Yes—supported Samsung Galaxy tablets can show the Home screen in landscape. First enable Auto rotate in Quick settings and turn the tablet sideways. If the display rotates but the Home screen layout looks wrong, check its grid and widget arrangements. The available controls depend on the tablet model and software: Samsung’s general rotation guide says its Home screen rotation option is not available on tablets, while its tablet-specific guidance identifies separate portrait and landscape layouts as a One UI 7 feature.
Allow the tablet to rotate

If the control says Portrait or Landscape, tap it to switch to Auto rotate. Portrait and Landscape hold the screen in the selected orientation; Auto rotate lets the display follow how you hold the tablet. See Samsung’s screen-rotation instructions.

Turn the tablet sideways and check the Home screen. Also try an app that you know supports landscape.

If Auto rotate is missing from Quick settings, Samsung says the control may have been removed from the panel. Use the panel’s edit controls to add it; the exact steps can differ by software version. Samsung’s instructions cover the rotation control.
Understand the Home screen setting
Rotating the whole display and arranging the Home screen for landscape are related but distinct. Samsung’s general US rotation guide explains additional rotation settings reached by touching and holding Auto rotate, but says its Home screen option is not available on tablets. Its broader Home screen organization guidance shows a “Rotate to landscape mode” control, but that phone-oriented path should not be assumed to exist on every tablet.

Samsung UK says Galaxy tablets running One UI 7 support optimized Home screen layouts for both portrait and landscape, with separate grids and widget positions or sizes. Samsung notes that options vary by region and software version, and grid choices can also depend on model and specifications. If rotation does not work
Only one app stays in portrait
Some apps are designed for a fixed orientation. If the Home screen or other rotation-capable apps respond normally, one app refusing to turn does not by itself indicate a tablet fault. Samsung’s rotation troubleshooting page explains that not every app supports every orientation.

Neither the Home screen nor other expected screens rotate

Return to Quick settings and confirm the orientation control is set to Auto rotate rather than Portrait or Landscape.

Check for an available software update, then restart the tablet. Samsung recommends these checks when rotation is not working.

If the problem continues, inspect the tablet for physical damage. Samsung says damage can affect performance and directs owners of damaged devices toward service; the guidance does not identify a specific cause for any individual tablet.

The landscape layout has gaps or awkward widgets
On supported One UI 7 tablet builds, check whether the Home screen uses a separate landscape grid or widget arrangement. Samsung says the separate layouts are intended to avoid stretched widgets and wide gaps. Availability and choices vary by model, region, and software version.

What to check for model-specific steps
If the controls above do not match your tablet, identify its model and One UI version before following instructions written for another Galaxy device. Samsung’s tablet guidance cautions that available options vary, and its support pages do not establish exact menu labels for every model and build.
