To build a basic form with BuildHTML, first confirm which BuildHTML project you mean. The name refers to distinct JavaScript and Rust projects, and the available documentation does not establish current JavaScript method names or a verified code example. The JavaScript project’s page describes form helpers; check its current repository instructions before writing code. Then decide what information the form collects and where the application will send or process it.
Which BuildHTML project are you using?
BuildHTML is not a unique project name. The JavaScript project’s project progress page describes helpers for tags, forms, layout, and data, but it is not a complete API reference. Its current package version and exact form-builder signatures are not established here. Use the project’s current repository documentation to confirm its installation steps, supported runtime, API, and rendering instructions before relying on any example.

A separate Rust crate, build_html, generates HTML strings using builder-pattern APIs. Its documentation is not a guide to the JavaScript project, so do not mix the crate’s installation instructions or methods with JavaScript examples. The Rust documentation also says string escaping is not automatic and identifies escape_html for displaying untrusted text; that warning applies to the Rust crate, not automatically to the JavaScript project.
Plan the form before writing its markup
A form is a group of interactive controls for submitting information. Start by listing only the information the application actually needs, then choose a control that fits each answer:

- It can be a gift option
- Short text: use a text input for a name or similar brief response.
- Long text: use a multiline control when a response may need several sentences.
- One choice: use radio buttons or a select control when the user should choose one option.
- Several independent choices: use checkboxes when more than one option may be selected.
- Submission: include a submit control with a clear action label.
Give every control a clear, visible label so people can tell what information it requests. Choose appropriate input types and instructions for the data you expect. The MDN form element reference and MDN forms guide explain form markup and control choices.
Keep form markup and submission handling separate
HTML describes the controls and the form’s submission behavior; it does not by itself determine how your application receives, validates, or stores the submitted information. Specify the destination or handler appropriate to your app, and confirm how BuildHTML’s current API represents it. The JavaScript project information available here does not establish its submission-handling behavior, so generating markup should not be treated as evidence that data is delivered or saved.

Do not nest one form inside another. Keep each form’s controls within a single form element, and structure the page so separate submission tasks use separate forms rather than nested ones. MDN’s current form reference provides present-day implementation guidance.

- Open the JavaScript project’s current repository. Confirm that it is the project you intend to use, rather than the similarly named Rust crate.
- Follow its current installation instructions. Check the documented package name, version, and runtime requirements; these details are not established by the project progress page.
- Find the current form-helper API and examples. Verify method names, arguments, label support, submission attributes, and how the project represents inputs before implementing the form.
- Render it as the project documents. Follow the instructions for your target environment, then inspect the resulting HTML and test the form’s controls and submission path.
- Handle submitted values in the application. Implement the destination or handler, including any validation and storage your use case requires; do not assume the HTML builder provides these.
The JavaScript project’s progress page mentions a URL-sanitization security finding. That note alone does not establish the current behavior of the code or whether a released version includes a fix. Check the project’s current security guidance and release information before relying on its handling of user-provided URLs or text. Treat untrusted input carefully in the application that displays or processes it.
