003.000; that version number belongs to the earlier patch, not the August update. Milestone’s April 7 patch article

Milestone describes the game’s Twin Stick system this way: “steer with the left stick, drift with the right.” So in this context, “right-stick drifting” means the game action assigned to the right stick—not necessarily a controller that is registering movement when untouched. - Haptic feedback - Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions with dual actuators which replace traditional rumble motors. In your hands, these dynamic vibrations can simulate the feeling of everything from environments to the recoil of different weapons. .Operating temperature : 41 °F to 95 °F (5 °C to 35 °C)
- Adaptive triggers - Experience varying levels of force and tension as you interact with your in-game gear and environments. From pulling back an increasingly tight bowstring to hitting the brakes on a speeding car, feel physically connected to your on-screen actions.
- Built-in microphone and headset jack - Chat with friends online using the built-in microphone or by connecting a headset to the 3.5mm jack. Easily switch voice capture on and off at a moment’s notice with the dedicated mute button. Internet and account for PlayStation Network required.
- DualSense Controller PS5 and PC compatible. Not compatible with PS4.
- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
What control options are documented
The US English PlayStation Store listing for Screamer on PS5 says players can fully customize controls and adjust horizontal and vertical sensitivity for each stick. Those options may help with a control layout or input that feels uncomfortable, but the listing does not establish that sensitivity adjustment disables drifting. Nor do the official sources reviewed confirm a specific settings path or that remapping can remove the action in every mode. PlayStation Store listing
Milestone’s accessibility article, published July 14, 2026, also lists full control remapping, one-handed controls, mouse and keyboard support on console, adjustable offline gameplay speed, text and readability options, color options, subtitles, and audio options. It does not specifically say that players can disable the right-stick drift action. Milestone’s accessibility article

In-game drifting is not the same as DualSense stick drift
If you mean that Screamer makes the car drift when you use the right stick, that is the game’s documented control scheme. If your DualSense registers input while the stick is untouched, that is a separate controller-input problem. Milestone’s August update does not claim to repair controller hardware, and the game’s control description is not a diagnosis of a controller. The cited sources do not establish a fix for physical stick drift.
What to do if the control feels wrong
- For an unwanted in-game layout or overly sensitive input, consult the game’s control-remapping and stick-sensitivity options. The available official descriptions do not verify the exact menu path or a guaranteed way to disable drifting.
- If the controller registers movement without being touched, do not treat the August game update as a hardware fix; it does not claim to address that issue.
Screamer is a Milestone PS5 racing game released March 26, 2026. The cited PlayStation Store page is the US English listing; storefront information, availability, and pricing can vary by region and change. Milestone game page
