3. Restream: useful for prerecorded scheduling, but confirm continuous-run limits
Restream’s Upload & Stream page describes uploading prerecorded video, queuing and scheduling content, and looping it; it cites 24/7 television, music and news streams as use cases. The page shows three tiers whose upload-library duration allowances are two, four and twelve hours, with different stated maximum video qualities. Those library durations should not be mistaken for a confirmed maximum continuous broadcast time. The reviewed page does not settle the exact 24/7 run limits or eligibility for each plan in India, so confirm the account-specific rules before relying on Restream for an unattended channel.
4. StreamYard: better for shows than a continuous loop
StreamYard’s current pricing page presents a browser studio for recorded streams, guests and multistreaming. Its listed Core plan allows prerecorded streams up to two hours, and Advanced up to four hours; Core lists three multistream destinations and Advanced eight. That makes it a reasonable option for shorter produced programs, but the listed durations do not support treating these plans as a like-for-like 24/7 prerecorded loop. 5. OBS Studio and a local computer: DIY rather than cloud continuity
A locally operated encoder can avoid a recurring cloud-streaming subscription, but it depends on your equipment and connection remaining available. If the computer sleeps, loses power, restarts for updates or loses internet, your broadcast can stop. Do not rely on YouTube for a complete multi-day recording
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. YouTube also recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. Do not assume a single multi-day broadcast will produce one complete video-on-demand recording; keep source files and decide whether to make local recordings or separate archive segments. Test before leaving a channel unattended
- Start with a short test broadcast and check playback, audio, video quality and the public-facing channel page.
- Confirm the correct YouTube destination and active stream key in the service you choose. Treat a stream key as private; regenerate it in YouTube if it is exposed.
- Check how the service handles a dropped connection and whether you must restart or reschedule the broadcast.
- Keep original files and a separate archive plan rather than depending on YouTube to preserve a stream longer than 12 hours.
- Check current plan limits, billing currency, taxes, storage and any run-duration rules before committing to a long schedule.
Common problems and practical checks
- The stream does not appear on the intended channel: check that the service is connected to the correct YouTube account and destination, and that the active stream key matches the selected channel.
