Yes. Windows can map a WebDAV server as a network drive using File Explorer or the NET USE command. The server must support WebDAV, your account must be authorized, and Windows’ WebClient service must be available. A WebDAV URL such as https://server.example/path is not the same thing as an SMB path such as \servershare.
What you need before mapping a WebDAV drive
- Get the exact WebDAV URL and login details from the server administrator. Confirm whether the address uses HTTP or HTTPS and whether it includes a specific path.
- Make sure the server is configured for WebDAV and that your account has permission to access the files. A reachable website or server does not necessarily support WebDAV.
- Windows uses the WebClient service for WebDAV access. If that service is stopped or disabled, mapping may fail.

Map the WebDAV server in File Explorer
- Open File Explorer and choose This PC.
- Select Map network drive from the toolbar or the context menu, depending on your Windows version.
- Enter the WebDAV URL supplied by the administrator, including the correct scheme and path, then complete the wizard.
- If Windows asks for credentials, enter the account configured for that WebDAV server.
The wizard is the straightforward option when you want Windows to prompt for details interactively.

Map it with NET USE
Open Command Prompt and run the following command, replacing the example URL with the exact WebDAV address provided by the administrator:

NET USE * https://server.example/path
Microsoft’s example uses NET USE * http://www.example.com; the correct scheme and path depend on the actual server. This option is useful when you prefer a repeatable command rather than the graphical wizard.
Keep WebDAV credentials secure
Prefer HTTPS, particularly when Basic Authentication is involved. Microsoft warns that Basic Authentication sends the username and password in clear text and documents it as disabled by default for WebDAV unless the connection uses SSL. Windows’ WebDAV redirector uses WinHTTP. In some non-proxy configurations, WinHTTP may send credentials only in response to requests for local intranet sites. Microsoft documents AuthForwardServerList as a targeted workaround for specified URLs. Changing it requires restarting WebClient and can cause credentials to be sent automatically to listed servers, including internet servers. Treat this as an administrator-level change and limit the list to known hosts; do not use broad wildcards. Details are in Microsoft’s credential-forwarding troubleshooting guidance.

For SharePoint Online, consider OneDrive sync
This recommendation is specific to SharePoint Online, not WebDAV servers generally. Microsoft recommends syncing SharePoint files with the OneDrive sync client instead of mapping a network drive, describing WebDAV mapping as slower and less reliable in that context.
