They are not interchangeable: visible app count, screen dimensions, software features, local availability and price all matter. The evidence below supports a focused comparison, not a universal ranking for every market.
What matters when choosing a multitasking foldable
A large inner display helps, but it does not by itself establish how well a phone handles several apps. Check whether the software lets you show apps side by side, how many can remain visible, and whether you can resize or rearrange them to suit your work. The available sources establish specific three-app examples for HONOR and Samsung, but they do not show that the two devices use the same controls or layout behavior.

- App layout: Look for confirmed split-screen or multi-window functions rather than assuming every large foldable offers the same flexibility.
- Display dimensions: Compare the inner and cover screens; dimensions alone do not establish the usable area or preferred aspect ratio for your apps.
- Software and updates: Features and operating-system versions can change with updates and differ by region. Check the exact model and local software version before buying.
- Local ownership: Confirm current local price, storage tier, carrier availability, warranty and authorized repair options. The cited prices below are not universal current offers.
How the alternatives compare
| Phone | Multitasking evidence | Display information | Price and market context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold | Google markets it as a phone for multitasking and entertainment. The cited material does not establish that it duplicates Samsung’s multitasking controls or layout flexibility. | Google lists a 6.4-inch cover display and an 8-inch inner display. | Google listed a US starting price of $1,799 when the cited product material was retrieved. Check Google’s current local listing for availability and price. |
| HONOR Magic V5 | Tom’s Guide reports Multi-Flex split screen supports up to three apps, compared with two on the Magic V3. It also reports Magic-Pen support. | TechRadar lists a 7.95-inch, 120Hz inner display and a 6.43-inch, 120Hz cover screen. | TechRadar reported UK launch pricing of £1,699.99 for the 512GB/12GB configuration. This is a launch price, not a current or universal price. |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 | Tom’s Guide reports its reviewer ran Gmail, Spotify and Gallery at once without noticeable lag. This is a reviewer observation, not a guarantee for every app or workload. | Not stated in the cited sources. | TechRadar reported the announcement of the Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra and Flip 8; the roundup awaited full reviews. Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: prioritize a large inner display
Google describes the Pixel 10 Pro Fold as its phone “for multitasking & entertainment.” Its listed 8-inch inner screen gives you a large workspace to consider if you often keep content open while switching between tasks. Google also lists a 6.4-inch cover display, Tensor G5 and 16GB of RAM across the configurations shown on its product page.
Those specifications do not establish that Pixel software offers the same app arrangement tools as Samsung, nor do they confirm a particular number of simultaneously visible apps. If your deciding question is whether it matches the Fold 7’s multitasking controls, verify the specific features you rely on rather than treating screen size or RAM as a substitute.

HONOR Magic V5: a documented three-app split-screen option
Tom’s Guide reports that the Magic V5’s Multi-Flex mode can show up to three apps in split screen, up from two on the Magic V3. That makes it a direct candidate if keeping three apps visible is central to your workflow. The same review reports support for HONOR’s Magic-Pen; check the exact compatible pen and whether it is included in the package for your market.

- A premium foldable smartphone featuring an 8.0" Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, 6.5" cover display, 200MP main camera, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, 4,400mAh battery, and a slim 215g design.
TechRadar lists a 7.95-inch 120Hz inner screen and a 6.43-inch 120Hz cover screen. It also lists a 5,820mAh battery, but capacity alone does not establish real-world endurance; the cited material does not provide a comparable battery test that proves it lasts longer than the alternatives.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: the newer same-line comparison
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is Samsung’s newer generation, so it is relevant context for someone shopping the Fold 7 line rather than a cross-brand alternative. Tom’s Guide reports that its reviewer ran Gmail, Spotify and Gallery simultaneously without noticeable lag. That observation offers a practical example, but it is not a controlled comparison with the Pixel or HONOR and does not establish performance across all apps.
TechRadar’s foldables roundup reported the announcement of the Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra and Flip 8 and said its list was awaiting full reviews of those models. Availability, pricing and the depth of independent testing may vary by country and publication date; check Samsung’s local product information before treating the Fold 8 as an available purchase option.

Choose by the multitasking behavior you need
- Choose the Pixel 10 Pro Fold for consideration if the large 8-inch inner display and Google’s foldable platform appeal to you. The cited product material does not confirm Samsung-equivalent multitasking controls.
- Consider the HONOR Magic V5 if a reported three-app split-screen mode is a priority, and verify that the current regional software and compatible pen meet your needs.
- Compare the Galaxy Z Fold 8 if you want to stay with Samsung’s newer foldable generation; distinguish the reviewer’s three-app observation from a direct comparison or universal performance claim.
Before committing, verify local availability, current pricing, carrier support, warranty and repair service. The cited sources do not settle those questions for every market.
