Yes. Install Amazon’s Kindle app on a compatible Android e-reader and sign in with the account that owns the books. Amazon lists Android 10.0 or higher as the app requirement; BOOX lists Android 11 for the original Palma and Android 13 for the Palma 2, so both meet that published minimum. This is app compatibility, not a guarantee that every title, feature, firmware release, or region behaves identically.
How to read Kindle books on a BOOX Palma
- Connect the e-reader to the internet.
- Open the available Android app store, search for Kindle, and install Amazon’s app. Amazon’s Android installation instructions direct users to find Kindle in their preferred Android app store.
- Open Kindle and sign in to the Amazon account associated with your library. Your eligible Kindle books can then be read in the app.
BOOX says Google Play and Google Play Services are installed and activated on most currently sold models. On some older BOOX devices, availability or activation can vary by model and production time. If Play Store is missing, check BOOX’s Google Play certification and activation guidance. BOOX recommends restarting after activation and allowing 6–24 hours for the store to become available; that is general guidance, not a Palma-specific guarantee. Its app installation help also describes installing apps by APK, but using the available official store is the straightforward route.

Kindle app compatibility on Palma models
Amazon Customer Service states that Kindle for Android runs on Android OS 10.0 or higher. BOOX’s published specifications clear that minimum on both Palma models:

Kindle app reading is different from opening a book in BOOX’s reader
There are two distinct ways to read: access a title inside Amazon’s Kindle app, or open a portable file in another reading app. BOOX’s native reader supports formats including EPUB, PDF, AZW3, and MOBI on its Palma product listings, but format support does not bypass Amazon’s DRM. Amazon says DRM-protected books are restricted to Kindle apps and devices. For those titles, use the Kindle app rather than trying to open the Kindle book in BOOX’s native reader.
Amazon’s DRM policy says verified purchasers can download EPUB or PDF files for books confirmed as DRM-free; the policy change took effect January 20, 2026. This is conditional on Amazon identifying the individual book as DRM-free and making downloads available. It does not mean every purchased Kindle book can be exported, and it should not be taken to include borrowed titles such as Kindle Unlimited loans.

Other Android e-readers and browser reading
The same basic rule applies beyond BOOX: an Android e-reader needs to meet Amazon’s stated Android 10.0 minimum and be able to install the Kindle app. Check the device’s Android version and whether Google Play is present and activated before relying on app installation; a newer Android version alone cannot guarantee future support.
If the Kindle app is unavailable, Amazon also offers Kindle for Web. It provides a browser-based reading option, but Amazon does not establish that every book feature or every browser-and-device combination is identical to the native app.

Some Kindle formats have reading limitations
Compatibility can also depend on how a book was published. Amazon’s format comparison notes that Print Replica books are not compatible with Kindle e-reader devices and lack features such as text resizing. Do not assume every title or feature will work the same way in an Android app, a browser, and a Kindle e-reader.
