Browse AI Task Limits and Credits Explained

A task is one robot run; credits pay for its workload. See Browse AI’s published rates, plan allowances, monitoring examples, and how to estimate usage.

A Browse AI task is one execution of a robot; credits are the usage allowance that execution consumes. A run may cost more than one credit depending on the target site and how much data it extracts. To estimate how many runs a plan covers, count scheduled page checks, then account for rows, screenshots, captured text, and whether Browse AI classifies the site as Premium.

What counts as a Browse AI task?

A task is one execution of a robot. The same robot can be run repeatedly with different inputs, and every scheduled monitor check or workflow-triggered run executes a task. Robots and tasks are therefore different: having or configuring a robot does not itself tell you how many runs your credit allowance can support. Browse AI’s API documentation gives the example that monitoring one page daily takes about 30 tasks per month.

Bulk run capacity is also distinct from subscription credits. Browse AI’s API documentation says a bulk run can launch up to 50,000 tasks at once; that is an execution capability, not a promise that a plan includes enough credits to pay for those tasks.

How are credits calculated?

Browse AI’s Help Center article, “How are credits calculated?” (March 13, 2026), bases credit use on the data volume and the cost of extracting it from the target site. The figures below are Browse AI’s published rates and examples, not independent measurements.

Usage Standard site Premium site
Minimum per task 1 credit 2–10 credits
Rows extracted 10 rows per credit 2–10 credits per 10 rows
Screenshot 1 credit 2–10 credits
Captured text values 10 values per credit 2–10 credits per 10 values

The Premium range reflects Browse AI’s variable site cost; the Help Center cites bot detection, CAPTCHA, complex or dynamic page structures, and access restrictions as possible factors. Do not assume a specific site’s classification or an exact rate from the range alone.

Examples from Browse AI

  • Extracting 50 rows from one standard-site list page: 50 × 0.1 credit = 5 credits.
  • Extracting a list of 100 product links and then visiting each detail page: 10 credits for the list plus 100 credits for the separate detail-page tasks, or 110 credits total.
  • Monitoring 10 detail pages every three days: 10 credits per check and about 100 credits per month in Browse AI’s standard-site example.
  • Extracting 20 product detail pages is 20 separate tasks at the one-credit minimum apiece in the Help Center’s example.

Actual use can be higher when the site is Premium or the robot captures more rows, screenshots, or text than the minimum example. Use your account’s usage reporting to refine estimates.

How to estimate monitor usage

  1. List each monitor and count the pages it checks per run. A monitor checking 10 detail pages performs 10 page tasks per check.
  2. Multiply pages by checks. For example, a daily check of one page is about 30 tasks a month according to Browse AI’s API documentation.
  3. Estimate captured rows, screenshots, and text values for each execution, then apply the standard or Premium rates above.
  4. Compare the estimated credits with the allowance for your billing period. Track actual usage and revise the estimate if the robot captures more data or Browse AI’s site classification changes the cost.

What credit allowances do the plans publish?

Browse AI’s Help Center article “How do plans and pricing work?” dated March 13, 2026, describes these current plan configurations and excludes legacy plans. The listed configurations may not all be selectable in every workspace.

Plan Published credit configurations Websites Users
Free 50 monthly 2 3
Personal 2,000 monthly; 12,000 or 24,000 annually 5 3
Professional 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, or 30,000 monthly; 60,000, 120,000, 240,000, or 360,000 annually 10 10
Premium 600,000+ annually; custom terms Custom Custom

For current USD prices and offers, check Browse AI’s pricing page, then confirm the amount and configuration shown in your workspace’s Billing page. Public pricing details for add-on credits differ in places, so there is no single reliable top-up rate to apply to every account.

Monthly credits, annual credits, and add-ons

Browse AI says monthly plans have a monthly allowance. Annual subscriptions provide the year’s credit allocation upfront, without an additional monthly use limit; credits can be used throughout the subscription term. Unused credits do not roll over after the billing period ends, according to the Help Center credit article.

The plans article describes added credits as one-time purchases, with a 1,000-credit minimum for the plan cases it covers. Because public pages do not consistently show the same add-on details, inspect the price and minimum in your account’s Billing page before buying.

What legacy subscribers should check

The current plan explanation does not cover legacy subscriptions. Browse AI says a legacy plan is identified by the word “Legacy” in its plan name on the Billing page. If that label appears, use the allowance and charges displayed for your workspace rather than assuming the current plan table applies.

When Browse AI credits are the wrong measure

Browse AI credits describe its robot extraction and monitoring workload. If your goal is simply to capture a webpage as an image or PDF, a screenshot API measures that different job more directly. ScreenshotNeo is an alternative to try first: it bills only clean shots and does not bill bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, or cache hits. See ScreenshotNeo.

Or skip the browser setup

For a website screenshot, one GET request can return an image or PDF. Example cURL request:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for the API options. Cookie banners are accepted and removed before capture, along with known newsletter popups and chat widgets; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. An MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and 1,000 screenshots a month are free with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for the free plan.
