B&H’s published help pages explain how to look up orders, contact support, and handle returns, but they do not establish a universal cancellation button or guaranteed cutoff. If the item has already arrived, check whether it qualifies for a return instead.
How to request cancellation
- Find the order. Sign in and check B&H Order History. B&H says order history can include purchases made online, by phone, or in a store. If you ordered as a guest, use Guest Order Management: enter the email address used for the order and the order or quote number. B&H will email a link to review the details.
- Check its status. B&H directs customers to Order History for order status. If the purchase does not appear in your account, it may have been placed as a guest, by phone, or in a store; use the guest lookup or the account instructions for adding an offline order. Stock exceptions or backorders can take longer to process. See B&H shipping and order-status information.
- Contact B&H promptly. Give Customer Service your order number and ask whether that order can still be canceled. B&H lists phone, live chat, and email support in its Help Center and contact page. The listed phone numbers are 800.221.5743 and 212.239.7765.
Ask about the specific order rather than assuming its status guarantees a particular outcome. The public pages reviewed do not say which statuses qualify, set a guaranteed pre-shipment cutoff, or confirm that every order has a self-service cancel control. An account-specific option may exist, but the published information does not establish it for every customer.

What if the order has shipped or arrived?
If the package has not arrived, contact B&H and ask whether fulfillment can still be stopped; the published guidance does not confirm that shipment status alone makes cancellation possible or impossible. If the item has been delivered, the relevant option is a return, subject to the product’s eligibility and condition requirements.

Why a pending card charge may remain
B&H says a credit-card authorization hold occurs when an order is placed, while the card is charged when the order is processed for shipping. A pending authorization is therefore not necessarily a completed charge. If B&H voids the authorization, the issuing bank may take up to 72 business hours to release the hold. If it remains after that, contact your bank. This authorization-release timing is separate from a refund for a returned item. See B&H’s payment and billing guidance.

If you need to return a delivered item
B&H’s posted Easy 30-Day Returns Policy allows eligible merchandise to be returned within 30 days of delivery, subject to exclusions and conditions. The policy generally requires items to be new and in the original, unaltered box with materials and accessories. B&H reserves the right to refuse a return or charge a minimum 15% restocking fee when its stated conditions are not met.
Exclusions include, among other examples, certain unwrapped large TVs or monitors; opened computers and software; electronic software downloads; unwrapped consumables; custom-built computers; special-order or marked nonreturnable items; submerged underwater equipment; and unwrapped educational tapes and books. Check the B&H Return Policy for the item-specific terms before sending anything back.

After receiving and inspecting a return, B&H says it will credit the account, generally using the original payment method. The policy asks customers to allow 5–7 days for the credit to appear. For a purchase paid by check, B&H says a refund check will be issued no sooner than 10 business days after purchase. These are return-refund details, not the timing for releasing a card authorization hold.
