For more reliable motion play on Nintendo Switch 2, update the console and Joy-Con 2, then calibrate the detached controllers in System Settings > Controllers & Accessories > Calibrate Motion Controls. After that, use the controller and play-mode options supported by the specific game and sport. There is no single sensitivity setting that applies to every motion-controlled sports game.
How do I calibrate Joy-Con 2 motion controls?

What settings should I use for a motion-controlled sports game?
Use two layers of settings: system-level calibration for the controller, and the game’s own controller and play-mode options. Sports games can differ in which controllers they accept, whether motion controls need to be enabled manually, and how each sport uses movement. Check the instructions and in-game settings for the exact game and sport rather than assuming a setting carries over from another title.

Nintendo’s published support instructions establish a calibration procedure, but not a universal motion-sensitivity slider or recommended sensitivity number for Switch 2 sports games. Don’t change or seek a system-wide sensitivity value that the game does not provide.
If a game’s motion controls do not respond, first confirm that the game supports motion controls and that they are enabled if required. Nintendo notes that some games require players to activate them manually; its motion-control troubleshooting guidance covers that check.

What settings should I use for Nintendo Switch Sports?
Play Nintendo Switch Sports in TV Mode. Nintendo says the game does not support Handheld Mode and recommends using a Switch 2, Switch, or Switch – OLED Model in TV Mode for the best play experience. The game’s controller options also vary by sport, so check its instructions for the activity you plan to play.

Does Joy-Con 2 work with the Nintendo Switch Sports Leg Strap?
No. Nintendo says Joy-Con 2 controllers are not compatible with the Nintendo Switch Sports Leg Strap. The strap is relevant to Soccer Leg-Strap Mode when using compatible original Joy-Con controllers; Nintendo says original Joy-Con can be used wirelessly with Switch 2. The Leg Strap is not required to calibrate motion controls and is not a general accuracy accessory.
