Bloodborne is playable on some PCs through bbport, an unofficial, experimental project for Linux that also targets Steam Deck. It is not a Sony Windows release, and it does not include the game: you need your own dump of PS4 build CUSA03173, version 1.09. The Windows-focused fork remains unfinished and had not reached the game’s first frame in the project status reviewed here.
Is Bloodborne on PC?
Not as an official PC edition from Sony. Sony’s US PlayStation product page lists Bloodborne as a PS4 game. The PC option currently discussed is a community project called bbport, which runs a specific PS4 version on x86-64 Linux.

That distinction matters: this is not a Windows port released by Sony, and it is not a general-purpose PS4 emulator. The bbport project says it runs the game’s x86-64 code on the PC CPU, supplies game-specific replacements for PS4 system libraries, and translates graphics to Vulkan through a renderer derived from shadPS4 and extended for Bloodborne.

The upstream project describes its status as “experimental, playable.” Its maintainers report that the game boots, loads saves, and can be played through the Hunter’s Dream and several areas of Yharnam, with sound, gamepad support, and saving. They have not verified a complete playthrough, so “playable” should not be read as a guarantee of a stable run from beginning to end.

The project’s README and October 6, 2026 release notes describe Linux support and Steam Deck testing; the release notes recommend FSR 3 and 1280×720 output for Steam Deck. These are project-maintainer reports, not independent compatibility tests. Crashes and GPU hangs remain possible, and results may vary by device and configuration.
Hardware limits and performance claims
The project says its thorough testing has been limited to one Linux PC with an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT using Mesa/RADV, alongside Steam Deck testing. Its new PC-style memory model is experimental and does not work properly on NVIDIA GPUs; the project recommends disabling that model on NVIDIA. The October 6, 2026 notes also document continuing stability issues, so the reported results should not be treated as a broad hardware guarantee.

For context, those same project-authored notes report VRAM use during 13 minutes of teleporting falling from 3.8–7.3 GB to 4–5.5 GB after changes to release unused textures and memory blocks. They also report 144 FPS at Yahar’gul with the old memory model and 152–155 FPS with the new one. These are maintainer measurements, not independent benchmarks; the new-model result was tested on the author’s RX 7800 XT and a Steam Deck and should not be generalized to other systems.

The Windows status is especially liable to change as development continues. The fork’s description is not evidence of a playable Windows release: reaching initialization is not the same as displaying the game.

What you need to run bbport
- A Linux PC or Steam Deck; the Windows-focused fork was not yet playable to its first frame in the status described above.
- Your own dump of Bloodborne for PS4, specifically CUSA03173 version 1.09. The project states: “No game files are included. You need your own dump of Bloodborne (CUSA03173, v1.09).”
- Expectations suited to experimental software: the project does not promise full-game completion or reliable operation on every GPU.
The project says it is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment, FromSoftware, or AMD. Sony’s product page identifies Bloodborne as a PS4 game; buying a PS4 disc does not itself provide a ready-to-run PC copy. The project requires a compatible user-provided game dump, and readers should ensure their use and dumping process comply with applicable laws.

If you already have the required PS4 game dump and are comfortable with experimental Linux software, bbport is a real route to playing parts of Bloodborne on a PC or Steam Deck now. If you need a supported, complete Windows release, this is not it: the upstream project has not verified a full playthrough, and the Windows fork had not reached its first frame in the documented status.
