For a Samsung Galaxy Ultra that supports 45W charging, the safest default is a USB-C charger rated at 45W with both USB Power Delivery (PD) and Programmable Power Supply (PPS). Samsung’s EP-TA845 is the reference example in its official compatibility guidance. For mobile charging, choose a power bank with USB-C PD/PPS output, then size its capacity, recharge speed, ports, cable and weight to your trip. Check your exact Ultra generation before buying: charging speed and bundle contents vary by model and region.
What to buy at a glance
A Galaxy Ultra does not charge at the advertised speed merely because a charger says “45W.” The charger, phone and cable must agree on USB-C Power Delivery, PPS and the required electrical profile. Samsung says Super Fast Charging depends on checking both the charger’s output and its USB PD/PPS support. It also warns that an unsuitable USB cable can stop the charger from delivering its maximum supported output.

- Wall charger: Select a USB-C PD charger with PPS and a 45W rating when your exact Ultra model supports 45W.
- Power bank: Select USB-C PD/PPS output first; compare capacity, recharge input, weight, ports and travel convenience second.
- Cable: Use a USB-C cable rated for the charger’s current and suitable for the intended power level.
- Model check: Confirm the exact Galaxy Ultra generation and regional variant before assuming 45W support.
Samsung’s EP-TA845 is documented as a 45W USB PD charger with PPS profiles for compatible Galaxy phones. That makes it a useful specification reference, not proof that every Galaxy Ultra accepts 45W.
How Galaxy Ultra fast charging works
USB Power Delivery negotiates the power
USB Power Delivery is the communication system used by many modern USB-C chargers. When you connect the phone, the charger advertises power options and the phone requests an option it can safely use. A charger with a higher headline wattage does not force that wattage into the phone; the phone controls the request.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
PPS allows finer voltage adjustment
Programmable Power Supply is an extension used by Samsung’s Super Fast Charging system on compatible devices. PPS lets the phone request a continuously adjustable voltage range rather than selecting only fixed steps. Without PPS, a USB-C PD charger may still charge the phone, but it may not provide Samsung’s fastest charging mode.
45W is a maximum, not a constant rate
The 45W figure is the maximum output documented for the compatible charger profile. It is not a promise that the phone will draw 45W from empty to full. Actual charging power changes with the Ultra model, battery state, temperature, software controls and the charger’s negotiated profile. Use the rating to establish compatibility, not to predict a specific charge time.
Verify your exact Galaxy Ultra model
“Galaxy Ultra” covers multiple generations and regional variants. Samsung’s compatibility guidance distinguishes phones by their supported charging speed, so identify the model shown in Settings > About phone, on the original box, or on the purchase record. Then check Samsung’s current specification or support page for that model’s maximum wired charging mode.

Why the model check matters
- Some Ultra generations support Samsung’s 45W mode; others may accept a lower maximum.
- A 45W charger remains usable with a lower-rated phone, but the phone will limit its own draw.
- Regional bundles may include different chargers or no charger at all.
- Two phones with “Ultra” in their names can have different charging requirements.
Do not infer compatibility from the phone’s screen size, release year or a seller’s generic “Galaxy compatible” label. Match the model number and the stated charging protocol.
Wall-charger buying guide
1. Confirm the USB-C output profile
Look for explicit wording such as USB Power Delivery, PD and PPS. A charger that lists only “fast charging,” “high power” or a proprietary standard does not establish Samsung Super Fast Charging compatibility. The product specification should identify a USB-C output capable of the required 45W profile when your phone supports it.
2. Treat port layouts as a practical choice
A single-port charger directs its available power to one device and is simple to use. Multi-port chargers are useful for a phone, tablet, watch or earbuds, but read the output table carefully: the 45W figure may apply only when one port is used, while simultaneous charging can divide the available power. Buy for the devices you will charge at the same time rather than choosing ports by count alone.

3. Check whether a cable is included
Some chargers include a USB-C cable and some do not. If there is no cable, budget for one that is rated for the charger’s current. Samsung warns that a noncompliant cable can limit output or interrupt charging, so the cable is part of the charging system, not an optional accessory.
4. Consider size and heat management
Compact chargers are easier to pack, while larger units may offer more ports or higher combined output. Any charger can become warm while delivering high power. Keep its vents clear, use an undamaged outlet and cable, and stop using equipment that has cracked insulation, bent contacts, a loose USB-C port or a burning smell.
5. Compare the specification, not just the package headline
Use the manufacturer’s output table to confirm the USB-C port’s PD and PPS ranges. A prominent “45W” badge without a protocol table leaves the key compatibility question unanswered.
Charger comparison framework
| Criterion | What a 45W-capable Galaxy Ultra user should look for | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum USB-C output | 45W for a model documented as 45W-capable | Establishes that the charger can meet the phone’s maximum requested level |
| USB protocol | USB Power Delivery with PPS | Required for Samsung’s documented Super Fast Charging behavior |
| Port count | One port for simplicity; multiple ports for several devices | Shared output can reduce power when ports are used together |
| Cable | Included, or a separate USB-C cable rated for the charger’s current | An unsuitable cable can limit or interrupt charging |
| Exact model fit | Confirmed against the phone’s model number and region | Ultra generations do not all have identical charging limits |
| Price and stock | Check the current local listing | Prices, bundles and availability change |
Samsung EP-TA845: the reference 45W charger
Samsung documents the EP-TA845 as a 45W PD charger with PPS profiles reaching 45W for compatible Galaxy phones. It is therefore a straightforward reference when you are checking whether a charger includes the two protocol features Samsung identifies for Super Fast Charging.
That specification does not make every 45W USB-C charger identical, nor does it establish that every Galaxy Ultra will draw 45W. Use the EP-TA845’s documented PD/PPS capability as a checklist: a competing charger should explicitly state equivalent USB-C PD and PPS support, the required output and a suitable cable.

Start with USB-C PD/PPS output
A power bank can have a large capacity and still be a poor match if its USB-C output lacks PPS. Check the output section, not only the input section. The USB-C port should explicitly support PD and PPS at a wattage suitable for your Ultra. A bank without PPS may charge the phone, but it may not provide Samsung’s fastest charging mode.

Capacity determines how much reserve you carry
Capacity is normally printed in milliamp-hours, but that number alone does not tell you how much energy reaches the phone. Conversion losses, the bank’s output voltage and the phone’s charging behavior affect usable energy. Compare capacity only after confirming output compatibility, and treat the printed figure as a manufacturer rating rather than a guaranteed number of full phone charges.
Recharge input affects turnaround time
Check how quickly the bank itself can recharge and which port accepts that input. A high-output bank that takes a long time to refill may be inconvenient between travel days. The product specification should distinguish USB-C input from USB-C output and state the supported input wattage.
Weight and shape matter on a trip
More capacity generally means more weight and bulk, although designs differ. A small bank may be preferable for commuting or emergency use; a larger one may suit long days away from outlets. Compare the bank’s listed weight and dimensions with the way you actually carry your phone.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsPorts, pass-through and cable details
Multiple output ports let you charge more than one device, but simultaneous use can divide power. If you want to charge the bank while it charges the phone, verify that the manufacturer supports pass-through charging; do not assume it. Confirm whether the included cable supports the advertised output and whether the bank has a dedicated USB-C PD/PPS port rather than reserving those features for another connector.
Power-bank comparison table
| Feature | Question to ask | Decision rule |
|---|---|---|
| USB-C output protocol | Does the output explicitly list USB PD and PPS? | Reject a bank that omits PPS if Samsung’s fastest mode is your goal |
| Output wattage | What is the maximum from the USB-C output? | Choose a rating suitable for the exact Ultra model |
| Capacity | How much reserve do you need away from an outlet? | Balance reserve against weight; do not use mAh alone as a charge-count promise |
| Recharge input | How fast can the bank refill, and through which port? | Prefer a clearly specified USB-C input and practical recharge time |
| Weight and dimensions | Will you carry it daily or only on long trips? | Choose the lightest capacity that covers your use |
| Ports and simultaneous output | What happens when two devices are connected? | Read the combined-output table before relying on multi-device charging |
| Pass-through | Is charging the bank and phone at once supported? | Use only when the manufacturer explicitly permits it |
| Cable rating | Is the cable suitable for the stated current? | Use a compliant cable to avoid reduced or interrupted charging |
Choose by use case
Desk, bedside or office
Choose a compact single-port 45W USB-C PD/PPS charger if one phone is the priority. It minimizes configuration questions and leaves the phone’s full compatible profile available.
Shared family charging
A multi-port charger can be more convenient when several devices need power. Verify which port provides 45W, how output is divided, and whether the additional ports use the protocols required by your other devices.

Daily commuting
A power bank with USB-C PD/PPS output and moderate capacity is easier to carry than the largest model. Give extra attention to weight, cable length and whether the bank can be recharged quickly at your destination.

Long travel days
Prioritize enough capacity for the time you will be away from an outlet, then verify the bank’s output, recharge input and travel practicality. A heavier bank that stays in luggage can be reasonable; the same model may be uncomfortable in a pocket.
Air travel
Check the current airline and airport rules before departure. Requirements can vary by jurisdiction and carrier, and a product’s capacity marking may be needed for inspection. Keep the bank protected from short circuits and carry it according to the applicable rules.
Use the right cable
Connect the charger or bank to the phone with a USB-C cable rated for the charger’s current. Inspect both ends for bent contacts, fraying or looseness. If a supposedly compatible setup charges slowly, test with a known-compliant cable before replacing the charger.
A cable can fit physically while failing electrically at the requested power. Samsung specifically warns that an unsuitable cable can prevent maximum output or interrupt charging. Do not use a damaged cable as a troubleshooting shortcut.

Setup: getting the fastest supported charge
- Identify the phone: Open Settings > About phone and record the exact model number.
- Confirm the charging limit: Check Samsung’s current specification or support information for that model and region.
- Check the charger or bank: Verify USB-C PD, PPS and an output rating appropriate for the phone.
- Match the cable: Use a cable rated for the charger’s current and in good condition.
- Connect directly: For a speed check, connect the phone directly to the charger or power bank rather than through an unverified hub, adapter or extension.
- Observe the phone: The lock screen or charging notification should identify the available charging mode. The exact wording can vary by One UI version.
- Allow normal conditions: Keep the phone and charger ventilated. Charging may slow as the battery fills or if the device becomes warm.
Troubleshooting slow or interrupted charging
The phone charges but does not show Super Fast Charging
- Confirm that the charger’s USB-C output lists both PD and PPS.
- Check that the exact Ultra model supports the mode you expect.
- Replace the cable with one rated for the charger’s current.
- Try the charger’s primary USB-C port if it has several ports.
- Disconnect other devices that may be sharing output.
Charging starts and stops
- Inspect the cable and USB-C connectors for damage or debris.
- Try a different outlet or a different compliant cable.
- Remove cases or accessories that put pressure on the connector.
- Stop using equipment that becomes abnormally hot, smells burnt or shows physical damage.
A power bank charges slowly
- Verify that you are using its USB-C PD/PPS output, not a lower-power port.
- Check the bank’s combined-output limits if another device is connected.
- Confirm that the bank has enough charge remaining.
- Check whether the included cable supports the advertised current.
- Remember that the phone may reduce power when warm or near full.
Safety and care
Use chargers and banks from identifiable manufacturers with clear electrical specifications and safety information. Keep liquid away from charging equipment, do not cover a warm charger, and unplug damaged accessories. Avoid charging under bedding or in other places where heat cannot escape. Store a power bank where its USB-C contacts cannot touch keys, coins or other metal objects.

Do not judge safety by wattage alone. A 45W rating describes output capability; it does not replace proper design, protection circuitry or an intact cable. If a device, cable or connector is damaged, replace it rather than trying to reach the advertised charging speed.
Common buying mistakes
Buying by wattage alone
“45W” without USB PD and PPS does not establish compatibility with Samsung Super Fast Charging. Read the protocol details.
Assuming every Ultra needs 45W
Charging speed differs by Galaxy generation. Verify the exact model before paying extra for a 45W setup.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Ignoring the cable
The cable can be the limiting component. Include its current rating in the purchase decision.
Confusing input and output
A power bank may accept high-power input while providing lower-power output. Read the output table for the port connected to the phone.
Using simultaneous ports without checking limits
Multi-port chargers and banks often redistribute power when more than one device is connected. Confirm the combined-output specification.
Expecting a fixed charging time
Battery temperature, charge level, software controls and model-specific behavior change the rate during a session. A charger’s maximum rating is not a charging-time guarantee.
A practical decision checklist
- Have you identified the exact Galaxy Ultra model and region?
- Does the charger or bank explicitly list USB PD and PPS?
- Is the USB-C output rating suitable for that model’s maximum?
- Is the cable rated for the charger’s current?
- Will other ports reduce the power available to the phone?
- Does the power bank’s capacity justify its weight for your trip?
- Can the bank recharge quickly enough for your schedule?
- Are pass-through behavior, dimensions and travel rules documented?
- Have you checked the current price, stock and bundle contents before ordering?
Bottom line
For a 45W-capable Samsung Galaxy Ultra, buy a 45W USB-C PD/PPS charger and pair it with a compliant cable; Samsung’s EP-TA845 is the documented reference specification. For portable charging, choose a USB-C PD/PPS power bank first, then balance capacity, recharge speed, weight, ports and travel requirements. Confirm the exact Ultra model and current regional listing before purchase, because support, bundles, prices and availability are not universal.
