For a mostly static Hindi study playlist, start with 720p at 30 fps if your upload connection can sustain the bitrate with room to spare; use 1080p at 30 fps only when the artwork benefits from the extra detail and your connection is stable. In YouTube’s H.264 guidance, the video targets are 6 Mbps for 720p30 and 10 Mbps for 1080p30. Set CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and AAC stereo audio at 128 Kbps. A continuous 24-hour broadcast has important archive and recovery limits, so test the complete playlist-and-encoder workflow before relying on it.
Recommended settings for a Hindi study stream
For a feed that mainly shows a still image, study timer, or slowly changing artwork, 30 fps is generally the sensible starting point. Choose resolution according to both the visual detail viewers need and the upload capacity that remains reliably available while streaming.

These video bitrate targets are YouTube Help’s H.264 recommendations; they are not guarantees that a particular internet connection or encoder will remain stable. YouTube supports up to 60 fps, but a mostly static study visual rarely needs the extra frame rate. YouTube also transcodes incoming streams for different playback formats.

Run an upload speed test at the location and time you expect to stream, then leave about 20% upload headroom above the total stream bitrate, as YouTube recommends. Shared household or office traffic can reduce the bandwidth actually available to the encoder. For a 6 Mbps video plus 128 Kbps audio, plan for materially more than 6.128 Mbps of consistently available upload; for 10 Mbps video plus audio, plan for materially more than 10.128 Mbps. These totals are arithmetic illustrations of YouTube’s headroom guidance, not separate YouTube thresholds.

- Pick 720p30 when it leaves a more dependable margin or when the playlist artwork remains clear at that size.
- Use 1080p30 when finer text or artwork detail matters and the connection can sustain the higher bitrate with headroom.
- Do not select a bitrate solely because a speed test briefly reached it; test a realistic stream under normal network use.
Set up the encoder and YouTube event
- Prepare the playlist. Confirm that the video or playlist plays through in the intended order, and decide how the encoder or playback workflow will loop or restart it. YouTube’s streaming settings do not themselves guarantee an infinite playlist loop.
- Create or select the live stream in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room, create a stream or select the one you intend to use, and obtain its server URL and stream key.
- Configure the encoder. Enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key, select H.264, set the chosen resolution and 30 fps, use the matching video bitrate in CBR mode, set the keyframe interval to two seconds, and set audio to AAC stereo at 128 Kbps.
- Use RTMPS where supported. YouTube describes RTMPS as the secure extension to RTMP. Use it when the selected encoder supports it and its required configuration fits your workflow.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not share it or publish it. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Start a rehearsal and check the preview. Wait for YouTube’s preview, check picture and sound, and include movement and audio representative of the actual stream. YouTube advises testing before going live; monitor stream health once the event is running.
RTMP/RTMPS or HLS?
RTMP or RTMPS is the practical starting point for a conventional encoder workflow. YouTube names OBS as an encoder that supports HLS output, but HLS requires a compatible codec and workflow, specific segment settings, and adds latency because it sends the stream in segments. A non-interactive study playlist usually has little reason to prioritize low latency, so HLS is not an automatic upgrade. Choose it only if your encoder workflow specifically supports and requires it.
Plan for a broadcast longer than 12 hours
A single 24-hour YouTube broadcast is not a reliable way to create a complete replay. YouTube warns that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all; DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours. If viewers need a replay, plan sessions shorter than 12 hours and record a separate local backup rather than assuming YouTube will save the entire continuous broadcast.

Neither YouTube’s live settings nor the reviewed official help guidance establishes an automatic infinite playlist loop, guaranteed stream restart, or uninterrupted 24/7 uptime. Those depend on the selected encoder and playback or automation workflow. Rehearse long enough to observe playlist transitions, audio continuity, network stability, and what happens after an interruption; do not treat a successful short test as proof of uninterrupted operation.

Use original music or tracks for which you have rights covering the live stream and any archive you want to keep. YouTube scans live streams for third-party material. If it identifies a match, it may replace the live video with a placeholder, interrupt or terminate the stream, or apply a claim to an archived recording after the broadcast. A license does not necessarily prevent an interruption: YouTube says the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility for obtaining necessary rights, including music rights, on the content provider.

Troubleshoot before and during the stream
- YouTube reports unstable stream health or the stream drops: Check that the available upload capacity remains above the total bitrate with headroom. Pause competing uploads or streams, then test the connection and the complete encoder workflow again.
- The preview is missing or the encoder does not connect: Verify that the server URL and stream key were copied from the selected event, that the key has not been replaced, and that the encoder’s output protocol matches the configured destination.
- Video or audio is choppy: Confirm that the encoder is using the intended resolution, frame rate, bitrate and CBR mode, then check for network contention. Test with representative audio and movement instead of judging only a static preview.
- The playlist stops or does not restart: Inspect the encoder or playback workflow’s loop and restart behavior. YouTube’s event settings do not provide a documented guarantee of infinite looping.
- A music match interrupts the live feed: Review the track’s live-stream and archive rights. If you hold a license, ask the rights owner whether the channel must be allowlisted in Content ID.
- The replay is incomplete or unavailable: A continuous broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR can be limited. Use planned sessions under 12 hours and a separate local recording when a complete replay matters.

Can I use 60 fps for a study playlist?
YouTube supports up to 60 fps, but a mostly static visual usually has no practical need for that frame rate.

Does RTMPS change the stream bitrate target?
No. RTMPS is the secure extension to RTMP; select bitrate based on resolution, frame rate, audio, and available upload capacity.
Can I use a licensed song without a Content ID interruption?
Not necessarily. YouTube says the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel in Content ID even when you have a license.
