To increase bass in Apple Music, choose an EQ setting on iPhone or iPad, or raise the low-frequency sliders in Music on Mac. The controls differ by device: iPhone and iPad offer an EQ choice, while Mac also has a manual equalizer and Sound Enhancer.
Adjust Apple Music EQ on iPhone or iPad

Open Settings > Apps > Music > EQ.

Choose an equalization setting and listen to a track with the audio device you normally use. Apple documents the EQ selection, but the available preset names can vary; choose an option that sounds fuller rather than relying on a particular preset name. Apple’s iPhone guide and iPad guide describe this setting.

This is an Apple Music setting, not a documented system-wide bass control for every app. If you do not see the same labels, your device’s software version may present Music settings differently.
Increase bass manually in Music on Mac

In the Music app, choose Window > Equalizer.

Turn on On so the equalizer is active.

Raise the low-frequency sliders gradually, then listen and adjust. Avoid pushing every slider up: excessive boosting can make music sound muddy or distort, depending on the track and playback equipment.

To keep the adjustment, use the equalizer preset menu to save a custom preset. Apple says the equalizer setting applies to songs until changed, except songs that have their own equalizer presets. See the Mac Music User Guide.
Try Sound Enhancer on Mac for a broader change
In Music, open Music > Settings > Playback, enable Sound Enhancer, and adjust its slider. This is separate from the manual equalizer: Apple says it modifies bass and treble response to increase the perceived width of the stereo effect. Use it if you want that broader effect; use the equalizer when you want direct control over frequency bands. Apple’s Mac guide documents both controls.

Use Custom EQ with supported AirPods
Some AirPods have a separate three-band Custom EQ. With the AirPods worn and connected, open their settings and go to Audio & Routing > Equalizer > Custom. On iPhone or iPad, tap the AirPods name in Settings; on Mac, open System Settings and select the AirPods name. Adjust the Low, Mid, and High sliders to taste. Apple says these settings are stored on the AirPods and carry over to paired devices. Check Apple’s Custom EQ guide and verify your model supports the feature; the guide does not enumerate compatible models.

If the bass still sounds weak

Confirm the Mac equalizer is switched on; changing its sliders while it is off will not apply the equalizer.

Try a different EQ choice or make smaller slider changes. A bass-heavy adjustment can obscure vocals and other detail.

Check which playback device is active. The controls above describe Apple Music EQ, Mac Music effects, and Custom EQ on supported AirPods; they do not establish one setting that boosts all sound from every app or every connected device.
