Galaxy Fit2 is not Gear Fit2
The names are easy to confuse, but the products and compatibility statements are different. Samsung’s older iPhone 5 and iOS 9.0 minimum refers to Gear Fit2, not Galaxy Fit2. For Galaxy Fit2, use Samsung’s iPhone 7 and iOS 10.0 minimum instead. Samsung’s historical announcement is about Gear Fit2: Samsung’s 2017 Gear Fit2 iOS announcement.
Will it work with every current iPhone and iOS release?
Samsung’s iPhone 7/iOS 10.0 statement is a minimum requirement, not a guarantee of flawless operation with every iOS version released since. The App Store listing confirms the app’s purpose and device family, but the cited materials do not provide a complete current iOS compatibility matrix or establish identical availability in every country’s storefront. Check the app’s listing in your own App Store and confirm your phone’s supported configuration before buying a Fit2.

If Galaxy Fit2 was paired with another phone
Samsung’s cited iPhone instructions explain a new connection; they do not establish whether moving a previously paired band preserves its data or always requires a reset. Do not assume a transfer will work without resetting the band. Samsung’s broader Fit2 guidance describes resetting through Galaxy Wearable settings and recommends backing up data to a Samsung account first; it cautions that reset takes effect immediately.
