The Breville Fast & Easy BMO230 is a discontinued 30-litre microwave with 900W output, six preset menus and two defrost modes. Breville’s Australian product page confirms the model is discontinued, so this is a review of its documented specifications and controls—not a hands-on assessment of cooking performance.
What the BMO230 offers
The BMO230’s feature set covers common reheating and defrosting tasks. Breville lists six auto-cook menus: Popcorn, Potato, Pizza, Frozen Vegetables, Beverage and Leftovers. The manual also documents ten selectable power levels, from 10% to 100%, and instant-start controls. These are available settings, not evidence that a preset cooks better or faster than manual operation.

For defrosting, time defrost sets the power automatically after you enter a duration. Weight defrost is intended for meat, poultry and seafood; after you choose the food category and weight, the microwave sets the time and power. A separate countdown timer is included, but it is not a cooking mode.

Allow for ventilation as well as the 520 × 430mm footprint. Breville’s manual calls for at least 7.5cm clearance from adjacent walls and 30cm above the microwave, with one side left open. It says not to install the unit in a cabinet and warns that blocked openings can damage it. Specifications may change without notice, according to the manual.

Is the Breville BMO230 still available?
Breville’s Australian BMO230 product page says, “This model has been discontinued.” That confirms Breville no longer lists it as a current model; it does not establish whether any retailer has remaining stock. No current price, inventory, seller legitimacy or product condition is verified here.
If you find a listing, check that it is specifically the BMO230 and confirm its voltage and frequency suit your location. Also verify condition, seller, return terms and any applicable warranty before buying. A listing alone is not proof that the appliance is new, locally compatible or supported.

What this review can—and cannot—establish
Breville’s product page and instruction manual document features, specifications, installation and safety. They do not provide independent measurements of heating evenness, cooking speed or noise, or establish reliability and owner satisfaction. There is therefore no basis here for calling the BMO230 an excellent or poor performer, or for ranking it against another microwave.
As a documented specification review, the BMO230 is a 30-litre, 900W model with practical preset and defrost controls. Whether it suits a particular kitchen depends on its required ventilation space and the electrical market for which the unit was made; its discontinued status also makes the condition and terms of any remaining listing important.

Care, troubleshooting and repair safety
Keep the air intake and exhaust openings clear, and do not operate the microwave if its door or seals are damaged. For basic problems, the manual advises checking the plug, fuse or circuit breaker, outlet, selected program and whether the door is fully closed. If those checks do not solve the issue, contact Breville service.
The manual warns that service or repair involving removal of a cover that protects against microwave energy is hazardous unless performed by a Breville Service Centre. Do not attempt to remove that protective cover or work on microwave shielding components yourself. The manual identifies a glass turntable, hub, shaft and roller, but a compatible replacement part and current supply have not been established; confirm fit before purchasing any accessory.
