These descriptions show what each publisher says its app offers; they are not independent tests of update speed, notification reliability, or score accuracy. Cricbuzz’s phrase “Cricket follows you so you don’t have to follow it” is a tagline, not a measured performance claim.

How to choose an app for your matches
- Check competition coverage. Confirm that the app follows your team, league, and tournament. Coverage can change, and a long list of competitions does not guarantee every match you care about is included.
- Compare scorecard and commentary detail. Both apps describe ball-by-ball commentary; ESPNcricinfo also highlights full scorecards. Consider whether you mainly need a quick score or want a more detailed account of the innings and match.
- Look at the alerts you need. Both publishers describe alerts or notifications. The feature descriptions do not establish exactly which controls—such as following a specific team, match, or key moment—are available in every version. Check the current app’s alert settings before relying on them.
- Check language and local availability. Cricbuzz lists six Indian languages for its Indian-language Android app. Confirm that your preferred language and app version are available in your country.
- Decide whether extras matter. ESPNcricinfo lists news and videos; Cricbuzz lists news, editorials, photos, player information, rankings, and tournament tables, with videos and statistics also described in its store listing. Choose based on whether those additions are useful to you alongside scores.
Does “live” mean live video?
Not necessarily. In these app descriptions, live refers to score updates and match commentary; the listings also mention video, but do not promise that a particular match can be watched live in either app. If you want a live broadcast, check the rights and viewing options for the specific match and your region rather than assuming a score app includes it.
