A PC without a separate graphics card may still have graphics built into its processor. Steam’s published minimum requirement for Batman: Arkham Knight names a GeForce GTX 660 with 2 GB or Radeon HD 7870 with 2 GB, while Intel warns that the game can crash at launch on Intel graphics and may run at very low performance if it does load. Whether it works on your PC depends on its exact graphics processor and configuration.
What “without a graphics card” means
People often use “graphics card” to mean a separate, dedicated card installed in a PC. A computer without one may still render graphics using an integrated GPU built into its processor. To assess Arkham Knight, identify the graphics hardware the game would actually use; the absence of a separate card does not, by itself, mean there is no GPU.

What the published PC requirements specify
Steam lists discrete graphics cards in both its minimum and recommended requirements. These specifications are the publisher’s stated hardware targets, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or experience.

Steam also notes that its client supports Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024. The older Windows versions shown in the game listing should not be read as a definitive statement about current Windows compatibility. Steam’s game technical-issues page and the Steam store listing provide the published requirements.

What Intel says about running it on Intel graphics
Intel’s support article, last reviewed September 4, 2024, says Batman: Arkham Knight may crash at launch on Intel graphics platforms. If it does load, Intel says it may exhibit very low performance. That is a warning about compatibility and performance, not evidence that integrated graphics generally provide a playable experience.
Intel describes a modified dxgi.dll workaround intended to force selection of an Intel graphics device. Intel cautions that it increases startup time and is incompatible with other workarounds that use a DLL with the same filename. Follow Intel’s instructions only if you understand the file changes and conflicts they describe; the workaround does not establish that performance will be acceptable. See Intel’s support article.

How to judge your own PC
- Identify the GPU. Check your processor or system specifications, or view the display adapter listed in Windows Device Manager. Confirm whether the game would use integrated graphics or a dedicated card.
- Compare it with the published target. The minimum lists a GTX 660 2 GB or Radeon HD 7870 2 GB; the recommended tier lists a GTX 760 3 GB or Radeon HD 7950 3 GB. These are discrete cards, so an integrated GPU is not directly validated by the listing.
- Check the rest of the system. Compare the processor, RAM, operating system, DirectX support, and available storage with Steam’s requirements. Meeting some requirements does not resolve the uncertainty around integrated-graphics compatibility.
- Look for evidence for your exact configuration. The official sources do not establish dependable FPS, resolution, or playability for every Intel or AMD integrated GPU. A result depends on the specific processor and graphics unit, memory configuration, driver, settings, and game version; do not rely on a generic FPS promise.
If you are considering a graphics-card upgrade
Do not treat an old minimum-spec card as an automatic recommendation or a guarantee of smooth play. Before choosing any upgrade, verify that it fits the case, works with the motherboard, and is supported by the power supply; also weigh its condition and cost. Steam’s listed minimum identifies hardware targets, but it does not establish current availability or whether a particular card suits your system.
