Yes, with an important qualification. Streamlabs supports YouTube Super Chat alerts, and YouTube allows eligible viewers to send Super Chats during a Premiere of a prerecorded video. But Streamlabs’ published setup guidance does not guarantee that every real Super Chat event will reach its alert widget in every Premiere configuration. Set up the alert, then verify it in the configuration you plan to use.
First, identify what you mean by a prerecorded stream
YouTube Premiere
A Premiere presents a prerecorded video to viewers together at a scheduled time, with live chat during the event. YouTube says eligible viewers can send Super Chats during a Premiere when the channel and video qualify and Supers are enabled. YouTube’s Premiere guidance describes the event, while its Super Chat setup guidance covers enabling Supers.

Prerecorded footage broadcast as a live stream
If you are sending recorded footage through a streaming program as a YouTube live stream, Streamlabs’ documented YouTube Live Alert Box setup is relevant. Streamlabs documents Super Chat as an available YouTube alert event, but its instructions do not specifically guarantee delivery for every prerecorded-content workflow.

Ordinary replay after the event
After a Premiere ends, the video remains available as a regular upload. The cited YouTube guidance establishes Super Chats during the Premiere event; it does not establish that an ordinary replay continues to accept them.

Set up and verify the Streamlabs alert
- Check YouTube eligibility first. Confirm that the channel has Super Chat enabled and that the video and live chat are eligible. YouTube lists age-restricted, unlisted, private, made-for-kids, and YouTube Giving fundraiser videos among video types that cannot use Supers. Other channel or location eligibility limits may also apply. See YouTube’s eligibility policy.
- Link the YouTube channel to Streamlabs. Sign in to Streamlabs and confirm that the intended YouTube account is connected.
- Configure the event in Alert Box settings. Enable and customize the YouTube Super Chat alert. Streamlabs’ YouTube alert guide documents Super Chats among the YouTube Alert Box events.
- Put the Alert Box in the output viewers will see. Add it to the relevant scene in Streamlabs Desktop, use the Streamlabs OBS plugin, or add the widget URL as a browser source in other streaming software. Streamlabs explains these routes in its alert setup guide.
- Use test controls to check appearance and configuration. Confirm that the widget is visible in the actual output scene and that its design behaves as intended. A test alert checks the widget setup; it does not prove that YouTube will deliver a real Premiere Super Chat event to Streamlabs.
- Verify real event delivery where feasible. If you plan to rely on the alert during a Premiere, check delivery in the actual configuration before the event if a suitable real-event test is possible. Streamlabs’ published instructions do not explicitly guarantee delivery in every Premiere setup.

Troubleshoot missing alerts
- No Super Chat option or no event to receive: Check channel, region, video, and live-chat eligibility, and confirm Supers are enabled. A widget cannot display an event YouTube does not allow.
- The test alert works but a real event does not appear: A test confirms widget presentation, not YouTube-to-Streamlabs event delivery. Recheck the connected YouTube account and test the intended Premiere configuration where feasible.
- The alert works in preview but viewers cannot see it: Confirm the Alert Box is included in the scene or output actually being broadcast, rather than only in a setup or preview view.
- Expecting an alert on a replay: The official guidance cited here does not indicate that an ordinary post-Premiere replay accepts new Super Chats. Distinguish the live Premiere event from the subsequent upload.
