The strongest alternatives to InMobi are Google AdMob mediation, AppLovin MAX, and Unity LevelPlay. For most publishers, the better move is not a one-for-one replacement: use one of these mediation platforms, then add demand sources such as Liftoff Monetize, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, and other bidders. That approach lets an auction or waterfall choose among buyers instead of making one network responsible for every impression.
No official source establishes a universal eCPM, fill-rate, latency, or payout winner. Your result will vary by country, iOS or Android traffic, app category, ad format, audience cohort, account eligibility, and payment terms.

What an InMobi alternative should do
“Alternative” can mean two different things in mobile advertising. A mediation platform controls multiple demand sources through one integration, while an individual ad network supplies bids or waterfall demand inside that mediation layer. AdMob, MAX, and LevelPlay are mediation choices. Liftoff Monetize, Meta Audience Network, and Unity Ads are primarily demand sources that can be added to a mediator.
InMobi describes mediation as a way to “manage and optimize multiple advertising partners with just one SDK integration.” That model is useful when you want to change buyers without repeatedly rebuilding your app. The SDK is only one part of the work: every added network may require an adapter, account credentials, consent configuration, policy review, and ongoing version maintenance.

Shortlist at a glance
| Option | Role | Documented capabilities | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob mediation | Full mediation platform with Google demand | Mediation adapters and ad-source optimization that can automate the ordering of mediation chains; feature support varies by source | Publishers prioritizing Google demand, broad adapter coverage, and automated source ordering |
| AppLovin MAX | Full mediation platform | AppLovin adapter support is documented for rewarded, interstitial, and banner/MREC inventory in Unity’s Android network table | Teams that need a dedicated mediation layer, especially for rewarded and interstitial placements |
| Unity LevelPlay | Full mediation platform | Broad partner catalog with documented bidding modes and columns for rewarded, interstitial, banner/MREC, and native inventory | Game studios and publishers wanting detailed partner controls and many bidding sources |
| Liftoff Monetize (formerly Vungle) | Demand source | LevelPlay documentation lists rewarded, interstitial, and banner/MREC support; Unity’s Android table lists an adapter | A supplemental bidder or waterfall source in a mediation stack |
| Meta Audience Network | Demand source | Listed as a bidding source with rewarded, interstitial, banner/MREC, and native support in Unity’s network documentation | Publishers with eligible traffic in regions where Meta demand is available |
| Unity Ads | Demand source | Unity says it can be added as an in-app bidding network through AppLovin, Google, or LevelPlay | Games and apps that want another bidder without adopting Unity as the primary mediator |
LevelPlay’s mediated-network table also lists ironSource Ads, Amazon Publisher Services, AppLovin, Google AdMob, Pangle, Mintegral, Moloco, Ogury, PubMatic, Smaato, and other sources. Availability, formats, and bidding mode are source-specific, so treat the table as a menu to verify rather than a promise that every partner works in every country or operating system.
Google AdMob mediation
Why publishers choose it
AdMob combines Google demand with a mediation layer and a documented adapter ecosystem. Its ad-source optimization feature can automate the ordering of mediation chains, reducing the need to maintain a manually sorted waterfall. That is particularly useful when you have many sources and want the system to adjust ordering as observed performance changes.
What to verify before migrating
- Check that every network and ad format you plan to use has a current AdMob adapter for both Android and iOS.
- Confirm which features are available for each source; AdMob explicitly notes that support varies by ad source.
- Review Google’s current consent, privacy, invalid-traffic, and app-readiness requirements for your target regions.
- Map existing InMobi placements to AdMob ad units without changing the user experience during the first test.
When AdMob is the sensible first test
Choose AdMob mediation when Google demand is important, you want a broadly documented adapter model, or your team prefers automated source ordering over a heavily hand-tuned waterfall. It is not a guarantee of the highest revenue: the useful comparison is your app’s net revenue and user experience by country and format.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsAppLovin MAX
What MAX replaces
MAX is a direct mediation alternative rather than a single demand source. InMobi lists AppLovin MAX among its mediation integrations, and Unity’s Android network table documents AppLovin adapter support for rewarded, interstitial, and banner/MREC inventory.
Where it can be attractive
- Rewarded-video and interstitial-heavy apps can keep those placements in a mediation system built around multiple demand partners.
- A dedicated mediation dashboard can be preferable to operating one network’s standalone SDK.
- Unity Ads can be added as an in-app bidding source through MAX, giving game publishers another buyer without replacing the mediator.
Migration checks
Confirm the current MAX SDK and adapter versions for every platform, then verify that your intended sources support the same formats and auction mode in your target regions. Do not assume that a network’s Android support automatically applies to iOS, or that a rewarded integration also covers native or banner inventory.
Unity LevelPlay
Why its partner breadth matters
LevelPlay publishes a mediated-network table with partner names, bidding mode, and support columns for rewarded, interstitial, banner/MREC, and native inventory. That makes it easier to design a stack around the formats your app actually shows instead of selecting partners by brand familiarity.
Unity also states that Unity Ads can be added as an in-app bidding network through LevelPlay, MAX, or Google mediation. A studio already using Unity or ironSource tooling may therefore add Unity Ads while retaining a neutral mediation layer.

Best use cases
- Games that depend on rewarded and interstitial demand and need several competing bidders.
- Teams willing to maintain adapters and review partner-level format support.
- Publishers that want to compare many demand sources in one mediation environment rather than operate isolated SDK waterfalls.
Important qualification
A long partner list does not mean every source is available to every publisher. Account approval, regional demand, app content, privacy declarations, and platform support can remove options from the practical set. Build a shortlist from the partners that can actually onboard your app.
Demand sources to add instead of making a single replacement
Liftoff Monetize
Liftoff Monetize, formerly Vungle, is documented as a mediated source with rewarded, interstitial, and banner/MREC support in LevelPlay. Unity’s Android table also lists an adapter. It is best evaluated as one competitor in an auction or waterfall, not as a guaranteed InMobi substitute across all geographies.
Meta Audience Network
Meta Audience Network is listed as a bidding source with rewarded, interstitial, banner/MREC, and native support in Unity’s documentation. Eligibility and regional performance need to be checked for your account; a format appearing in a partner table does not guarantee approval or demand for your app.
Unity Ads
Unity Ads can bid through LevelPlay, MAX, or Google mediation. This lets a publisher add Unity demand without selecting Unity as the sole mediation platform. Verify the adapter, consent flow, and format mapping for each mediator you operate.
Other sources
LevelPlay’s documentation names ironSource Ads, Amazon Publisher Services, AppLovin, Google AdMob, Pangle, Mintegral, Moloco, Ogury, PubMatic, Smaato, and others. Chartboost documents both bidding and waterfall mediation and lists AdMob/Google, AppLovin, InMobi, Liftoff Monetize, Meta Audience Network, and Unity Ads among its partners. These options can increase buyer competition, but every additional SDK increases maintenance, privacy review, and troubleshooting work.
Bidding, waterfalls, and hybrid mediation
In-app bidding
In bidding, eligible buyers submit prices for an impression at the time it is requested. The mediator then compares bids and serves the winning eligible ad. Bidding can reduce manual price-tier maintenance, but it still depends on adapter health, timeout behavior, buyer eligibility, and the quality of the auction inputs.

Waterfall mediation
A waterfall calls sources in a configured order, usually based on historical price tiers or expected value. It offers explicit control and can be useful when a source does not support bidding. The cost is operational: teams must review performance, adjust tiers, and avoid long chains that increase latency or produce stale ordering.
Hybrid setups
Many publishers combine bidders with waterfall sources. A practical design is to let supported bidders compete first, then retain carefully selected waterfall partners as backfill. Test timeout settings and no-fill behavior; a theoretically higher bid is not useful if it causes a slow request or fails to render.

Compare alternatives on the dimensions that affect revenue
1. Role and control
Decide whether you need a replacement mediator or simply more demand. Replacing InMobi with another single network leaves you exposed to that network’s geography and policy decisions. Replacing the mediation layer is a larger engineering project but gives you control over multiple sources.
2. Format coverage
List every placement—rewarded, interstitial, banner or MREC, and native—and check support per source and platform. Do not infer native support from rewarded support. Keep separate placement IDs where the mediator requires them.
3. SDK and adapter maintenance
Unity’s Android table publishes adapter versions for sources including AppLovin, Google AdMob, InMobi, Liftoff Monetize, and Meta Audience Network. Versions change, so assign ownership for upgrades, release testing, and rollback. A mediation migration is incomplete until the adapters are pinned, tested, and documented for both Android and iOS.

4. Reporting and diagnostics
Require placement-level revenue, impressions, requests, fills, show rate, clicks, crashes, and latency where available. Reconcile mediator totals with each source’s payout report; differences can result from time zones, attribution windows, invalid-traffic filtering, or reporting delays.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to migrate from InMobi without losing control
- Inventory the current stack. Record SDK versions, adapters, ad-unit IDs, placement triggers, frequency caps, floor settings, consent signals, and every country in which ads are served.
- Choose a primary mediator. Shortlist AdMob, MAX, and LevelPlay against your platform mix, preferred formats, existing tooling, and reporting requirements.
- Create and verify accounts. Complete publisher, app, payment, tax, and policy checks before a production cutover. Approval delays are a business risk, not an SDK bug.
- Integrate the mediator SDK. Add the Android and iOS SDKs using the provider’s current integration instructions. Keep the old InMobi path available behind a feature flag until the new path is stable.
- Add adapters one at a time. Start with a small set of demand sources whose formats match your highest-value placements. Record adapter versions and required initialization parameters.
- Recreate placements. Map rewarded, interstitial, banner/MREC, and native units separately. Confirm that callbacks fire correctly for load, show, click, completion, and failure events.
- Configure bidding and waterfall rules. Enable supported bidders, set conservative timeouts, and retain backfill sources where necessary. Avoid adding every available network on day one.
- Implement consent and privacy signals. Pass the required consent state to the mediator and each adapter. Test consent granted, denied, unavailable, and withdrawn states on clean installs.
- Run a controlled release. Use a remote configuration or staged rollout so you can compare the new stack with the existing one without exposing every user to an untested change.
- Validate revenue and reliability. Compare request-to-impression conversion, show rate, eCPM, ARPDAU, latency, crash rate, session length, and retention by country, platform, format, and cohort.
- Roll out or revert. Keep the old configuration recoverable until reporting reconciles and no critical policy, crash, or rendering issue remains.
How to test whether an alternative is actually better
Use matched cohorts
Run the same placement design and frequency rules for comparable users. Separate Android from iOS, and split countries rather than averaging them into one global result. A change that helps one region can reduce revenue or retention elsewhere.
Track the complete funnel
- Request rate: whether the app asks for an ad when it should.
- Fill rate: how often an eligible request returns an ad.
- Show rate: how often a loaded ad is actually displayed.
- eCPM and ARPDAU: price and user-level monetization, interpreted with the same reporting window and currency.
- Latency: time added to the request and to the user’s next action.
- Retention and session behavior: whether ad frequency or slow loading harms continued use.
- Stability: crashes, freezes, ANRs, failed callbacks, and consent-related errors.
Change one major variable at a time
If you replace the mediator, add five networks, change floors, and alter frequency caps simultaneously, you will not know what caused the result. Start with a baseline, then add or remove one source or rule while preserving the rest of the setup.

Ads stop showing after the switch
Check app and ad-unit identifiers, adapter initialization, consent state, platform-specific credentials, and whether the source approved the app. Review load and show callbacks before changing floors or waterfalls.

Revenue falls even though eCPM rises
A higher eCPM can accompany lower fill or show rate. Compare total revenue per active user and impressions per session, not eCPM alone. Also check whether a longer timeout causes users to abandon a placement.
One platform works and the other does not
Android and iOS adapters, privacy requirements, and account settings can differ. Maintain separate checklists and test devices for each platform instead of assuming parity.
Consent errors appear only in some countries
Exercise every regional consent branch on a clean install, confirm the mediator receives the expected state before initialization, and verify that each adapter honors the same state. A default-denied or missing signal can reduce eligibility or trigger policy issues.
The app becomes harder to maintain
Every added network increases SDK size, initialization paths, release work, and failure combinations. Remove sources that do not improve net revenue, coverage, or reliability after a controlled test; more integrations are not automatically better.

Choose AdMob mediation when
- Google demand is strategically important.
- You want documented adapters and automated ad-source ordering.
- Your team prefers a broad general-purpose mediation platform.
Choose MAX when
- Rewarded, interstitial, and banner/MREC placements dominate your monetization plan.
- You want a dedicated mediation alternative and intend to add several demand sources.
- You are prepared to verify current adapter and platform support during migration.
Choose LevelPlay when
- You operate a game or app with substantial rewarded and interstitial inventory.
- You value a broad partner catalog with documented bidding and format columns.
- Your team can manage partner approvals, adapters, consent, and ongoing optimization.
Add Liftoff, Meta, Unity Ads, or other sources when
- You already have a mediator and want more buyer competition.
- The source is eligible for your app and target countries.
- Its supported formats and adapter maintenance cost justify the additional integration.
Final recommendation
Start with a mediation platform rather than searching for a single network to replace InMobi everywhere. Test AdMob, MAX, and LevelPlay against your app’s actual countries, platforms, formats, and cohorts, then add Liftoff Monetize, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, and other eligible bidders where they improve the measured mix. The winning stack is the one that delivers the best combination of net revenue, fill, latency, reliability, policy compliance, and engineering effort for your app—not the provider with the broadest feature list.
