For a dedicated handheld that streams PS5, Xbox and PC games, the Logitech G Cloud is the clearest PlayStation Portal alternative in the available product documentation. Choose the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally if Xbox Remote Play and native Windows gaming matter more; a Steam Deck can stream PlayStation games through a reported third-party app, but that is not an official Sony-supported route. Portal itself has also gained cloud streaming for eligible PlayStation Plus Premium members and a 1080p High Quality mode, so it is no longer limited to streaming from a PS5 at home.
Which PlayStation Portal alternative fits your needs?
| Device | Best fit | PlayStation streaming status | Other documented uses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Logitech G Cloud | A dedicated, streaming-focused handheld for multiple platforms | Logitech lists PS5 Remote Play | Remote Play on PC and Xbox, cloud gaming platforms and Android games |
| ASUS ROG Xbox Ally (2025) | Xbox Remote Play plus native Windows gaming | Official PlayStation Remote Play support is not established by the cited product information | Native Windows games, Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox console Remote Play |
| Steam Deck | A PC-handheld library with a reported PlayStation streaming workaround | A third-party app called Asobi was reported to support PS4/PS5 streaming | Handheld PC gaming; PlayStation streaming depends on the third-party route |
| PlayStation Portal | Sony’s integrated PlayStation handheld experience | Sony Remote Play from PS5; cloud streaming is available to eligible PlayStation Plus Premium members | 1080p High Quality mode added in a software update that began global rollout March 18, 2026 |
These are feature comparisons, not performance rankings. The available product information does not establish which device has lower latency, better image quality or more reliable streaming in a head-to-head test.

Logitech G Cloud: the most direct multi-platform streaming alternative
Logitech explicitly lists Remote Play on PC, Xbox and PS5 for the G Cloud, making it the most straightforward choice here if you want one streaming-centered handheld for several systems. Its listed Android games and cloud gaming platforms add options beyond Remote Play, but the device streams games rather than running PS5, Xbox or PC titles natively.

That is a manufacturer estimate for cloud play, not a guaranteed runtime for every game, brightness level or connection. ROG Xbox Ally: best when Xbox and native Windows games are the priority
The 2025 ASUS ROG Xbox Ally combines Xbox console Remote Play and Xbox Cloud Gaming with native Windows gaming. That makes it a broader handheld PC than a streaming-only device, but ASUS and Xbox’s cited feature descriptions do not establish official PlayStation Remote Play support. Buy it for its Xbox and Windows strengths, not on the assumption that it is a plug-and-play Portal replacement for PS5.
ASUS’s US specification page lists the 2025 ROG Xbox Ally at $599.99 and 670 g. Those are values for the US-listed model and may differ by region or change over time. ASUS also says online console multiplayer, including through Xbox Remote Play, requires a separately sold Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Standard or Core membership; check the current terms for your region and intended use. Steam Deck: a third-party PlayStation streaming option
Tom’s Hardware reported that the Asobi Remote Play app supports PS4 and PS5 streaming on Steam Deck. This offers a possible PlayStation route for someone who already wants a PC gaming handheld, but it is a third-party workaround—not an official Sony-supported Portal alternative. The report does not establish that setup, compatibility or reliability matches Portal. Read the Tom’s Hardware report on Asobi for the app details.

These are figures Sony reported in its March 17, 2026 post, not independent measurements. Sony’s current feature announcement is on the PlayStation Blog.
