There is no verified universal best PC preset for ZERO PARADES: Director’s Cut: the available sources do not include controlled desktop benchmarks for the current edition. Start at your display’s intended resolution, keep the default in-game scaling setting, and lower scaling only if performance is not acceptable. Compare image clarity and smoothness in the same scene after each change; the right choice depends on your GPU, resolution, and frame-rate goal.
What the published PC requirements tell you—and what they do not
The current Steam listing specifies an Nvidia GTX 1060 6 GB GDDR5 as the minimum graphics card and a GTX 2070 8 GB GDDR6 as recommended. Both configurations list 16 GB of RAM and DirectX 11. These are publisher-stated requirements, not measured performance tiers: they do not promise a particular frame rate or graphics setting at a given resolution.

The Director’s Cut arrived on PC on October 1, 2026, as a free update for existing owners. ZA/UM’s release announcement describes about 40,000 words of added material, a new encounter, backstage mode, additional visual and atmospheric content, quality-of-life updates, and support for 21:9 and 32:9 displays. That confirms ultrawide aspect-ratio support, but does not establish which settings deliver a particular frame rate on desktop hardware.

- Set the intended display mode first. In the game’s display or graphics options, choose the resolution you want to use and confirm that the image matches your monitor’s aspect ratio. The official announcement specifically confirms 21:9 and 32:9 support for the Director’s Cut.
- Begin with the default scaling option. The available Steam Deck review documents a three-choice scaling control in that build, but does not provide a complete inventory of current desktop settings. Use the controls shown in your PC version rather than assuming every platform has identical menus.
- Check a representative scene. Choose a repeatable location with enough detail to judge image clarity and movement. Note whether the image is sharp enough and whether performance meets your own target before changing anything.
- Lower scaling one step only if needed. Revisit the same scene and compare it with the previous setting. Keep the lower option only if the improvement in smoothness is worth the reduction in clarity. If performance was already acceptable, there is no evidence-based reason to reduce image quality.
- Stop when the trade-off suits your system. There is no published desktop settings matrix for the Director’s Cut to identify a better universal preset. Your result will depend on your GPU, chosen display resolution, and preferred frame rate.
Why “Low” is not a universal PC recommendation
Steam Deck HQ reported that Low scaling gave the best performance in its Steam Deck review. That is a handheld-specific observation from a test of the earlier version, not a desktop benchmark for the Director’s Cut. It is useful as evidence that scaling can affect performance on that device, but it does not show that Low is the best balance for a PC with a different GPU and display.

ZA/UM also described platform-specific Steam Deck work in an official technical post: the developer said it used Vulkan to bypass Proton’s DirectX translation and selected an 800p target for Deck presentation and screen space. ZA/UM reported a frame-rate increase of up to 23% in that context. Neither 800p nor the reported gain should be treated as a desktop recommendation or Windows performance claim.

The Director’s Cut announcement confirms support for 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios, so players with those displays can use the supported shape rather than assuming the game is limited to 16:9. The announcement does not include comparative performance figures for those resolutions. Wider or higher-resolution output should therefore be evaluated on your own system using the same scene-and-scaling comparison, not an assumed frame-rate target.

No cited source establishes a guaranteed “60 FPS at 1440p” result, an optimal GPU-by-setting chart, or a desktop gain from the Deck-specific Vulkan work. Likewise, meeting or exceeding the recommended GPU specification is not proof that a PC will hold a particular frame rate. Treat the requirements as compatibility guidance, then tune against the result you actually see.
