For phones, tablets and laptop M2/M2.5 screws, the HOTO Precision Screwdriver Kit Pro is the most convincing alternative to the Fanttik S1 Pro. HOTO limits powered torque to 0.2 N·m while retaining a 3 N·m manual maximum, whereas the S1 Pro starts at 1.5 N·m in powered mode. That difference gives delicate fasteners a much larger safety margin. Xiaomi is a compact 24-bit option, Wowstick 1F+ offers pen-style handling and 56 bits, and the battery-free iFixit Mako supplies 64 bits with maximum tactile control. Keep the S1 Pro for larger PC, machine and general-assembly screws where its higher torque is useful.
The short answer: which S1 Pro alternative should you buy?
The right replacement depends on whether you need low powered torque, a large bit library, pen ergonomics or no battery at all. The following choices cover the main precision-repair use cases without pretending that one driver is ideal for every fastener.

| Best for | Pick | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest powered torque with manual backup | HOTO Precision Screwdriver Kit Pro | 0.2 N·m electric maximum and 3 N·m manual maximum |
| Compact everyday electric kit | Xiaomi Electric Precision Screwdriver | Two-speed control, 24 S2 bits and magnetic storage |
| Pen handling and bit variety | Wowstick 1F+ | 0.15 N·m rated torque, 200 rpm, LEDs and 56 bits |
| Battery-free precision work | iFixit Mako 64-bit Driver Kit | 64 purpose-selected bits and an aluminum manual handle |
| Larger screws and general assembly | Fanttik S1 Pro | 1.5, 3 and 4.2 N·m powered levels, with up to 6 N·m hard torque |
Before buying, identify the smallest fasteners you will actually turn. A tool that is excellent on desktop panels can be unnecessarily aggressive on a phone motherboard shield. Torque, not the number of bits or the presence of a motor, is the first filter.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Those figures describe a cordless general-purpose driver rather than a very-low-torque electronics pen. The important number for a tiny screw is the lowest powered setting. If the first powered level is already 1.5 N·m, selecting a lower setting on the tool is not possible.
Fanttik’s own support guidance says M2 and M2.5 laptop screws need substantially less torque and recommends a 0.05–0.6 N·m precision-electric-screwdriver class. That guidance also explains why a driver can feel smooth yet still damage a small fastener: the motor reaches the screw with more turning force than the thread, insert or head was designed to tolerate.
What excessive torque can do
- Strip a shallow Phillips, Torx or pentalobe recess before the bit has fully seated.
- Pull a small threaded insert out of plastic or a thin metal bracket.
- Crack a display, camera module or board-mounted shield when the screw bottoms out.
- Make later removal difficult because the head is damaged or the thread is over-compressed.
These are risk explanations, not a claim that every S1 Pro use will cause damage. On a desktop side panel, a larger machine screw or furniture fastener, the S1 Pro’s torque range can be appropriate. The mismatch appears when its minimum setting is compared with the much lower torque class recommended for laptop-size screws.
How the alternatives compare
The table separates documented torque from features that are useful but do not establish torque. “Not stated” means the cited product information does not provide a comparable figure; it is not an estimate.
| Driver | Powered torque | Manual torque or override | Speed | Bits | Power and controls |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fanttik S1 Pro | 1.5 / 3 / 4.2 N·m | 8 N·m manual; 6 N·m maximum hard torque | 220 rpm | 16 S2 magnetic bits | 2000 mAh rechargeable battery |
| HOTO Precision Screwdriver Kit Pro | 0.2 N·m electric maximum | 3 N·m manual maximum | 170 rpm no-load | Not stated in the supplied specification | 350 mAh lithium-ion battery; USB charging |
| Xiaomi Electric Precision Screwdriver | Not stated; two-speed torque control | Not stated | Not stated | 24 S2 precision bits | Magnetic storage container |
| Wowstick 1F+ | 0.15 N·m rated torque | Manual operation supported | 200 rpm | 56 S2 alloy-steel bits | Lithium battery, three LEDs, forward/reverse |
| iFixit Mako | None; manual driver | Hand-applied torque through aluminum handle | Not applicable | 64 purpose-selected bits | No battery or charging requirement |
Powered torque ratings are not perfectly interchangeable: one manufacturer may publish a maximum, another a rated value, and another no number at all. Use the figures as selection guidance, not as a laboratory ranking. Bit fit, downward pressure and the condition of the screw remain critical.

HOTO Precision Screwdriver Kit Pro: best low-torque electric replacement
HOTO is the closest specification match for someone who likes powered driving but finds the S1 Pro’s first level too strong. Its manual specifies a 0.2 N·m electric maximum torque and a 3 N·m manual maximum. That places powered operation below the S1 Pro’s 1.5 N·m minimum while preserving extra hand force for a screw that has already broken free but needs manual turning.
Where HOTO fits
- Phones, tablets, cameras and watches with small fasteners.
- Delicate covers where controlled powered seating matters more than speed.
- Repairs that occasionally encounter a stubborn screw and need a manual override.
The documented no-load speed is 170 rpm. Its 350 mAh lithium-ion battery charges over USB. Neither specification establishes runtime, so plan to charge it before a long repair rather than assuming a particular number of screws per charge.
How to use the low-torque approach
- Match the bit to the screw recess and press straight down before engaging the motor.
- Run the driver only until the head is seated; stop as soon as resistance rises at the bottom of the thread.
- For removal, use powered reverse only after confirming the bit is fully seated. If the screw does not move promptly, stop and use the handle manually.
- Use the 3 N·m manual capability for breakout force, then return to light powered operation once the screw turns freely.
Check the exact regional kit and seller before purchase. Accessory bundles and availability can vary, and the manual’s torque figures should not be silently applied to a different HOTO model.
Xiaomi Electric Precision Screwdriver: compact coverage for routine repairs
The Xiaomi kit emphasizes a small footprint and an organized bit system. Xiaomi lists two-speed torque control, 24 S2 precision bits and a magnetic storage container. It is described for dismantling and assembling standard electronics and small household appliances.
Why choose Xiaomi
- The 24-bit selection gives more coverage than the S1 Pro’s 16 included bits.
- Two speed settings let you favor control or faster screw removal without relying on a single fixed speed.
- The magnetic container keeps bits together during a repair and reduces setup time.
Xiaomi’s cited information does not state a comparable N·m torque figure or a manual-torque rating. Therefore it is not possible to confirm from the supplied specification that its minimum powered torque falls within the 0.05–0.6 N·m class recommended for the smallest laptop screws. Treat the two-speed control as useful handling information, not proof of a particular torque ceiling.

Best use and limits
Choose this kit for routine electronics and small-appliance work when compact storage and a broad everyday bit set are priorities. For a first repair on an especially fragile device, verify the exact regional model’s torque documentation and test on a non-critical fastener before driving a screw into a board-adjacent bracket.

The Wowstick 1F+ manual lists 0.15 N·m rated torque, 200 rpm, an aluminum body, a lithium battery, LED lighting and 56 S2 alloy-steel bits. SparkFun’s description confirms manual operation, reverse drive, rechargeable power and three LEDs, and positions the tool for electronic devices.
Why the pen shape matters
A pen-style driver encourages a light fingertip grip and keeps the tool aligned with the screw. That can be more comfortable than a larger pistol-style handle when you are working inside a phone, camera, game console or computer. The LEDs illuminate the bit area, useful when a hand or enclosure wall casts a shadow over a recessed screw.
What the 0.15 N·m rating means
Wowstick’s 0.15 N·m figure is identified as a rated torque, not a maximum. It is lower than the HOTO electric maximum and far below the S1 Pro’s first setting, so it is oriented toward delicate work. Rated, maximum and hard-torque values describe different test points; do not treat the three labels as directly equivalent.
The 56-bit assortment is the largest electric set in this comparison. Listings can differ by revision, charging connector and bit count, so confirm the package contents rather than assuming every 1F+ listing contains the same accessories.

iFixit Mako 64-bit Driver Kit: the battery-free choice
The iFixit Mako is a manual kit rather than an electric screwdriver. Its datasheet describes 64 purpose-selected bits and an ergonomic aluminum handle designed for torque and grip. There is no motor to overrun a tiny screw and no battery to charge.
Why manual control remains valuable
- You feel the screw break free, bottom out or begin to cam out through the handle.
- Runtime is unlimited, which is useful for long teardown and reassembly sessions.
- There is no powered setting to select incorrectly on a delicate board cover.
- Hand force can be increased gradually instead of arriving as a motor pulse.
Manual does not mean risk-free. Excessive hand force can still strip a recess or damage a thread. Use the correct bit, keep it perpendicular, apply firm downward pressure and stop when the screw reaches the end of its travel.
When Mako is the better purchase
Select it when tactile feedback and bit coverage matter more than powered speed, or when you want a dependable backup for any electric driver. The 64-bit library is useful if your repairs span Phillips, Torx, security and other specialty heads, but the datasheet’s “purpose-selected” description does not mean every bit is needed for every device.
Choosing by device and fastener
| Repair situation | Most suitable option | Reasoning | Check before starting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phone or tablet chassis | HOTO or Wowstick 1F+ | Both document low powered torque; Wowstick adds pen handling and LEDs | Bit size, recess depth and nearby flex cables |
| Laptop M2/M2.5 screws | HOTO, Wowstick or manual Mako | These avoid the S1 Pro’s 1.5 N·m minimum; Fanttik recommends a 0.05–0.6 N·m class | Whether the screw is entering plastic, a thin bracket or a metal insert |
| Camera or game-console repair | HOTO, Wowstick or Xiaomi | Low-to-moderate control and varied precision bits suit mixed fasteners | Specialty security heads and clearance around the lens or board |
| Standard electronics and small appliances | Xiaomi or Wowstick | Compact kits with broad bit assortments | Exact regional kit and included bits |
| Desktop PC side panels and larger machine screws | Fanttik S1 Pro | Its 1.5–4.2 N·m powered range is intended for substantially larger fasteners than laptop screws | Use the lowest suitable level and stop before overtightening |
| Furniture or general assembly | Fanttik S1 Pro | Higher torque and 2000 mAh capacity suit general-purpose driving better than a precision pen | Fastener size, material and manufacturer torque guidance |
| Long teardown with no charging access | iFixit Mako | Manual operation has unlimited runtime | Have the correct bit available before opening the device |
Safe technique matters as much as the driver
1. Identify the screw and material
Note the head type, approximate diameter and what it enters. An M2 screw in a thin laptop bracket is a different job from a large PC case screw even if both use a cross-shaped head.

2. Select the exact bit
The bit should fill the recess without rocking. A bit that is too small concentrates force on the corners; one that is too large will not seat fully. S2 bits are a material specification, not a guarantee that every size fits your device.

3. Seat before turning
Hold the tool perpendicular to the screw and apply enough downward pressure to keep the bit engaged. Start at the lowest available powered setting or use the manual handle.
4. Stop at resistance changes
During removal, stop if the screw does not move smoothly. During installation, stop when the head is flush or the screw reaches the device’s intended depth. A motor continuing after the screw bottoms out is the common path to stripped heads and damaged inserts.
5. Keep removed screws organized
Store screws by location in a tray or labeled compartments. Bit storage systems help, but neither a magnetic case nor a powered driver replaces a location map for screws of different lengths.

Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
Mistaking speed for suitability
A higher rpm removes a loose screw faster, but it does not make a driver safer on a fragile thread. The S1 Pro’s 220 rpm is only one part of its specification; its 1.5 N·m minimum is the decisive issue for tiny laptop fasteners.
Comparing unlike torque labels
HOTO publishes an electric maximum and a manual maximum. Wowstick lists rated torque. Fanttik lists powered levels, hard torque and manual torque. Xiaomi’s supplied information lists two-speed control without a comparable N·m number. Keep those categories separate when evaluating a purchase.
Assuming every listing has the same accessories
Regional bundles and revisions can change bit counts, charging connectors or storage items. This is particularly relevant to Wowstick 1F+ listings and to HOTO kits. Confirm the exact model designation and contents before paying.
Using the biggest driver because it is already owned
If your work is mostly phones and laptops, a lower-torque precision driver is a better first tool than adapting a general-purpose driver down to a setting it does not provide. Retain the S1 Pro for larger jobs rather than forcing one tool to cover incompatible torque ranges.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →A practical decision process
- Define the smallest fastener. If it is an M2/M2.5 laptop screw or a similarly delicate device screw, target the 0.05–0.6 N·m precision class cited by Fanttik’s support guidance.
- Decide whether you want powered driving. Choose HOTO, Xiaomi or Wowstick for motor assistance; choose Mako for direct hand feedback and unlimited runtime.
- Set your bit priority. Pick Xiaomi for a compact 24-bit kit, Wowstick for 56 electric bits or Mako for 64 manual bits. Do not count bits without checking the specific head sizes you need.
- Decide how you will handle a stuck screw. HOTO offers a documented 3 N·m manual maximum; Wowstick supports manual operation; Mako is manual by design. Xiaomi’s supplied specification does not state a manual-torque figure.
- Reserve the S1 Pro for the right scale. Its 1.5, 3 and 4.2 N·m powered levels are sensible for larger PC, machine and assembly fasteners, not a reason to use it on every precision screw.
Verdict
For a direct S1 Pro replacement in delicate electronics, buy the HOTO Precision Screwdriver Kit Pro: its 0.2 N·m powered maximum addresses the S1 Pro’s high minimum while its 3 N·m manual maximum handles occasional resistance. Choose Wowstick 1F+ instead if pen ergonomics, LEDs and 56 bits are more important. Xiaomi is the compact, polished 24-bit choice when its unspecified torque is acceptable for your work. Choose the iFixit Mako when you want 64 bits, tactile feedback and no battery dependence. Keep the Fanttik S1 Pro for larger fasteners where its higher torque range is an advantage rather than a liability.
