The Galaxy S26 Ultra has the clearest documented case here: Samsung publishes its update commitment and zoom specifications, and highlights Privacy Display and DeX. The OnePlus 15 is also a relevant flagship alternative, but its support details in available comparisons are secondary-source claims that you should verify for your country. Neither is a universal winner; your camera habits, software preference, size needs and local availability should decide.
“Google Pixel Pro” covers multiple generations. This guide uses the Pixel 10 Pro XL as a current reference point, not as a claim that it is the only Pixel Pro model worth comparing. Check the exact models, configurations and prices sold in your country before choosing.

Which phones are the strongest alternatives?
The two alternatives supported by current comparison coverage are the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and OnePlus 15. Samsung’s official specifications and announcement make it possible to assess several of the S26 Ultra’s features directly. OnePlus is worth considering, but the support and hardware information cited here comes from comparison coverage rather than a verified local OnePlus policy.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
Samsung announced the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026. The company says the series will receive seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, counted from global launch. That is Samsung’s stated support policy, not an independent assessment of how long the phone will remain useful. See Samsung’s Galaxy S26 announcement for the manufacturer’s launch information.

Samsung’s UK business specifications list 3x and 5x optical zoom, 2x and 10x optical-quality zoom, and digital zoom up to 100x for the Ultra. Samsung also highlights a built-in Privacy Display and lists Samsung DeX support. These are manufacturer specifications and feature claims, not results from a controlled comparison with a Pixel. Availability and specifications can vary by market, so check the exact local model.
OnePlus 15
Android Central compares the OnePlus 15 with the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Tom’s Guide compares it with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. That coverage makes the OnePlus a sensible phone to include on a shortlist, but the support details available here are secondary-source reporting. Confirm the official software-support commitment, configuration and availability for the OnePlus 15 sold in your country before treating any duration or specification as settled. What the Pixel 10 Pro XL establishes as a baseline
Google’s Pixel 10 Pro XL specifications list a 48 MP 5x telephoto camera and seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates. Google’s general policy for Pixel 8 and later counts seven years from the device’s first availability on the US Google Store; update rollouts depend on the device and carrier. The first-availability rule is specifically stated for the US Google Store, so do not assume the same start date applies in every country.
Those published specifications and policies provide useful points of comparison, but they do not establish that Pixel photos outperform another phone or that every device receives updates on the same day. Consult Google’s Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL specifications and Google’s Pixel update policy for the current details.

Choose by the differences you will notice
Camera and zoom
Start with the focal lengths you actually use: portraits, distant subjects, concerts or everyday snapshots can call for different camera choices. Samsung lists 3x and 5x optical zoom and 2x and 10x optical-quality zoom on the S26 Ultra; Google lists a 5x telephoto camera on the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Those figures describe different camera systems and zoom labels, not a direct image-quality ranking. The sources cited here do not provide a controlled head-to-head camera test, so look for comparisons made with the exact models sold in your market if image quality is decisive.
Software and support
Choose the software experience you want to use every day: Pixel’s Google interface and features, Samsung’s One UI, or OnePlus software. The available evidence identifies different manufacturer software approaches but does not justify ranking one interface as universally better.

Compare support commitments carefully rather than treating “seven years” as a single interchangeable promise. Samsung states seven OS generations and seven years of security updates from the Galaxy S26 series’ global launch. Google states seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates for the Pixel 10 Pro XL; its broader policy says Pixel 8 and later count seven years from first availability on the US Google Store. For OnePlus, check the official terms applicable to your country and model before relying on a duration reported in comparison coverage.
Battery and charging
Battery life depends on how you use a phone, and charging needs depend on how quickly you want to top it up. The cited material does not establish a consistent independent battery comparison among these three phones. If endurance is a priority, seek tests that use the exact regional models and a comparable workload rather than assuming one brand will last longer from a specification or a single review.

Size and handling
Do not assume that a Pro model or an Ultra model will suit your hand, pocket or preferred screen size. The available specifications do not establish a full, same-market, same-generation comparison of dimensions and weight across the phones discussed here. Check the dimensions and weight of the exact local configurations in person or against their official specifications before buying.
Privacy and productivity
The S26 Ultra stands out in the available manufacturer material for its built-in Privacy Display and Samsung DeX. Privacy Display may matter if you want a screen feature intended to limit side viewing; DeX may matter if desktop-style productivity is part of your routine. These features are reasons to investigate Samsung, not proof that it is the right choice for every Pixel owner.

- Consider the Galaxy S26 Ultra if Samsung’s listed zoom options, Privacy Display, DeX or its stated update policy match your priorities.
- Consider the OnePlus 15 if you want to compare another current Android flagship and are willing to verify local support terms and availability directly.
- Keep the Pixel 10 Pro XL in the comparison if Google’s software experience, 5x telephoto camera or published update policy are important to you.
