Ring lists 1920 x 1920 video and a 173-degree diagonal field of view. That is slightly narrower diagonally than Arlo’s 180 degrees, but the horizontal and vertical measurements are explicitly listed as 140 degrees each. Two cameras solve a different problem than a larger diagonal number
The E340 uses a 2048 x 1536 2K main camera and a separate 1600 x 1200 1080p downward camera. Its stated viewing angle is 160 degrees, although the specification does not identify whether that number is diagonal, horizontal or vertical. The downward lens is aimed at the floor and the area directly below the doorbell, where a single forward-facing camera can miss parcels placed close to the threshold.

This makes the E340 the stronger choice for a reader asking, “Which doorbell shows packages on the ground?” A 180-degree diagonal figure on one lens does not guarantee that the bottom edge of the image includes the doormat. A dedicated downward camera gives the device a separate view of that zone.
Storage and subscription position
The E340 has 8 GB of onboard storage. eufy states that recordings can be stored on the doorbell and that the device works without a required subscription. That combination is useful when you want event clips available locally rather than depending on a recurring cloud plan. Local storage still needs practical management: protect the doorbell from unauthorized removal, review retention behavior in the current app and export important clips before they are overwritten.
Power and night viewing
The E340 supports battery or wired power and includes color night vision. Battery installation is useful where no doorbell cable exists; wired operation avoids regular removal for charging. There is no single universal Nest specification
Google publishes Nest Doorbell specifications by model and generation. Its comparison page lists current wired and battery versions with different resolutions, including 2K HDR and 960p HDR variants. Because the video resolution, power method and available Google Home features change between models, “Google Nest Doorbell” is not precise enough to identify one field of view or one recording experience.

How to select the correct model
- Decide whether the existing installation is wired or whether you need a battery model.
- Open the exact model and generation in Google’s comparison page rather than relying on a generic Nest Doorbell description.
- Confirm the listed resolution, HDR support and any feature requirements for your Google Home setup.
- Check the model-specific viewing angle and history options; the supplied Google specifications do not establish one universal FOV number for the entire range.
Nest is the ecosystem choice when your household already uses Google Home displays, speakers or automations. It is not the best answer if your only requirement is the widest measured angle, because Google publishes different figures by model and the supplied comparison does not provide one value that applies to all Nest Doorbells.

Ring’s wired 2K model is designed for installations with reliable low-voltage doorbell wiring. Ring lists Retinal 2K video and up to 6x enhanced zoom. Because it is fully wired, you do not remove the unit to recharge a battery and do not have to plan around battery depletion during periods of heavy motion activity.
This option makes the most sense at a house or apartment where the existing transformer and wiring are dependable and the owner values uninterrupted power over a battery installation. The supplied specifications do not state a field-of-view measurement for this model, so do not assume that its 2K label means it covers the same area as either Arlo’s 180-degree diagonal view or the Ring battery model’s 173-degree figure.
How to compare wide-angle doorbells correctly
Resolution and aspect ratio
“2K” is not one fixed pixel count. Arlo specifies 1944 x 1944, Ring Battery 2K specifies 1920 x 1920, and the E340’s main camera specifies 2048 x 1536. The first two are square; the E340 is wider than it is tall and adds a second, lower-resolution camera. Compare the actual dimensions and the frame shape when your goal is seeing a person’s full body or the doorstep.
Diagonal versus horizontal and vertical FOV
A diagonal field-of-view number spans the corner-to-corner angle. Horizontal and vertical numbers describe the width and height separately. They cannot be swapped or ranked as if they were the same measurement. Arlo’s 180-degree figure and Ring Battery 2K’s 173-degree figure are diagonal; Ring additionally lists 140 degrees horizontally and vertically. The E340’s 160-degree figure is not identified by measurement direction in the supplied specification.

Package visibility
For parcels, camera placement and lens direction often matter more than the largest diagonal number. A forward-facing lens can show a visitor clearly while the bottom of the frame ends above a package. A downward camera, as on the E340, is specifically designed to cover that blind spot. If you select a single-lens doorbell, mount it at the manufacturer’s recommended height and angle, then check a test parcel from the app before finalizing the installation.
Power decision: battery, trickle charging or wired

Night performance, weather and installation checks
Color night vision is specifically listed for the E340. The supplied specifications do not provide a single comparable night-mode or weather-rating figure for every model, so verify the manufacturer’s rating for the exact generation before mounting it outdoors. Lighting, porch overhang, rain on the lens and a bright wall close to the camera can change the practical result even when two products have similar daytime resolution.

Installation checklist
- Measure the existing doorbell voltage if you plan to use wired or trickle-charging operation; Ring’s battery model specifies 8–24 VAC compatibility.
- Mark the mounting height so the visitor’s face and the threshold are both visible.
- Check the camera’s live view from the expected standing position and from the floor where a parcel will be placed.
- Adjust privacy zones to mask neighboring property or public areas where appropriate.
- Test the chime, notifications, night view and clip retrieval before tightening the final mount.
- If using local storage, confirm that clips are being written to the device and learn the export procedure.
