Possibly—but public evidence does not yet prove that renewing a Bigg Boss sponsorship delivers more incremental return than sponsoring for the first time. Repeat deals can build familiarity and make deeper creative integrations possible. Bigg Boss audience research and individual campaign examples show promising associations and outcomes, while broader broadcast research suggests sponsorship effects can strengthen with time. None of the available sources compares returning and first-season Bigg Boss sponsors under comparable conditions.
What the evidence can—and cannot—tell us
Three different signals are often treated as if they were the same: a sponsor returning, a campaign reporting positive results, and a renewal producing incremental value. They are not interchangeable. A renewal indicates that an advertiser chose to continue; it does not show how much additional awareness, sales or profit the next season generated.

In a 4 September 2026 announcement, JioStar said Bigg Boss had more than 95 sponsors across six language editions. The network also cited franchise figures of over 500 million reach, 438 billion-plus viewing minutes and 47% year-on-year engagement growth, all reported for 2025. These company-reported figures describe the franchise, not sponsor-level return. The announcement notes both long-standing partners deepening their involvement and first-time advertisers joining, evidence of continued demand rather than proof of any advertiser’s ROI. That distinction matters because a large audience or a crowded sponsor roster does not reveal what a specific brand gained relative to its spend. Public sources do not provide comparable prices or sponsor-specific ROI for the editions.

What Bigg Boss-specific brand research shows
An Economic Times report dated 14 August 2024 described Unomer Technologies research across 19 advertising categories associated with Bigg Boss Tamil and Malayalam. It found that regular viewers had higher reported brand metrics than light viewers and non-viewers:
- 57% higher top-of-mind awareness
- 26% higher brand consideration
- 33% higher purchase intent
These are comparisons between viewer groups, not a test of renewal. Regular viewers may differ from other viewers in ways that affect brand attitudes, and the published report does not isolate sponsorship exposure or establish that watching the show caused the differences. The report also relays advertiser comments about growth and store footfall; those are company claims, not independent causal evaluations. The Economic Times report on the Unomer study
What campaign examples suggest
A Bigg Boss integration tied to a product benefit
A WARC case study dated 28 September 2014 describes Dabur Chyawanprash linking its immunity positioning to Bigg Boss tasks in which contestants could receive immunity. The case study reports that 44% of respondents recalled and associated the immunity-voting window with Dabur Chyawanprash, and that the campaign helped achieve 20% volume growth. These are reported outcomes for one historical campaign; the accessible summary supplies neither a renewal-versus-first-season comparison nor a control group. The example illustrates how a brand benefit can be made part of a show mechanic, but it is not a benchmark for the return a sponsor should expect. WARC’s Dabur Chyawanprash case study
Renewal and advertiser-reported results
Business Standard reported in September 2015 that Snapdeal returned as Bigg Boss title sponsor after sponsoring the previous season. The report included industry commentary that continuity could widen exposure to a target group and provide more advertising inventory. It did not report a season-over-season outcome comparison for Snapdeal. Business Standard’s report on Snapdeal’s return
A 2025 ETBrandEquity report summarized network-shared campaign cases: a leading dairy brand reported a 20% rise in active users nationally and 48% in Hyderabad, while a South Indian ice-cream brand saw search volume rise 2.1 times during a season. The report also included platform reach, watch-time and OTT figures. These figures are campaign or platform claims; they do not establish a renewal effect or show whether outcomes exceeded sponsorship costs. ETBrandEquity’s report on Bigg Boss and brand outcomes
What broader sponsorship research adds
Channel 4’s 8 March 2024 release describes a 15-year UK broadcast sponsorship dataset covering almost 240 sponsorships, 666 research waves and more than 400,000 viewers. It reports average uplifts among viewers versus non-viewers of 8 percentage points in awareness, 8 points in consideration, 7 in brand perceptions, 5 in relevance and 6 in trust. It also reports that sponsorship running for more than two years had a 20% higher boost in consideration than sponsorship running for one to two years. Channel 4’s sponsorship effectiveness release

This is a plausible reason to test a longer association: repeated exposure may build familiarity and consideration. But the study concerns UK broadcast sponsorships, not Bigg Boss, and its consideration result is not a 20% increase in sales or ROI. It provides context for a hypothesis, not proof that a Bigg Boss renewal delivers more.

A useful renewal evaluation compares the first season with the next using consistent measures, while accounting for changes in spend and execution. At minimum, record:
- Exposure: verified reach and frequency; language market; placement and integration type; and share of voice. Separate linear TV, streaming, social clips and in-show integrations rather than combining them into one total.
- Brand outcomes: aided and unaided awareness, correct sponsor attribution, consideration, relevance, trust and purchase intent. Keep survey methods consistent and compare audiences with credible controls.
- Commercial outcomes: category-adjusted sales, active users, store visits, search and conversions. Document baselines, campaign timing and geographic controls.
- Efficiency: total sponsorship and activation spend against incremental outcomes, including the cost and value of any added integrations or distribution.
- Creative fit: whether the brand benefit naturally connects to the show, and whether repeated appearances remain recognizable without becoming intrusive.
For a fair comparison, also track audience composition, market conditions, campaign spend and creative changes across seasons. A second-season result is meaningfully incremental only when it improves against a credible baseline or comparison after those factors are considered. Continuity or reach may still justify renewing, but that is a strategic rationale—not demonstrated ROI.
What advertisers should compare before signing
The right comparison is not simply one season versus two. Assess the options across the factors that determine fit and measurement quality:
- Language edition and target-market fit
- Audience composition and verified reach
- Placement, integration depth and exposure frequency
- Duration and the opportunity to develop creative over time
- Natural connection between the brand’s benefit and the show
- Ability to measure outcomes consistently
- Total cost against credible incremental results
JioStar’s 2026 roster confirms that the franchise offers sponsorship across Hindi, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam editions. That breadth may help advertisers consider market fit, but the public sources do not establish comparable package pricing or sponsor-by-sponsor returns.
So, does repeat Bigg Boss sponsorship deliver more?
It has a credible mechanism: continuity can increase familiarity and create room for more integrated creative. Bigg Boss viewer research reports stronger brand metrics among regular viewers, and selected campaigns report positive outcomes. Broader UK broadcast research also finds stronger consideration uplift for longer-running sponsorships. But none of this establishes that returning Bigg Boss sponsors earn more incremental return than first-time sponsors. Until comparable sponsor-level, season-over-season measurement is public, renewal should be treated as a plausible strategy—not proven superior performance.
