Yes—according to its project description, the Feedback Compiler can run its feedback-inference step locally through Ollama after the model has been downloaded. The first model download requires internet access; subsequent inference can run without sending feedback to a hosted inference API. It is designed to organize mixed feedback into proposed actions, apparent decisions, conflicts and open questions, deadlines, duplicates, and links back to source messages. People review and edit the results, and handoff buttons prepare text rather than updating other services.
What “offline” means for this project
The project is described as a local React/Vite workspace that runs inference through Ollama on the same computer. Its author says the model must first be downloaded, which requires internet access. Once the model is available locally, the inference step can work offline without sending feedback to a hosted inference API. That describes inference, not necessarily every part of installation, model updates, or the surrounding workflow.

This setup pattern is not unique to the project. Microsoft’s Foundry Local documentation describes downloading model files and, in some cases, execution-provider components on first use, then running local inference offline. Foundry Local is a separate product; the Feedback Compiler’s author identifies Ollama as its runtime. Microsoft also documents optional diagnostic sharing in its privacy information.

What it can extract and organize
The compiler is intended for mixed, unstructured material such as Slack-style messages, email, meeting notes, support tickets, multilingual chats, and transcript excerpts. It presents interpretations as reviewable categories:

- Apparent decisions: choices or commitments that seem explicitly confirmed in the source material.
- Conflicts and open questions: contradictory or ambiguous feedback, unresolved issues, and information that appears to be missing.
- Deadlines: time constraints identified in the feedback.
- Duplicate relationships: requests that may refer to the same underlying work.
- Source references: links from each interpretation back to the message or material that supports it.
The purpose is to help answer practical questions: What might become an action? What has already been decided? What remains unclear? Are two requests duplicates or genuinely different? Is there a conflict or deadline, and which original messages support that reading?
How the review and handoff work
The project description says users can load examples, add or edit feedback, compile a batch locally, trace results to source messages, and edit, accept, or reject interpretations. It also describes validation and deterministic post-processing to normalize categories and relationships. These are stated product behaviors, not independently audited or tested results. The author summarizes the design principle this way: “Every proposed interpretation should remain connected to the feedback that supports it, and the person should be able to review it before it becomes work.”

Handoff buttons can prepare text for Slack, email, Linear, Jira, or Notion. That is not the same as integration: according to the project description, the compiler does not authenticate with those services, publish content, modify remote work systems, or automatically create tasks.

Privacy: local processing is not a complete security guarantee
The project author describes inference as local after the model download and says the active browser session is temporary: input and output are not retained after the page closes unless explicitly exported. Those are the author’s descriptions of the project’s data handling; the code has not been independently inspected here, and no security test is established by those statements.
Local inference can reduce exposure to a hosted inference service, but it does not by itself settle who can access the computer or its files, what happens to exports, or whether other software and network paths are involved. Before using sensitive workplace material, the author recommends considering redaction, retention and deletion, exported-file protection, network boundaries, access controls, backups and synchronization, threat modelling, and security review.

What the demo does—and does not—establish
The project author says the demo uses synthetic feedback and that the repository contains no private client feedback or team transcripts. The sources reviewed provide no named, attributable statistic for accuracy, productivity, or time saved. The described functions therefore explain the intended workflow; they do not establish how accurately it will interpret a particular team’s real conversations.
