Can You Complete Fortnite Quests in Team Rumble or Other Modes?

Sometimes. You can complete a Fortnite quest in Team Rumble or another mode only when that quest supports the mode. Select the mode first, then check the quest in the Quests tab and see whether its progress counter moves. Fortnite quests do not all work across every mode.

How to check whether a quest counts in Team Rumble

1. Select Team Rumble, or the other mode where you plan to play.

2. Open the Quests tab. Epic says it shows quests for the selected game mode; see Epic Games Support’s guide to completing Fortnite quests and its guidance on finding Sidekick Quests.

3. Check whether the specific quest is listed and read its objective or any mode requirement. Try the objective, then check the displayed progress counter.

4. If the quest is missing or its counter does not advance, use a mode where it is listed or follow the mode requirement shown for it. The counter is a practical check, not a guarantee against bugs.

Why some quests work only in particular modes

Quest eligibility is quest-specific. Epic gives the Escapists Quest Pack as an example: its quests require Battle Royale or Zero Build and cannot progress in other modes, as explained in Epic’s support article about missing Escapists quests.

There are also broader exceptions. Epic says Global Daily Bonus Goals for most V-Bucks Quest Packs can be completed in any Fortnite experience; see its V-Bucks Quest Pack guidance. That rule applies to those goals, not automatically to unrelated quests.

Quest completion is different from earning XP

XP and pass progression shared across experiences do not mean that every quest objective is available in every mode. Epic describes Battle Pass XP progression through Battle Royale, user-made Creative maps, LEGO Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival in its articles on the Battle Pass and earning XP in Fortnite. Those XP rules do not override a quest’s own mode restrictions.

What Team Rumble’s format tells you—and what it doesn’t

Epic describes Team Rumble as a two-team elimination mode with respawning enabled throughout the match. That can make it convenient for some elimination or repeat-attempt objectives, but the mode description does not promise that a particular quest will count there. Check the quest listing and progress counter rather than assuming its objective is compatible.

When a quest still will not progress

• Confirm you selected the intended mode before checking the Quests tab; its contents reflect the selected mode.

• Look for a mode requirement in the quest’s details. A quest absent from Team Rumble may be intended for another mode.

• After attempting the objective, check the in-game counter. If it remains unchanged, try a mode in which the quest is listed or explicitly permitted.

Because available quests and restrictions can change, there is no blanket rule for every current season, event, or quest pack. For a named quest, its in-game listing and stated requirements are the useful checks.
