Those figures are useful starting points, not a guarantee that it will pass through your doorway or fit your car. Bugaboo’s published specifications describe configurations and limits, but do not establish independent ride comfort, steering effort, durability, or ease of folding.
What the Donkey 5 is—and which configuration to choose
Bugaboo offers the Donkey 5 in Mono, Duo, and Twin configurations. The choice is about the children you need to carry and the components in the exact bundle, not simply a trim level.

| Configuration | Intended family | Published width | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mono | One child, with room to convert as family needs change, according to Bugaboo. | 60 cm (23.6 in) | Which seat or carrycot components come with the local bundle. |
| Duo | Siblings of different ages, according to Bugaboo. | Not stated in the cited product and comparison pages. | Exact seat/carrycot arrangement and included components for the SKU being sold. |
| Twin | Twins, according to Bugaboo; the product page describes two seats and two bassinets in the box contents. | 74 cm (29.1 in) | Confirm the region-specific bundle and whether its listed contents match the retailer listing. |
Bugaboo says the stroller can be configured with two seats or carrycots. That flexibility makes the component list important: a configuration name alone does not establish what a particular purchase includes.

Will it fit through doors, lifts, and into storage?
Bugaboo lists the Donkey 5 as 60 cm wide in Mono and 74 cm in Twin. The brand says the side-by-side version is designed to fit through standard doorways and elevators, but that is a design claim, not a fit guarantee. Measure the narrowest doorway, lift entrance, hall, and storage space you expect to use; allow room for handles and turning where relevant.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Bugaboo’s comparison page gives these folded dimensions:
| Fold description | Twin | Mono |
|---|---|---|
| One-piece, self-standing fold | 52 × 74 × 90 cm | 52 × 60 × 90 cm |
| Two-piece compact fold | 35 × 60 × 89 cm | 35 × 60 × 89 cm |
These are manufacturer dimensions. They do not establish the stroller’s fit in a particular vehicle trunk, lift, or cupboard, and the listed compact-fold measurements should not be treated as proof that every configuration is equally easy to lift or store.

How heavy is the Donkey 5?
The official pages do not agree clearly on the Twin weight label. Bugaboo’s product page reports 18.2 kg for two seats and 20.28 kg for two bassinets; its comparison page labels Twin total weight as 20.28 kg with seat. Because the descriptions conflict, do not rely on a single unqualified Twin weight when deciding whether you can lift it. Check the current specification for the exact configuration and local product bundle.

- Seats: Bugaboo lists a maximum load of 22 kg per seat.
- Underseat basket: The listed maximum is 10 kg.
- Bassinet: Bugaboo’s warning information says up to 9 kg or six months.
- Seat on chassis: The same warning information gives an age range of six to 48 months.
Use the current manual and warning labels supplied for your region and exact product. The age and weight guidance are limits, not a substitute for checking the child’s readiness and the stroller’s instructions. A side luggage basket is also listed for the Twin product, but its limit is not established here; check the current local instructions before loading it.

Does it work with a car seat?
Bugaboo describes the Donkey 5 as car-seat compatible, with an adapter required. The available compatibility information does not establish a complete current list of car-seat models, so confirm the precise stroller configuration, adapter, and car-seat model in Bugaboo’s current regional compatibility chart before buying or using a combination. Compatibility should not be inferred from a third-party accessory listing alone.
What do the wheels and terrain claims tell you?
Bugaboo calls the Donkey 5 all-terrain and lists puncture-proof traction wheels: 25 cm (10 in) at the front and 30 cm (12 in) at the rear. Its comparison information lists no suspension. Those are specifications and manufacturer language, not evidence of how smoothly it rides on a particular pavement, trail, snow, or sand. Independent ride testing is not established by these product materials.

What is established—and what remains untested?
The published information is useful for comparing configuration, width, fold dimensions, load guidance, wheel size, and stated compatibility requirements. It does not establish real-world steering effort, ride comfort, long-term durability, folding experience, or actual doorway fit. Treat claims about easy conversion or performance on difficult surfaces as manufacturer claims unless you can assess them in person or find independent testing relevant to your use.
