Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →No provider has an independently verified performance ranking for Arma 3 hosting in 2026. The right service depends on your player count, mission and mod load, the physical location of your group, file-access needs, and whether you want a month-to-month server or a longer prepaid term. Godlike.Host is listed first here: it offers Arma 3 servers with its own game panel, backups with restore and 10 data-center locations. GTX Gaming publishes the clearest slot, RAM, location, and example-price breakdown, and Host Havoc emphasizes Workshop collections and direct file access. Treat all three as provider-described offers, test the actual region and mod set, and confirm the checkout total before paying.
What “best” means for an Arma 3 server
Arma 3 hosting is not a simple race to the largest advertised slot number. A server can accept a certain number of connections yet struggle with a heavily scripted mission, a large AI population, or an extensive mod collection. Your practical capacity is the point at which players can join while the mission remains playable, the server simulation stays responsive, and mod updates remain manageable.

Evaluate every offer against six questions:
- How many people will actually play at once? Compare both the provider’s player slots and the mission’s expected load.
- How much memory is included, and how far can you upgrade? RAM matters when missions and mods consume more resources, but a larger allowance is not a guarantee of better performance.
- Where will the server run? The nearest listed city or region to most players usually gives you the best starting point, but only a live ping test from your group can confirm it.
- How will you install and maintain content? Workshop collections, server-only mods, custom mission files, FTP, and a file manager can make a larger difference than a headline discount.
- What is the real billing commitment? Check currency, billing term, renewal, add-ons, taxes, and any location surcharge at checkout.
- What happens if the configuration is wrong? Look for backups, support, cancellation terms, and a practical way to migrate your files.
The provider pages below describe their own products. They do not establish an independent ranking for CPU performance, uptime, latency, or value, so the recommendations are fit-based rather than a speed verdict.

Administration runs through its own Pterodactyl-based game panel, with a task scheduler, sub-users with permissions, a config editor that shares a settings file by link, and server management through a Discord bot. Files can be reached over SFTP/FTP, and a built-in mod installer and updater and the upload of custom server packs are listed. Whether they cover your exact Arma 3 Workshop collection is something to confirm with support before ordering, as with every provider here.
Up to three free backups a day are offered, with restore. You can upgrade or downgrade from the panel with prorated billing, setup takes minutes after payment, and support is available 24/7/365 by live chat or ticket. The voluntary money-back guarantee covers a first purchase only, within 3 calendar days. No Arma 3 performance figures were measured here, so run the same closed test as with any other host.
GTX Gaming: the clearest published slot and RAM examples
GTX Gaming’s current guide lists plans from 10 to 120 player slots and 19 locations worldwide. It says up to 5 GB of RAM is included, with paid upgrade tiers reaching 32 GB. The same guide gives concrete examples: £9.99 per month for 10 slots, £24.98 per month for 40 slots with 8 GB of RAM, and £42.98 per month for 80 slots with 12 GB of RAM. These are examples shown by GTX Gaming, not a promise that every mission at that slot count will run well. Verify the live cart because the guide notes that some locations can add cost and prices can change.
This option is useful when you are trying to estimate a budget before configuring a server. You can see how the listed memory allowance changes as the example slot count rises, then decide whether your mission justifies an upgrade. Do not treat the 80-slot example as an evidence-backed target for your own campaign: mission scripts, AI, view settings, and mods can make two servers with the same slot count behave very differently.
The guide also describes Workshop and server-side mod handling. It says clients need the same client-side mods as the server, while server-only mods can be listed separately. It describes using mod keys with signature checking and uploading custom mission PBO files to the MPMissions folder. Follow the provider’s current panel instructions and consult Bohemia Interactive’s dedicated-server documentation for game-specific requirements: Arma 3: Dedicated Server.
Host Havoc: Workshop collections and direct file access
Host Havoc’s Arma 3 page shows a 40-slot configuration at $20.00 per month. The page indicates that billing term and add-ons affect the final amount, so use that figure as a displayed starting configuration rather than an all-in quote.
Its strongest documented distinction is the administration workflow. The page advertises Steam Workshop installation, Workshop collections, FTP and file-manager access, and support for mods and DLC. That combination can reduce friction when a group maintains custom missions, server-side utilities, or a collection that changes regularly. Direct file access is also valuable when you need to inspect logs, replace a mission file, or preserve a known-good configuration outside the provider panel.

Host Havoc lists locations across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. A continent-level list is only a starting point: select the region closest to the majority of your players, then have several players check latency at the times you normally play. The page’s promotional language about performance should not be read as an independent speed or uptime result.
How many players can join, really?
The slot number is the provider’s connection ceiling for a configuration; it is not a guaranteed mission capacity. A 40-slot plan may be comfortable for one scenario and unsuitable for another if the mission runs intensive scripts, spawns many AI units, streams large assets, or relies on a demanding mod set.
Separate three different limits
- Advertised slots: the number of player connections sold with the plan.
- Mission capacity: the number the scenario designer expects to support without unacceptable simulation slowdown.
- Operational headroom: spare memory and processing capacity for joins, restarts, mod updates, logs, and unexpected mission load.
Start with your peak simultaneous players, not your community’s total membership. If 18 people normally attend but 30 may join during an event, price for the event only if the mission and budget justify it. Leave headroom rather than configuring exactly to the average attendance, especially when you are adding mods or AI-heavy content.
GTX Gaming’s published range of 10–120 slots shows the breadth of options available, but it does not tell you how a specific campaign will perform. Treat the figure as a purchasing boundary, then validate the actual mission with a closed test.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →How much RAM does an Arma 3 server need?
There is no single RAM number that applies to every Arma 3 server. The requirement changes with concurrent players, mission scripts, AI, map and asset size, mod count, and the amount of headroom you want for updates and restarts. A provider’s included RAM is therefore a plan feature, not an independent requirement for the game.
GTX Gaming’s guide says its plans include up to 5 GB of RAM and offer upgrades through 32 GB. Its examples pair 40 slots with 8 GB and 80 slots with 12 GB. Use those pairings as budgeting reference points from that provider, not as a universal formula. If your intended configuration sits between the examples, ask support which upgrade is available and whether the quoted memory is dedicated to your instance.
A practical sizing process
- Write down the largest number of simultaneous players you expect in the next campaign, including event peaks.
- List every required mod and identify whether each one runs on clients, the server, or both.
- Record mission features that can increase load, such as large AI forces, persistent scripts, or extensive custom assets.
- Choose a plan with room for updates and a test session rather than using every advertised megabyte at normal load.
- Observe join behavior, restart time, and simulation responsiveness with the real collection before inviting the full group.
If the panel lets you change RAM later, confirm the upgrade steps, downtime, and price before committing. An upgrade path can be more valuable than a slightly cheaper entry plan that forces migration after the first large mission.

Location and latency: choose for the group, not the marketing map
Physical distance is a useful first filter, but it is not a guarantee of a good experience. Routing, peering, home connections, and evening congestion affect each player differently. A provider may list a city as available without revealing the route your group will actually take.
Use this location test
- List the countries or cities where regular players live and identify the largest concentration.
- Shortlist the provider regions geographically closest to that concentration.
- Ask the provider whether a temporary test server or location change is available before you commit to a long term.
- Have players connect during a normal play window, not only during a quiet afternoon.
- Compare the worst recurring latency and packet-loss symptoms, not just the best single result.
Godlike.Host lists 10 data-center locations on its ping page; GTX Gaming publishes 19; and Host Havoc describes North American, European, and Asia-Pacific coverage. Those published lists help narrow the search, but only a live test of the selected location answers the question “Which location should my group use?”
Mods, Workshop collections, and custom missions
Mod administration is often the deciding factor for Arma 3 groups. Before buying, make a complete inventory of your collection and classify each item:
- Client and server mods: every player usually needs a matching client installation as well as the server copy.
- Server-only mods: these may be installed and enabled on the server without being loaded by every client; verify the provider’s current configuration method.
- Mission content: custom PBO files and dependencies must be uploaded to the correct mission directory and selected in the server configuration.
- Updates and signatures: frequent Workshop updates can create version mismatches; signature and key checking can help enforce the files you permit.
GTX Gaming specifically describes separate handling for client and server-only mods, mod keys with signature checking, and uploading custom mission PBOs to MPMissions. Host Havoc advertises Workshop installation and collections plus FTP/file-manager access. These descriptions are not interchangeable: ask each provider to demonstrate the exact workflow for your collection, including how an update is rolled back if a new version breaks the mission.
Questions to ask before ordering
- Can I import a Steam Workshop collection by its collection identifier, or must I add items individually?
- Can I install a server-only mod that is not part of the Workshop collection?
- Is FTP, SFTP, or a web file manager included, and can I download a complete backup?
- Where do custom mission PBO files and server keys go in the current panel?
- Can I lock versions or roll back a mod after an automatic Workshop update?
- What support channel handles a failed mod update, and what response hours apply?

| Host Havoc: $20.00/month | Displayed 40-slot configuration. | Billing term, add-ons, taxes, renewal, and whether the selected location changes the amount. |
Do not compare £9.99 directly with $20.00 as if they were the same currency, term, or configuration. Convert currencies using your own payment provider only after confirming each plan’s included slots and memory. A low introductory display can become a different recurring amount when you add RAM, a premium location, backups, or a longer feature package.
Term flexibility versus commitment
A month-to-month or 30-day configuration is sensible while you test a location and mod set. Longer prepaid terms can reduce administrative work, but they increase the cost of being wrong. Godlike.Host bills upgrades and downgrades from the panel pro rata, and its voluntary money-back guarantee covers a first purchase only, within 3 calendar days. Confirm refund, cancellation, and migration policies in writing before selecting a long term with any provider.
A safe setup workflow
The exact control-panel labels differ by host, but this sequence avoids most expensive mistakes.

Players cannot join because of a mod mismatch
Compare the client and server mod lists character by character, then check versions after every Workshop update. Remove optional items until the representative mission loads, and re-add them one at a time. If the provider supports signature checking, use it to detect unauthorized or mismatched files.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThe server has enough slots but the mission is sluggish
Reduce the test to the actual mission and player count, then compare behavior with fewer AI units or scripts. Check whether the plan allows a RAM upgrade and whether support can move you to a larger configuration. Do not assume that adding slots will solve a mission-simulation bottleneck.
The location looks close but players still report poor latency
Repeat the test during the normal play window and compare several players, including the person experiencing the worst symptoms. Ask whether another listed region is available and whether a move preserves files and backups.
A Workshop update breaks the campaign
Stop automatic changes if the panel permits it, restore the last known-good mod and mission files, and record the working versions. Ask support how to pin or roll back content before re-enabling updates.
The advertised price is higher at checkout
Review currency, term, RAM, location, add-ons, taxes, and renewal separately. A displayed monthly amount may represent one configuration and may exclude optional services. Save the final order summary so you can compare renewal charges later.
You need to leave the provider
Download mission PBOs, configuration files, mod lists, keys, and backups while the server is still active. Confirm what can be exported and whether the next host supports the same file paths and Workshop workflow. Migration is much easier when the group has a documented working configuration.

Which option fits your situation?
You want a full game panel with backups and Discord management
Godlike.Host is listed first for this need: its panel combines a task scheduler, sub-users with permissions, up to three free backups a day with restore, and Discord bot management, across 10 locations. Confirm Arma 3 mod handling for your collection and test the chosen region before paying.
You want transparent examples for a growing group
Start with GTX Gaming’s published slot, RAM, and location matrix. It is the easiest of these pages to use for an initial budget, especially when you are comparing a small private server with a larger public event. Validate the exact region, upgrade price, and mission behavior before paying for a high-slot plan.
Your administrator changes Workshop content frequently
Investigate Host Havoc first if Workshop collections and direct FTP or file-manager access are central to your workflow. Confirm support for your specific server-only mods and ask how complete backups are downloaded and restored.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsYou are choosing for a mixed international group
Do not select on the number of locations alone. Build a shortlist from each provider’s regions, then run the same live latency test with players in the countries that matter most. A provider with fewer advertised regions can still be the better fit if its route is cleaner for your particular group.
Pre-purchase checklist
- Peak simultaneous players and the mission’s expected AI/script load are written down.
- Included RAM and every paid upgrade step are clear.
- The chosen location has been tested by representative players.
- Your Workshop collection, server-only mods, DLC, and custom missions have a documented installation path.
- FTP or file-manager access is sufficient for your backup and migration plan.
- Backup frequency, retention, and restoration steps are understood.
- Billing currency, term, renewal, taxes, add-ons, and location charges are included in the total.
- Cancellation, refund, region changes, and migration terms are acceptable.
- You know where to find current Arma 3 dedicated-server documentation for technical settings.
After purchase, keep the invoice, the working mod list, the selected region, and a copy of your mission files together. That record is more useful than a provider badge when you need to reproduce the server or move it.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Godlike.Host is listed first here: it runs Arma 3 servers on a Pterodactyl-based panel with up to three free backups a day, free DDoS protection and 10 locations, and you can check the current Godlike.Host plans. Choose GTX Gaming when its explicit slot/RAM examples and 19-location list match your planning needs, and investigate Host Havoc when Workshop collections and direct file access are the priority. None of the cited pages establishes a verified performance ranking. Test the exact location and mod collection, then judge the checkout total and migration terms before committing.
