What is the Deathspinner weak to?
The Deathspinner reference lists Dead Wire as its elemental weakness. Activision explains that Ammo Mods can deal extra damage to enemies weak to the matching element, but neither source gives a numeric damage multiplier or a measured time-to-kill advantage for Deathspinners. Don’t assume every shot triggers an electric effect: Ammo Mods have a chance to activate and then enter a cooldown, according to Activision’s Zombies overview.

Activision’s overview describes electric damage as providing stun and area-of-effect damage. That is useful general context for facing a group, not a quantified claim about Dead Wire’s effect on this specific enemy.

The orange sacs on the Deathspinner’s back are its weak point. Its rear is a smaller target than its body, and the enemy is described as fast, so prioritize a safe, clear shot rather than stopping in a dangerous position to line one up.

How to handle Deathspinners in a fight
- Apply Dead Wire to a weapon you already use. The enemy reference identifies the mod as the weakness; it does not establish a particular weapon as best.
- Keep moving. Deathspinners can close distance quickly and may appear in groups.
- Watch their attack range. Their listed attacks are a close-range bite, a medium-range lunge, and a long-range web projectile. Avoid holding still at any distance.
- Take aim at the rear sacs when there is an opening. The reference identifies the sacs as the weak point and the only weak point; don’t trade a safe position for a difficult shot.
When do Deathspinners appear?
Deathspinners first appear on Rex Infernus, where the enemy reference describes them as the map’s special round. They can also spawn among ordinary zombies in later rounds, where their speed and numbers can add pressure to an existing fight.
How Dead Wire fits the elemental system
In its Black Ops 7 Zombies overview, Activision describes six returning elemental damage types: Frost, Fire, Electric, Toxic, Light, and Shadow. It says undead enemies other than regular zombies have one or more elemental weaknesses, and that an Ammo Mod may inflict extra damage when its element matches an enemy’s weakness. The enemy-specific recommendation here is Dead Wire; the official overview explains the general system rather than publishing Deathspinner-specific damage figures.
