Its reviewer found the device on the heavier side but said the contoured grips improved comfort; that is the reviewer’s hands-on impression, not a measured comfort rating. Is the open-box discount worth considering?
At the listed prices, the Fair unit was $210 below the new price; Good was $180 below, and Excellent was $150 below. Those differences may make the lower price worthwhile if you accept the listed condition and uncertainty about the individual returned unit. They do not establish that this is the best-value handheld: the available sources do not provide a controlled comparison with competing devices.

The Ally X runs Windows and can access game sources beyond Xbox, while its Xbox full-screen experience provides a more console-oriented way to navigate. That flexibility is useful if you want a handheld PC rather than a device limited to one storefront, but Windows game access is not the same as a guarantee that every title will work equally well on a handheld.

- Do not assume the Game Pass entitlement is unused. Best Buy advertises three months of Xbox Game Pass Premium, with terms applying. Because open-box units are individual returned items, verify with the retailer whether the specific unit still has an unused entitlement before counting it in the deal’s value.
- Compare the savings with the condition trade-off. Decide whether the difference from the new price is enough to accept possible cosmetic wear, missing packaging, or uncertainty about what is included.
