Journey Beyond has completed its acquisition of Kelsian’s national tourism portfolio, while South Australia’s Digital Games Fund has returned with $1 million available in 2026, according to InDaily’s 6 October 2026 report. The two developments concern separate sectors: tourism operations and local game development.
Journey Beyond adds Kelsian tourism businesses
InDaily reports that Journey Beyond completed its acquisition of Kelsian’s national tourism portfolio. The portfolio spans cruises, accommodation, sightseeing, tours and marine operations. South Australia’s Digital Games Fund returns with $1 million
The South Australian Film Corporation’s Digital Games Fund has returned. InDaily describes it as the state’s largest video game development funding program and reports that $1 million is available in the 2026 round to help local developers and studios grow and reach global markets.
#1 Best Overall
The $1 million is the reported allocation for the returning grant round; it is not a reported amount for any single studio. The article does not provide application deadlines, eligibility details or individual award amounts.
What the first funding round supported
The fund launched in October 2025. InDaily says 11 local video game studios shared $500,000 in that round to develop original games. Examples in the report include:
- Pro Jank Footy, an AFL-themed game developed by Powerbomb Games.
- Tinkertown, which InDaily says released at number one on Nintendo Switch earlier in 2026.
- End of Ember by Bad Plan Studios, which secured a deal with Thailand-based Rising Tide Publishing.
The $500,000 figure applies to the 2025 launch round shared across 11 studios. InDaily does not break down grants by studio or establish physical retail editions for the named games.

The tourism announcement is a completed business acquisition involving established operators, staff and guest services. The games announcement is public grant funding intended to support South Australian developers and studios. The reported $1 million allocation for the 2026 fund and the acquisition are not comparable transaction values: no acquisition price is stated.
The Digital Games Fund is also distinct from similarly named private investment products and funds. It is the South Australian Film Corporation’s development grant program, not The Games Fund venture fund or Betashares’ GAME exchange-traded fund.
