There is no single best ARC Raiders weapon build for every raid. Choose a weapon and amplification branch for the distance, target, and firing rhythm you expect—and for the handling you can manage under pressure. The October 8, 2026 Frozen Trail update adds weapon amplification, which can change how familiar guns behave, so older loadout advice may not describe the current options.
This guide maps common playstyles to the weapon behavior to look for. It uses the examples Embark has confirmed, but does not invent exact attachment recipes, module effects, or damage rankings that the available update details do not establish. Check the live branch and its requirements in your game before committing resources.

What makes a weapon build “best” in ARC Raiders?
A build is useful when its weapon behavior matches the fight you are choosing to take. A close-range setup can be a poor choice when you need to hold a long sightline; a precision-oriented branch can be awkward if you spend most of a raid moving between short engagements. The right choice also depends on whether you expect to fight Raiders, ARC, or both, and how confidently you can control the weapon.

- Who are you fighting? Raider-focused, ARC-focused, and mixed raids can reward different weapon behavior. Embark has described the Anvil as versatile against both Raiders and ARC, but that does not make it the best choice for every encounter.
- At what distance do you expect to engage? Seek a branch that supports the ranges you actually use, not one that looks impressive in a menu but does not fit your routes or decisions.
- How do you handle the gun? Consider whether you can maintain the accuracy and recoil control the weapon demands. A theoretical advantage is not useful if you cannot consistently put it to work.
- How much firing time do you need between reloads? A branch that changes ammunition or magazine capacity may suit sustained firing, but its value depends on your encounters and the costs and availability shown in your current game.
There is not enough verified post-update information here to name a winning weapon or module combination for each playstyle. Treat the recommendations below as selection criteria, then verify the actual branch effects and costs in the Outpost Research Workstation.
It also helps to separate the weapon’s role from the value of investing in it. A branch may look ideal for one raid, but your decision should account for the quality progression and unlock conditions displayed in the game, as well as whether you can afford the exposure of taking that weapon into a fight. The official update announcements do not give a full cost table or a universal resource price. Compare the requirements shown for the specific weapon you intend to use instead of assuming all branches take the same investment.
What changed in the Frozen Trail update?
Frozen Trail launched on October 8, 2026, adding a new map, threats, weapons, and weapon amplification. Amplification adds a fifth quality level for a range of guns and introduces branching abilities or enhancements that can change familiar weapons’ behavior. Embark’s September 23 preview said the initial rollout covered 15 weapons.
Recommended Free Tools
The ARC Raiders team described the goal this way: “We know that highly-skilled Raiders are loyal to their favorite weapons, but that means others barely get used – that’s why we’ve been building an upgrade system that totally reimagines some of the guns you’re already used to.” The practical implication is that a familiar gun may offer a different role through its branch choices; the weapon name alone may no longer tell you how it plays.
Embark illustrated the system with an automatic Burletta, a scoped Renegade, and an incendiary Rattler with a 64-bullet magazine. These are examples of possible behavior changes, not a ranking, a universal recommendation, or proof of a measured damage advantage. The 64-round figure belongs to that illustrated Rattler configuration; it should not be read as the capacity of every Rattler.
The same update lists the Bantam and Stiletto as new weapons. It also changes the Anvil’s rarity from green to blue. Embark said the change reflected the Anvil’s versatility against Raiders and ARC and its performance relative to weapons at or above its old rarity. Bantam took on the uncommon hand-cannon role, so older advice describing the Anvil as green or treating it as the uncommon hand cannon is out of date.
How to choose a build by playstyle
Close-quarters and aggressive play
If you prefer to close distance and take short, decisive fights, look for a weapon and branch whose behavior supports that plan. Prioritize a setup you can bring to bear quickly and control at the distances where you actually engage. Check whether a branch reinforces the close-range role or instead pushes the weapon toward a different use.
The automatic Burletta in Embark’s preview shows that amplification can alter a familiar weapon’s firing behavior. It does not establish that this is the strongest aggressive weapon, how much damage it deals, or which exact branch conditions apply. Treat it as proof of a possible role change, then inspect the current in-game description before selecting it.

- Choose a close-range setup only if your usual routes and decisions let you reach that range.
- Prefer handling you can control consistently over a branch whose advertised behavior does not fit your aim or movement.
- Before investing, compare the branch’s actual requirements and resource cost with the chance that you will lose or replace the weapon.
For an aggressive approach, consider what the branch asks of you during the whole encounter, not just at the moment you first fire. If its behavior encourages sustained firing, for instance, that may not suit a player who prefers short, controlled exchanges. The confirmed examples do not identify a current close-quarters winner, so use the live description and your intended engagement distance to make the call.
Precision and longer sightlines
For players who prefer to take deliberate shots across longer sightlines, examine branches that support aiming and precision at the distances they encounter. Embark’s scoped Renegade example confirms that amplification can add a scope to that weapon. It does not establish the scope’s magnification, accuracy improvement, damage, or superiority to other options.
Decide whether a scoped setup fits your raid before choosing it. A scope may support a precision-oriented plan, but the available information does not quantify its trade-offs or establish how it performs in close engagements. Read the current branch description and consider where you will be fighting; do not infer a full stat profile from the example alone.
Ask yourself whether your planned fights actually offer the sightlines that make this kind of role useful. A scope is an observable change in the Renegade example, but it is not evidence of a complete package of accuracy or damage improvements. If the game lists a specific unlock requirement or other effect for the branch, evaluate that description on its own. Do not assume a scope guarantees an advantage at every distance.
Sustained fire
If your preferred approach involves firing for longer before reloading, look for a branch that explicitly supports that rhythm. The Rattler example in Embark’s preview combines incendiary ammunition with a 64-round magazine. That demonstrates a possible sustained-fire configuration, not a measured DPS increase, a general magazine specification, or a claim that the branch is optimal against ARC or Raiders.
Use the live in-game details to assess what the branch actually changes and what it costs. A larger illustrated magazine is only one part of a decision: consider the ammunition and reload details shown in game, the target you expect to face, and whether you can control the weapon through an extended burst. The sources do not provide comparative performance numbers for these factors.
Do not turn the example into a general promise about how much ammunition every Rattler carries, or into a claim about the effect of incendiary ammunition. It is specifically an example of one possible amplified configuration. When comparing sustained-fire candidates, check the individual branch, the displayed ammunition information, and any unlock burden; the official material does not publish a side-by-side firing or reload test.

For a mixed raid, favor a weapon behavior that fits the range of targets you expect rather than assuming a specialist setup will cover every encounter. Embark’s stated rationale for moving the Anvil from green to blue rarity was its versatility against Raiders and ARC and its performance relative to weapons at or above its former rarity. That is a developer explanation for a rarity change, not an independently measured ranking or a promise that the Anvil is best in every mixed fight.

Account for its current blue rarity when thinking about progression and replacement risk. The update also gives Bantam the uncommon hand-cannon role. The available update information does not establish their exact costs, ammunition needs, damage values, or head-to-head performance, so compare those details in your current game rather than carrying forward pre-update assumptions.
The rarity change matters when reading older advice: a recommendation based on the Anvil being green may no longer fit the current quality context. Likewise, the fact that Bantam now occupies the uncommon hand-cannon role does not establish that it is a direct performance replacement in every situation. Check each weapon’s current details and decide whether the mixed-target flexibility Embark describes for the Anvil matches the raid you are preparing to enter.
Skill-supported builds
Weapon branches are only part of a build. Frozen Trail also revised the skill tree: the patch notes describe a binary choice in the middle branch and end-branch choices that allow up to two of three skills after the required investment. The tree can be reset.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Use skill choices to refine the approach you already want to play. First decide whether you want close-range pressure, precision, sustained fire, or mixed-target flexibility; then see which eligible skills support that plan. Do not assume one skill tree is universal, and check the current investment requirements and available choices before spending points. The fact that a reset is possible gives you a way to change direction, but the update details cited here do not specify its cost or restrictions.
Because the revised tree uses prerequisites and choices, avoid copying a skill setup without checking whether it is currently available to your character and what investment it requires. The middle-branch decision is binary, while the end branch permits up to two of three skills after the required investment. Those rules make the tree a set of decisions to fit around your weapon plan, not a single mandatory build. The fact that a reset exists gives flexibility to reconsider, but does not mean every change is free or unrestricted.
A practical process for selecting and checking a build
- Define the raid you are preparing for. Decide whether your priority is Raiders, ARC, or a mix, and identify the engagement distances you expect. If you do not know, avoid treating a highly specialized role as a guaranteed fit.
- Choose the behavior you want. Decide whether you want close-range handling, a precision-oriented option, longer firing between reloads, or flexibility. Use the official Burletta, Renegade, and Rattler examples as illustrations of amplification’s range, not as a ready-made tier list.
- Inspect the weapon’s current amplification branch. At the Outpost Research Workstation, check the branch available for your weapon. Read its effect and any displayed unlock conditions before assuming that the weapon will behave like an example from the preview.
- Check the cost and progression burden. Review the quality requirements, unlocks, and resource demands shown in your game. The published update details cited here do not provide a complete cost or unlock matrix, so do not rely on a guessed price or a path from an older guide.
- Match the branch to your handling. Consider whether you can use the behavior it offers at the distances you intend to fight. If the branch calls for a style you rarely use, it is unlikely to be the best fit for your play.
- Align your skills with the same plan. Check the current middle-branch choice, end-branch eligibility, and investment requirements. Select skills that reinforce your preferred approach, rather than copying a build without checking its prerequisites.
- Recheck the live game before committing. Frozen Trail launched October 8, 2026, and later game changes can alter what is available. Verify the current branch description, costs, unlock conditions, and patch state in game before spending resources.
A useful final check is to make sure the same assumptions carry through the whole setup. If you choose a precision-oriented weapon branch, your intended fights should give you chances to use that role; if you choose longer firing between reloads, check the live ammunition and reload information rather than relying on a single preview image. Then confirm that your skill choices are eligible and that the progression cost is worth it for the raids you expect to run.

When two options both look plausible, compare them on the same criteria. A build that looks stronger on one attribute may be less useful for your target or less practical to progress. If a detail is not displayed or established, do not treat it as known. Which older weapon advice still applies?
Pre-Frozen Trail loadouts may still help explain a weapon’s former role or attachment concepts, but they predate the fifth quality level and branching amplification system. They cannot verify a current amplified path. Be especially cautious with advice that calls the Anvil green or assigns the uncommon hand-cannon role to it, because the October 8 update changed both points.
Use older material as historical context only. For a current decision, prefer the weapon’s live branch description and patch state over a video or guide published before October 8, 2026. Even a post-update example should not be treated as a universal winner unless it supplies verifiable current effects and the conditions under which the build performs.
A February 4, 2026 creator video, for example, predates Frozen Trail. It can show the kind of weapon-by-weapon loadout coverage players look for, but it cannot confirm the new fifth-tier branches or their current unlocks. Check the publication date whenever a guide gives an exact recipe: a detailed pre-update attachment list may describe an earlier version of the game rather than the amplified choices now shown at the Workstation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best weapon build in ARC Raiders right now?
There is no verified universal winner in the October 2026 update information. Choose for your target, engagement distance, handling, firing rhythm, and the cost and progression requirements displayed for the current branch.
What changed with amplified weapons in Frozen Trail?
Launched October 8, 2026, Frozen Trail added weapon amplification: a fifth quality level for a range of weapons, with branching abilities or enhancements that can alter familiar guns. Embark said the initial rollout covered 15 weapons.
Which amplification branch should I pick for my weapon?
Check the weapon’s live branch description and unlock conditions at the Outpost Research Workstation. The official examples establish possible behavior changes—a scoped Renegade, automatic Burletta, and incendiary Rattler with a 64-round magazine—but do not establish a complete effect, cost, or performance matrix.
Does the Rattler always have a 64-round magazine after amplification?
No such general capacity is established. Embark’s preview showed one incendiary Rattler example with a 64-round magazine; treat it as an illustrated configuration, not a specification for every Rattler.
Is the Anvil still an uncommon green hand cannon?
No. The October 8, 2026 update moved the Anvil from green to blue rarity, and Bantam took on the uncommon hand-cannon role. Embark cited the Anvil’s versatility against Raiders and ARC as part of the rarity-change rationale.
Can I change my skill build after choosing skills?
The Frozen Trail patch notes say the skill tree can be reset. They describe a binary middle-branch choice and end-branch choices that allow up to two of three skills after the required investment. Check the live game for reset cost or restrictions; the cited update details do not specify them.
The Bottom Line
Pick a build for the raid you expect, not for a universal tier list: match its target, range, firing rhythm, and handling demands to your playstyle. Frozen Trail’s amplification can change familiar weapons, but the Burletta, Renegade, and Rattler examples are illustrations rather than measured winners. Before spending resources, verify the current branch, unlocks, costs, and skill requirements in game.
