There is no verified launch preset or FPS benchmark for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis yet. The game is scheduled for February 12, 2027, and its published PC requirements place a GTX 1070/RTX 2060 Super/RX 5700 at minimum and an RTX 3080/RX 6800 XT at recommended. Until a final build is tested, use the settings below as sensible starting points rather than guaranteed performance targets.
A PC close to minimum should start at 1920×1080 on Low, disable ray tracing if that option appears, select the most performance-oriented upscaling mode available, and reduce shadows, volumetrics, reflections and foliage before sacrificing textures or geometry. A recommended-tier system can start at 1080p High and then increase resolution or quality after checking frame-time consistency.

| Requirement tier | Processor | Graphics card | Memory | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | NVIDIA GTX 1070 (8 GB), RTX 2060 Super or AMD RX 5700 | 16 GB | 80 GB |
| Recommended | Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | NVIDIA RTX 3080 or AMD RX 6800 XT | 16 GB | 80 GB |
The listing does not state a target resolution or frame rate for either tier. PCGamesN notes that minimum specifications generally imply 1080p at 30 frames per second, but presents that as a broad industry expectation rather than a Crystal Dynamics test result. Treat it as a rough possibility, not a promise.
Pick the right starting profile
PC near the minimum specification
Use 1920×1080 and the Low preset as the first boot configuration. This recommendation assumes a system around the listed i5-8600/Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1070, RTX 2060 Super or RX 5700 class. It is not a claim that every card in that group will hold a particular FPS.
If your display is 1440p or higher, begin at 1080p rather than asking a minimum-tier GPU to render more pixels. Once you have observed stable frame times in an actual level, you can test a higher output resolution. A lower, consistent frame time is preferable to a higher-looking image that repeatedly stutters during traversal or combat.

Start at 1920×1080 on High with an RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT class GPU and the listed i7-9700K/Ryzen 5 5600X class CPU. Increase resolution or individual quality options only after checking a representative section of gameplay, including movement through a detailed area and a combat encounter.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
The recommended tier gives you more resolution and quality headroom, but it does not establish a guaranteed 60, 120 or 144 FPS result. The final engine build, driver version, shader compilation and display resolution will all affect frame times.
Best settings for a low-end or minimum-tier PC
Apply changes in this order so that you know which adjustment helped. Menu names may change before release; use the closest equivalent in the shipping game.
- Set output resolution to 1920×1080. If the game defaults to a monitor’s native 1440p or 4K mode, lowering output resolution is usually the largest immediate GPU workload reduction.
- Select the Low preset. Use it as a controlled baseline instead of changing many unknown options at once. Record the result in a repeatable location before fine-tuning.
- Turn ray tracing off if it is present. Ray-tracing availability has not been confirmed. If the menu includes it, leave it disabled on a minimum-tier machine until conventional settings are proven stable.
- Choose the most performance-oriented upscaling option available. The specific upscaler and its labels have not been published. Select the mode that renders internally below your output resolution, then check for distracting reconstruction artifacts. If the game offers a render-scale slider rather than named modes, reduce it gradually instead of immediately choosing the lowest value.
- Lower shadows. Shadow maps and their distance can consume substantial GPU time. Keep them at Low before reducing geometry or textures, because this change normally affects performance more than object shape.
- Lower volumetrics. Fog, atmospheric light and other volumetric effects can create large frame-time spikes in outdoor scenes. Use the lowest practical setting if traversal through mist or smoke is uneven.
- Lower reflections. Reflections can require additional scene work. Reduce their quality or distance before touching texture quality.
- Lower foliage density or distance. Dense vegetation adds both rendering and object-processing work. Reduce it if open areas are slower than interiors.
- Keep textures within available video memory. The minimum listing explicitly gives the GTX 1070 an 8 GB buffer, but it does not publish VRAM capacities for every listed card or a final texture budget. If texture changes cause hitching, blurry streaming or warnings, step down one level; do not trade smooth frame times for a sharper screenshot.
- Only then reduce geometry. Geometry affects silhouettes and scene detail more directly. Leave it above the lowest value when possible, and lower it after the less visible effects above have been tested.
- Test a repeatable scene. Walk through the same busy area, turn the camera across foliage and architecture, and trigger a fight if available. Watch for sustained unevenness rather than judging from a single quiet room.
These are reasoned starting choices based on the published hardware tiers, not measured results from the game. If Low at 1080p remains inconsistent, reduce internal resolution through the available upscaling or render-scale control before making textures and geometry extremely low.
Best settings for a gaming PC
Recommended-tier baseline
On an RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT class system, begin with High at 1920×1080. Leave ray tracing disabled initially if the option exists, because its performance cost and implementation are not documented yet. Establish a stable baseline first; then raise one variable at a time.

How to spend extra GPU headroom
- Raise output resolution to 2560×1440 if your display supports it and frame times remain even.
- Increase shadows, volumetrics, reflections and foliage individually, testing after each change.
- Use a higher-quality upscaling mode, or native rendering, only after confirming that the GPU has reserve capacity in demanding scenes.
- Increase textures when video-memory usage remains comfortable. The published requirements do not state a final VRAM target for the recommended cards, so avoid assuming that every texture level will fit equally well on every model.
- Keep geometry high if you value detailed environments and character silhouettes; reduce effects first when a scene becomes GPU-bound.
High is a starting point, not a locked recommendation for every resolution. A recommended-tier card driving a 4K monitor has four times as many output pixels as 1080p, so it may need upscaling or lower effects even when the same card handles 1080p High comfortably.
Minimum versus recommended: what actually changes
| Decision point | Minimum-tier approach | Recommended-tier approach |
|---|---|---|
| GPU class | GTX 1070 (8 GB), RTX 2060 Super or RX 5700 | RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT |
| Initial image target | 1080p Low | 1080p High |
| Resolution headroom | Limited; test higher resolutions only after stability at 1080p | More room for 1440p or higher-quality rendering, depending on the final build |
| Texture/VRAM guidance | Keep textures within the card’s available VRAM; only the GTX 1070’s 8 GB is explicitly stated | Final VRAM target is not stated; test for streaming hitching before selecting the highest texture level |
| Frame-time strategy | Reduce shadows, volumetrics, reflections and foliage first | Raise one quality control at a time after a stable High baseline |
| CPU and memory | i5-8600 or Ryzen 5 3600 with 16 GB RAM | i7-9700K or Ryzen 5 5600X with 16 GB RAM |
The table describes the practical gap between the two published tiers, not a benchmark ranking. GPU capability is the clearest differentiator in the listing, while both tiers retain 16 GB of system memory.
Can a GTX 1060 run Legacy of Atlantis?
A GTX 1060 is below the published minimum GPU tier. The listing names a GTX 1070 (8 GB), RTX 2060 Super or RX 5700 as minimum, so there is no supported-performance claim for a GTX 1060 and no reliable FPS estimate to give it.

If you own a GTX 1060, check the final system requirements and return policy before buying. The game might start after aggressive resolution and quality reductions, but that outcome cannot be inferred from the published specifications. Do not treat a successful launch, if it occurs, as evidence of stable performance through every scene.

What FPS should you expect?
No official source currently publishes a target or measured frame rate for either hardware tier. The only public guidance is PCGamesN’s statement that minimum specifications generally correspond to 1080p/30 fps, explicitly framed as a general expectation rather than a Crystal Dynamics result.
That distinction matters because an average FPS number can hide traversal stutter, shader compilation pauses or drops during effects-heavy fights. Evaluate sustained frame time in several types of scene instead of relying on a menu counter captured in an empty corridor. Until launch testing exists, any precise “GTX 1070 gets X FPS” claim is speculation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does the game require an SSD?
The published PC requirements list 80 GB of storage but do not make an SSD mandatory. PCGamesN recommends an SSD for faster loading, so treat one as a convenience and streaming upgrade rather than a compatibility requirement.
If the game is installed on a hard drive, expect loading to be the first area where an SSD could help. Storage speed does not turn a below-minimum GPU into a supported graphics solution, and it does not replace the need to meet the 80 GB capacity requirement.

Fixes for stutter or unstable frame times
When average FPS looks acceptable but movement feels uneven
- Return to the Low or High baseline instead of changing several settings simultaneously.
- Lower volumetrics, shadows, reflections and foliage in that order.
- Use a more performance-oriented upscaling or render-scale mode if the menu provides one.
- Repeat the same traversal route after each change so the comparison is meaningful.
When textures stream late or the game hitches after turning the camera
- Reduce texture quality one step and check whether the hitching stops.
- Confirm that the installation has more free space than the game’s 80 GB requirement; the requirement itself is capacity, not a promise that leaving only a few megabytes free is healthy.
- Prefer an SSD when practical for faster loading and asset streaming, while remembering that it is not listed as compulsory.
When lowering effects does not help
Check whether the CPU is near the minimum i5-8600/Ryzen 5 3600 class and whether background applications are consuming memory. Both published tiers specify 16 GB RAM, so closing unnecessary applications is a sensible troubleshooting step before assuming that another graphics option will solve a system-side bottleneck.
Launch-day setup checklist
- Install the final game on a drive with at least the listed 80 GB capacity available.
- Update Windows and your graphics driver before the first benchmark run.
- Use 1080p Low for a minimum-tier PC or 1080p High for a recommended-tier PC.
- Disable ray tracing if the final menu exposes it, then test conventional rendering first.
- Choose the most performance-oriented available upscaling mode when frame times are unstable.
- Test a busy outdoor route and a combat sequence, not only the opening room.
- Change one setting at a time, starting with shadows, volumetrics, reflections and foliage.
- Record the final settings and frame-time behavior so a later driver or game update can be compared against the same baseline.
Crystal Dynamics, Flying Wild Hog and Amazon Games may publish revised requirements or performance guidance before release. Recheck the final Steam listing and launch notes before treating these preliminary profiles as definitive.
Keep graphics settings separate from difficulty
Graphics quality does not determine how hard the game plays. TechRadar reports that the developers provide independent combat, puzzle and traversal difficulty controls. Choose those gameplay settings for the challenge you want, then tune resolution and rendering quality separately for a stable image.
