Baseus 6-in-1 Steam Deck Dock is the strongest all-round alternative to the ROG Bulwark Dock DG310 because its adjustable cradle is built for Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Legion Go and Ayaneo 2S, including many cased devices. Choose the iVoler 5-in-1 when price matters most, the Valve Steam Deck Docking Station for a Steam Deck and first-party software support, or BenQ BeCreatus when you need a full desktop hub with DisplayPort and many peripherals. Keep the DG310 if HDMI 2.1 gaming features, its ROG Xbox Ally-specific stand, Bluetooth pairing and up to 80W host charging are more important than broad physical compatibility.
What the ROG Bulwark Dock DG310 actually provides
The DG310 is a six-in-one USB-C dock announced by ASUS on October 15, 2026. Its fixed host cable connects to a handheld, while the dock provides one HDMI 2.1 output, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports rated at 5Gbps, one Gigabit Ethernet port and one USB-C power input. ASUS rates the host connection for up to 80W and recommends a USB-C Power Delivery charger rated at 100W or more to achieve that maximum.

The HDMI output supports one external display at up to 4K and 144Hz or 8K and 30Hz, with HDR, variable-refresh-rate (VRR) and automatic low-latency mode (ALLM). Those features make the DG310 unusually attractive for a high-refresh gaming monitor, but they matter only if the handheld, game, cable and display all support the same mode.

The built-in stand is shaped around the ROG Xbox Ally (2025), ROG Xbox Ally X (2025) and ROG Xbox Ally X20 (2026). ASUS says other handhelds can use the ports when they support USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery, but the company does not promise that every device or protective case will fit the physical cradle. That distinction is central when choosing an alternative: electrical compatibility does not guarantee a secure stand.

In this table, “power delivery” is the dock’s advertised input or total capability unless a host-output figure is explicitly given. A dock accepting 100W does not automatically mean that 100W reaches the handheld; charging limits are set by the dock, charger, cable and handheld together.
Best broad-compatibility substitute: Baseus 6-in-1 Steam Deck Dock
Baseus is the closest general-purpose replacement when several handhelds will share one desk. Its adjustable cradle is specifically described as accommodating Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go and Ayaneo 2S, including units inside cases. That adjustable design addresses the main weakness of a fixed, device-shaped stand: you can position the support around different widths and shell shapes instead of hoping a single molded slot fits.
Its 100W power-delivery rating gives more input headroom than the DG310’s 80W host-output ceiling, although the advertised specification does not establish how much power each supported handheld receives in practice. The dock also combines HDMI 2.0, three USB-A ports, one USB-C port and Gigabit Ethernet, covering a monitor, keyboard, mouse, storage and wired networking without requiring a second hub.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhere Baseus gives up ground
- HDMI 2.0 does not provide the DG310’s stated 4K/144Hz or 8K/30Hz HDMI 2.1 ceiling.
- The available description does not state support for HDR, VRR or ALLM, so do not assume those DG310 features carry over.
- Charger inclusion is not stated; budget for a suitable USB-C PD charger if one is not supplied in your regional package.
- First-party firmware or device-specific features are not stated.
Choose Baseus when one dock must serve multiple handheld families, especially when cases remain installed. It is the most balanced choice for mixed SteamOS and Windows handheld ownership.
Best budget option: iVoler 5-in-1 Steam Deck Dock
The iVoler 5-in-1 is aimed at the simplest useful setup: connect a handheld to an HDMI display, add USB accessories and charge through USB-C. GamesRadar lists HDMI, three USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C port and 65W power delivery. That is enough for a controller, keyboard, mouse or flash drive alongside a monitor, provided your accessories do not require more ports or higher throughput.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Who should buy it
- You want the lowest-cost route to display output, USB expansion and charging.
- Your handheld does not need the DG310’s 80W host-delivery capability.
- Your monitor setup does not depend on HDMI 2.1, 4K at 144Hz, VRR or ALLM.
- You use a modest number of USB peripherals and can live without stated Ethernet or DisplayPort support.
Important limits
The available specification identifies the video connection only as HDMI; it does not state the HDMI generation or a maximum refresh rate. It also does not list an Ethernet port. Treat it as a basic display-and-USB dock rather than a like-for-like feature replacement. The 65W figure is lower than the DG310’s 80W host figure, and charger inclusion is not stated. Check the package contents and your handheld’s charging requirement before ordering.
Best for Steam Deck owners: Valve Steam Deck Docking Station
Valve’s dock is the most coherent choice when Steam Deck is your primary or only handheld. It provides HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, three USB 3.1 ports and 100W delivery, and it includes a power supply. DisplayPort is the decisive advantage for a monitor that lacks HDMI 2.1 or for a dual-display setup that uses both connector standards.

The other major advantage is maintenance: the dock receives firmware updates from the Steam Deck. That first-party path can resolve compatibility issues and keep the dock aligned with SteamOS changes without relying on a separate updater. No equivalent firmware integration is stated for the other alternatives.
The fit trade-off
The stand is made for Steam Deck. Its physical specialization is useful if you own that device, but it may not accommodate an ROG Ally or another rival handheld. The dock therefore makes more sense for a Steam Deck-first owner than for a household rotating among several Windows handhelds. It also has no stated equivalent of the DG310’s one-touch Bluetooth pairing or RGB lighting.
Best desktop hub: BenQ BeCreatus
BenQ BeCreatus is the outlier in this group: it behaves more like a full desktop hub than a compact handheld stand. GamesRadar lists HDMI, DisplayPort, two USB-C ports, five USB-A ports, 3.5mm audio, Ethernet and up to 135W total power delivery. That combination suits a desk with several peripherals, wired audio and either HDMI or DisplayPort monitors.

When its extra I/O matters
- You regularly connect multiple USB devices, external storage or capture equipment.
- Your monitor uses DisplayPort, or you want the flexibility to switch between HDMI and DisplayPort.
- You need a 3.5mm audio connection and wired networking in the same hub.
- The dock will stay on a desk rather than travel with the handheld.
What to verify before buying
The 135W figure is advertised as total power delivery; the host-device allocation is not stated. Cradle dimensions and case clearance are also not stated, so measure your handheld and compare it with the stand before treating BeCreatus as a drop-in replacement. Maximum refresh rates for its HDMI and DisplayPort outputs are not stated either. Its value comes from port count and desktop flexibility, not from a documented match for every DG310 display mode.

When keeping the DG310 is the better decision
An alternative is not automatically an upgrade. Retain the DG310 when your priorities line up with its specific strengths:
- High-refresh HDMI gaming: its documented HDMI 2.1 output reaches 4K/144Hz or 8K/30Hz and includes HDR, VRR and ALLM.
- ROG Xbox Ally stand fit: the cradle is shaped for the 2025 ROG Xbox Ally, ROG Xbox Ally X and 2026 ROG Xbox Ally X20.
- Higher host charging than the budget dock: ASUS specifies up to 80W to the handheld when paired with a 100W-or-higher USB-C PD charger.
- Convenience features: ASUS highlights one-touch Bluetooth pairing and RGB lighting.
- Wired networking: the integrated Gigabit Ethernet port avoids the latency and reliability compromises of wireless networking; ASUS says a wired connection is lower-latency and more reliable than even the best wireless setup.
If you use a Steam Deck in a thick case, a Legion Go, or several different handhelds, the stand—not the port list—may be the reason to switch.
Which dock fits each handheld scenario?
Steam Deck
Pick Valve’s Docking Station for the strongest first-party experience, included power supply, DisplayPort and firmware updates. Pick Baseus instead if the same dock must also hold ROG Ally, Legion Go or Ayaneo 2S, particularly with cases installed. iVoler is adequate for basic HDMI and USB expansion when budget is the controlling factor.
ROG Ally or another Windows handheld
Baseus is the safer multi-device choice because its adjustable cradle explicitly covers ROG Ally and several other models. The DG310 is attractive when you own one of the ROG Xbox Ally models for which ASUS shaped the stand and you want its HDMI 2.1 feature set. Do not assume that a Steam Deck-shaped cradle will securely hold a different Windows handheld.

Lenovo Legion Go or Ayaneo 2S
Baseus has the clearest stated compatibility for both models and for cased devices. For any other dock, verify the support width, connector position and case clearance rather than relying on the phrase “USB-C compatible.”
A cased handheld
Start with an adjustable cradle. Baseus is the only option here explicitly described as accommodating devices with cases. The DG310’s fixed cradle and Valve’s Steam Deck-specific cradle require a physical check; electrical support does not solve a slot that is too narrow or too shallow.
A high-refresh 4K monitor
Use the DG310’s HDMI 2.1 output if you need its stated 4K/144Hz ceiling and gaming features. Valve’s dock also has HDMI 2.1, but the available specification does not state a maximum refresh rate. Baseus uses HDMI 2.0, while the maximum rates for BeCreatus are not stated, so do not select either on the assumption that it will reproduce the DG310’s 4K/144Hz mode.
A DisplayPort monitor
Valve’s Docking Station and BenQ BeCreatus list DisplayPort. DG310 and Baseus do not list a DisplayPort output, and iVoler’s available specification lists only HDMI.

When HDMI 2.1 is worthwhile
HDMI 2.1 matters if your display and handheld can use the higher-bandwidth mode and you specifically want 4K at 144Hz or the DG310’s stated 8K/30Hz output. VRR can reduce tearing, while ALLM can switch a compatible television or monitor into a lower-latency mode. HDR depends on the game, operating system and display as well as the dock. A dock cannot create a mode the handheld’s USB-C DisplayPort output does not support.

For a 1080p or 1440p monitor, or for games that do not approach high frame rates, HDMI 2.0 may be sufficient. The practical question is your monitor’s input specification and target resolution, not the HDMI label alone.
What the 80W figure means
DG310’s 80W number is host delivery, and ASUS recommends a charger rated at least 100W. The charger must supply the dock first; the dock then negotiates power with the handheld while operating its USB, Ethernet and display circuitry. A lower-rated charger can reduce available headroom, and a cable or handheld can impose a lower limit.
Baseus advertises 100W power delivery, iVoler 65W, Valve 100W and BeCreatus up to 135W total. Those figures are not directly interchangeable because the alternatives do not all state host-output limits or how much power remains after peripherals are active. Match the dock’s documented host capability to the handheld’s requirement, then confirm whether a charger is included.
Physical-fit checklist before ordering
- Measure the handheld with its case installed. Record width, thickness and the depth needed for the USB-C plug to reach without bending.
- Check the support lip. A stand must support the device’s lower edge without covering vents, speakers or buttons.
- Confirm port alignment. Side-mounted USB-C ports can sit too high, too low or too far forward for a fixed cradle.
- Account for controllers and grips. Wide grips may exceed the stand’s opening even when the bare handheld would fit.
- Look for an adjustable mechanism. It is the strongest indicator that one dock can serve multiple models and cases.
- Read the regional listing. Model numbers, included chargers, dimensions and return terms can vary by market.
Setup procedure for any USB-C handheld dock
- Install the handheld’s current system updates. SteamOS or Windows updates can affect USB-C display, charging and Ethernet behavior.
- Connect the USB-C PD charger to the dock’s power input first. Use a charger that meets the dock’s stated requirement; DG310’s maximum host output requires a 100W-or-higher charger according to ASUS.
- Connect the display cable directly to the dock. For a high-refresh mode, use a cable and monitor input rated for the required HDMI generation.
- Seat the handheld and connect the host cable. Avoid side-load on the USB-C connector and make sure the device is stable in the cradle.
- Add Ethernet and USB peripherals. Connect wired networking before testing downloads or game streaming, then add storage and input devices one at a time.
- Set the display mode. In SteamOS, open Settings, then Display; in Windows, open Settings, System and Display. Select the monitor’s native resolution and refresh rate, then enable HDR or variable refresh only when the display reports support.
- Check charging under load. Start a demanding game and verify that the handheld continues charging rather than slowly discharging. If it does, reduce peripheral load, check the charger rating and inspect the cable.
- Apply available dock firmware. Valve’s dock can receive updates through Steam Deck. For other docks, use only the manufacturer’s documented updater and do not disconnect power during an update.
Common problems and fixes
No picture on the monitor
- Confirm the handheld supports USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode; USB-C shape alone is not enough.
- Reseat the host cable and display cable, then select the correct monitor input.
- Test at 1080p or 60Hz first. If that works, increase resolution and refresh rate to identify a bandwidth or cable limit.
- For DG310, verify that the monitor input is HDMI 2.1-capable if you are targeting 4K/144Hz.
The handheld charges slowly or not at all
- Check that the charger meets the dock’s input requirement and that the dock, not the handheld, receives the charger connection.
- Remember that the advertised dock rating may be input or total power rather than host output.
- Disconnect high-draw USB devices and retest under game load.
- Try a known-good USB-C PD cable rated for the required wattage.
USB devices disconnect
- Remove peripherals one at a time to find a power-hungry or defective device.
- Use the dock’s faster USB-C port for storage if the manufacturer specifies a speed advantage.
- On Windows, check Device Manager for USB power-management errors; on SteamOS, reboot with the dock connected.
Ethernet is missing or unstable
- Use a dock that explicitly lists Ethernet: DG310, Baseus or BenQ BeCreatus.
- Check link lights and replace the network cable before changing software settings.
- On SteamOS or Windows, disable and re-enable the wired adapter after connecting the dock.
The handheld does not sit securely
Stop using the cradle if the device rocks, the connector is under sideways pressure or the case is being compressed. Move to an adjustable model or remove the case only if doing so is acceptable for your protection needs. A dock can be electrically compatible yet physically unsuitable.
