Yes. PayPal lets you run reports for a selected date range, but it may not show one universal figure labeled “income.” Use a custom statement to review balance-affecting activity, or download transaction details and total the received payments that fit your definition of income.
Choose the report that matches what you need to know
| What you need | PayPal report | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Account reconciliation | Custom statement | Opening and closing balances, total debits and credits, and other balance-affecting activity. It is not automatically a sales-income total. |
| A total of received payments | Activity Download, followed by filtering and summing the relevant transaction rows | Transaction-level detail you can narrow by type, status, date, and how you handle refunds and fees. |
Download transaction details for a received-payments total
For a business account, PayPal’s help instructions direct users to Activity → All Reports → Payments → Statements – monthly and custom. Choose a custom date range and a file format. Labels can vary by account view or locale. PayPal’s guide also explains filtering the downloaded spreadsheet and using AutoSum to calculate a total: PayPal: Download statements and reports.

- Choose the date range and download the transaction-level report.
- Filter rows to the payment types and statuses relevant to your question. For example, decide whether to include only completed incoming payments or other transaction types as well.
- Choose the amount measure you intend to report, then total those rows in your spreadsheet.
- Decide explicitly whether refunds and fees should be excluded, subtracted, or reported separately. Keep that rule consistent with the figure’s label.
PayPal’s Activity Download supports PDF, CSV, TAB, IIF, and QIF exports. According to PayPal Developer documentation last updated July 2, 2026, activity is available for up to seven years, but each report can cover no more than 12 months. CSV and TAB reports are limited to 50,000 records; larger reports are split into files in a ZIP. IIF is for QuickBooks in the US, while QIF is for USD. See PayPal Developer: Activity Download for the current format and date-range details.

PayPal describes monthly and custom statements as summaries of opening and closing balances, total credits and debits, and balance-affecting activity. They exclude certain pending items, including uncaptured authorizations, pending eChecks, and unresolved disputes. That makes a statement useful for understanding account movement, but its credits or ending balance should not be treated as income without checking what the entries represent. See PayPal Developer: Statements.

Be precise about what “income” means
- Gross payments received: incoming payments before subtracting refunds or fees.
- Payments less refunds: incoming payments after accounting for refunded amounts.
- Net proceeds after fees: payments less refunds and applicable fees.
These measures answer different questions. A total of all credits or balance-affecting transactions can also include activity that is not sales income. PayPal’s transaction export gives you rows to inspect, but the appropriate filters and calculation depend on what you are trying to measure.

If your date range exceeds 12 months, request separate reports for consecutive periods and combine the filtered totals. If a CSV or TAB export exceeds 50,000 records, PayPal says it splits the report into multiple files in a ZIP; include the relevant rows from each part when calculating the total.
