WWE All Stars does not have an officially listed Windows or Steam edition. The original releases were for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii and Nintendo 3DS. On a PC, you therefore need a platform emulator or an unofficial community recompilation, and compatibility depends on the specific project and game version.
A controller is practical for either setup: Steam Input supports Xbox-style, PlayStation, Switch Pro and generic gamepads, but that input support should not be mistaken for a native PC port. Official WWE All Stars online multiplayer ended on April 28, 2013, so current official matchmaking is unavailable.

Is WWE All Stars officially available on PC?
No. The original platform announcements place WWE All Stars on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii and Nintendo 3DS. The initial announcement gave March 29, 2011 as the release date and listed those console and handheld systems; a later WWE platform page repeated the same platforms. Neither record lists Windows, PC or Steam.
That distinction matters because installing Steam and connecting a gamepad cannot create a native PC edition. Steam can provide an input layer for software running on your computer, but WWE All Stars itself was not published as a Windows game in the cited release records.

What the platform list means
- Original supported systems: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii and Nintendo 3DS.
- Not officially listed: Windows, Steam, macOS or Linux.
- Current PC options: emulation or a community-made recompilation, each dependent on its own compatibility and configuration.
Do not assume that a download described as a “PC version” has publisher support. A community project may run well on one computer and fail to boot, display incorrectly or require extensive controller mapping on another.
How can you play WWE All Stars on a PC?
There are two broad unofficial routes. Both require you to choose a specific original platform to reproduce; there is no universal WWE All Stars PC installer.
1. Emulate an original console or handheld
An emulator reproduces the hardware and operating environment of one of the original systems. You must use an emulator that targets the platform for which your copy of WWE All Stars was released. A PlayStation 3-oriented setup, for example, is a different technical project from an Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii or Nintendo 3DS setup.

Performance and feature support are method-dependent. The available evidence does not establish one emulator, configuration or computer specification that works for every version. Expect differences in graphics, audio, loading, save support, controller behavior and stability.
2. Use a community recompilation or unofficial port
A recompilation attempts to make the game run through a community-maintained codebase or compatibility layer rather than reproducing the original console hardware. Such projects can be easier to launch than emulation when they are mature, but they are not publisher-supported and may cover only a particular release, update or subset of features.
Check the project’s own compatibility notes for the exact game build, operating-system requirements, controller instructions and known issues. Treat “runs on PC” as a project-specific statement, not a guarantee that every WWE All Stars edition will work.

Basic PC setup sequence
- Choose the original platform. Decide whether you are targeting the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii or Nintendo 3DS release. Your emulator or recompilation must match that platform.
- Check the project’s compatibility record. Look for the exact WWE All Stars release, region and update where the project documents them. Confirm whether the project reports playable gameplay or only that the title starts.
- Install the project and required system components. Follow its documented operating-system, graphics-driver and runtime requirements. Do not substitute files intended for a different console version.
- Configure graphics before judging performance. Start with the project’s recommended renderer and conservative resolution. Increase resolution or enhancements only after a stable baseline is working.
- Add the controller through the PC input layer. Connect the pad by USB or pair it wirelessly, then select the matching input profile in Steam Input or the emulator’s controller menu.
- Test a complete match offline. Confirm that menus, wrestler selection, entrances, gameplay, pause functions and saving work before attempting advanced enhancements.
- Record the working configuration. Keep notes on emulator version, graphics backend, controller profile and game revision. This makes it possible to restore a known-good setup after an update.
Because no official PC edition exists, these steps cannot promise identical results across machines. A configuration that reaches the title screen may still have broken audio, timing, saves or multiplayer functions.

Yes, a controller is the sensible input device for an unofficial PC setup, but the support comes from the software layer you use rather than from a native WWE All Stars PC build.
Steam’s Big Picture documentation identifies official Microsoft Xbox controllers, Sony DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers, Nintendo Switch Pro controllers and some third-party devices as supported. Steam Input documentation also lists Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation controllers and generic gamepads. Actual behavior remains game- and configuration-dependent.

Why an Xbox-style pad is usually easiest
An Xbox-style XInput controller commonly presents standard face-button, trigger and stick names to Windows software. That can reduce remapping work in an emulator, streaming client or unofficial port. It does not prove that WWE All Stars has native Windows controller support; it only makes the PC input layer more likely to recognize the device cleanly.
Controller setup checklist
- Connect the controller by USB first if you are troubleshooting. A wired connection removes Bluetooth pairing and battery variables.
- In Steam, open Settings and then the controller section to verify that the device is detected. Enable the relevant support option for your controller family if Steam presents one.
- Launch the emulator or community build through the input layer you intend to use. Select an XInput, PlayStation or generic-gamepad profile that matches the physical device.
- Map every required action manually if the project does not supply a profile. Check movement, attack, grapple, reversal, taunt, pause and menu navigation.
- Test analog-stick sensitivity and trigger ranges in a practice or exhibition match. A menu test alone may miss dead-zone or axis problems.
- Save the profile under a versioned name. Updates can reset mappings, and a saved profile lets you compare changes instead of rebuilding from scratch.
Common controller problems
- No input at all: Confirm that the emulator sees the controller, then disable duplicate virtual devices so two input layers are not competing.
- Wrong button labels: Use the profile that matches the controller’s layout, or remap by function rather than by printed label.
- Double presses or drifting: Close extra remapping utilities, reduce the analog dead zone only as needed and test the physical controller on another application.
- Works in menus but not in matches: Recheck player assignment and confirm that the project has not bound gameplay actions to a second device.
- Wireless dropouts: Pair the controller again, charge it and test USB to determine whether the problem is the connection rather than the game configuration.
Can you still play WWE All Stars online?
Not through the official WWE All Stars online service. The game’s online multiplayer servers were shut down on April 28, 2013. WWE Games’ interactive marketing manager described the decision by saying that the game had been out for two years and online play was no longer supported.
Consequently, official matchmaking, leaderboards or other server-dependent functions should be treated as unavailable in 2026. An emulator or unofficial recompilation cannot restore a publisher-operated service that has been discontinued.

What still works offline
- Single-player: Campaign and other offline modes can be used when the game and platform setup run correctly.
- Local multiplayer: Original console releases support offline play where the mode and hardware allow it. Multiple controllers can be connected to the console, or configured through the PC input layer in an unofficial setup.
- Unofficial networking: A community project might experiment with direct connections or replacement services, but no universal, publisher-supported solution is established here. Treat any such feature as project-specific and potentially fragile.
Do not confuse local multiplayer with online matchmaking: two people playing on one console or one configured PC does not require the retired official servers.
What is the most reliable way to play today?
If your priority is authenticity and the least configuration, an original Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 copy is the clearest physical route because those are officially supported release platforms. Used-disc condition, region and current stock vary, so verify those details before buying.
A console purchase does not automatically solve every modern-display or network question. The official online service remains closed, and replacement-console compatibility must be checked separately.

Do not assume it will. Microsoft’s backward-compatibility program covers a selected catalog of Xbox 360 and original Xbox games, with eligibility determined title by title. The retrieved catalog information does not identify WWE All Stars as an included title. Check the current backward-compatibility catalog for your region and console before relying on an Xbox 360 disc.
If the title is not listed, an Xbox 360 disc should not be advertised as working on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Owning the disc and having a newer console are not, by themselves, evidence of compatibility.

Which setup should you choose?
Choose a PC setup if
- You already have a computer and are comfortable configuring an emulator or community project.
- You want modern controller, display or recording options and accept that compatibility is not guaranteed.
- Offline or local multiplayer meets your needs; official online matchmaking is not available on any current setup.
Choose original hardware if
- You want the least software experimentation and can obtain a working Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 system and disc.
- You prefer the original controls and presentation.
- You understand that the online service is permanently discontinued and that newer Xbox compatibility is catalog-dependent.
Bottom line for PC players
WWE All Stars is playable on a PC only through an unofficial route such as emulation or a community recompilation; there is no officially listed Windows or Steam edition. An Xbox-style or other supported gamepad is the practical controller choice through Steam Input or the project’s own mapper, but that is input-layer support, not native PC support. For online play, plan around offline and local modes because the official servers have been unavailable since April 28, 2013.
