The best alternative depends on what you want Bee to do. For spoken answers, reminders, messages, calls, navigation and help that can use what you are looking at, Meta’s AI-glasses family is the strongest fit. Meta says its glasses are sold through Amazon, making Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses the clearest Amazon-searchable option. For Bee-like conversation capture, summaries and searchable personal memory, the Omi AI pendant is the closer match. Limitless is useful historical context, but its own service notice says the Pendant is no longer sold and availability is restricted in several countries.
Amazon Bee itself now spans a wrist-worn or clip-on recorder, called Bee Frontier, and a magnetic phone attachment, Bee Eclipse. Bee Pro adds several advanced assistant and memory features. The comparison below separates visual assistance from conversation memory so you can choose a device that matches your actual workflow rather than buying a wearable that solves a different problem.

What Amazon Bee offers now
Amazon’s current Bee lineup is built around ambient capture. Bee Frontier can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing, while Bee Eclipse attaches magnetically to a phone. Amazon describes Bee as turning conversations into summaries, insights and relevant to-dos. That makes it different from a conventional voice assistant that waits for a wake word and answers one request at a time.
Bee Frontier
Amazon’s 2026 product page lists up to seven days, or 160 hours, of battery life for Bee Frontier. The same page lists Google, Alexa and Amazon.com integrations. The device is intended to stay with you during the day, capture speech and process it into useful notes rather than requiring you to type during a conversation.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Bee Eclipse
Bee Eclipse is a magnetic phone attachment. It gives people who do not want a separate wrist or clothing wearable another way to use Bee’s capture workflow. Because it attaches to a phone, your experience will depend more heavily on keeping that phone with you and on the phone-side software and connection.
What Bee Pro changes
Amazon says Bee Pro adds unlimited recent conversation summaries, Alexa+ and Amazon.com integrations, third-party integrations, suggested to-dos, daily memories, a personal chat assistant, conversation templates and a desktop app. Amazon has also added Voice Notes, which lets you capture a thought instantly. Those features matter if you want Bee to become a continuing personal knowledge system rather than an occasional recorder.
TechCrunch reported Amazon’s Bee acquisition announcement on July 22, 2025 and described Bee as a wearable that records and transcribes speech. That date explains why Bee is now part of Amazon’s device and Alexa strategy; it is not evidence of a current price, subscription or regional launch status.

Choose by primary job, not by gadget shape
Hands-free AI products fall into three practical categories. The first is an assistant that answers questions and performs actions while you are moving. The second adds visual context, so the system can respond to what is in front of you. The third continuously or routinely captures conversations and turns them into memory, summaries and tasks. A product can overlap categories, but it rarely performs all three equally well.
| Primary need | Best researched fit | Why | Main compromise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spoken answers, reminders, messages, calls and navigation | Meta AI glasses | Meta describes voice commands for these everyday tasks and offers both visual and audio-focused models. | Glasses can be socially conspicuous, and model capabilities differ. |
| Visual context and information in your field of view | Meta Ray-Ban Display or another Meta visual model | Meta says Ray-Ban Display adds notifications, navigation, answers and translation in the lens. | Camera-equipped or display-equipped hardware requires more careful privacy and social etiquette. |
| Conversation capture, summaries and searchable memory | Omi AI pendant | Omi says its pendant can be worn on a cord, clip or wristband, captures conversations hands-free and connects to more than 1,000 apps. | Its published battery, regional availability and current checkout terms should be verified before purchase. |
| Existing Limitless customer looking for continuity | Keep the existing service, if eligible | Limitless says existing customers receive the Unlimited plan free. | The Pendant is no longer sold, and service is unavailable in several countries. |
Meta AI glasses: best for hands-free assistance
Meta’s glasses are the strongest alternative when the phrase “hands-free AI assistance” means asking questions, getting reminders, sending messages, taking calls, listening to audio or receiving help while your hands remain occupied. Meta’s May 2026 guide positions Oakley Meta HSTN as an everyday hands-free option. Meta also describes Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses as supporting voice-driven reminders, messages, quick answers, navigation and daily tasks, and says its glasses are sold through Amazon.

Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses
Use Ray-Ban Meta as the default Amazon-searchable phrase if you want a familiar glasses form factor with voice interaction and visual context. The important distinction from Bee is that the glasses are designed for immediate interaction while you are out in the world; they are not presented in the supplied specifications as a dedicated conversation-memory system with Bee’s summary and daily-memory feature set.
Typical use cases include asking for a quick answer while cooking, setting a reminder without reaching for a phone, sending a message while carrying something, handling a call, listening to music or a podcast, and requesting help related to what you are seeing. Meta’s descriptions support those task categories, but exact capabilities can vary by model, country, software release and account.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteMeta Ray-Ban Display
Meta says Ray-Ban Display adds notifications, navigation, answers and translation in the lens. This is the most direct fit if spoken responses alone are not enough and you want information presented in your view. A display can reduce the need to look down at a phone, but it also changes the privacy and attention equation: notifications may be personal, and visual features can make a wearable more noticeable to people nearby.
Oakley Meta HSTN
Meta’s May 2026 guide presents Oakley Meta HSTN as an everyday hands-free choice. Consider it when you prefer an athletic or sport-oriented frame style and want the assistant functions associated with Meta’s glasses family. The guide does not establish a universal battery figure or price for every configuration, so check the exact model and region before ordering.
Audio-focused Meta glasses
Meta also describes audio-only glasses aimed at calls, music, podcasts and hands-free AI. The 2026 Meta announcement lists up to 12 hours on one charge and up to 48 additional hours from the charging case for these glasses, and gives Meta Adventurer a starting price of $249. Those figures apply to the announcement’s specified audio-glasses offering; they should not be generalized to every Meta frame or future model.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.

When Meta glasses beat Bee
- You need immediate spoken answers or actions rather than an after-the-fact transcript.
- You want reminders, messages, calls or navigation while walking, commuting or working with your hands.
- You want visual context or, with Ray-Ban Display, information in the lens.
- You prefer a wearable that behaves like an assistant first and a recorder second.
When Meta glasses are the wrong fit
- Your main requirement is a searchable record of meetings and conversations.
- You want a discreet pendant or clip instead of eyewear.
- You need a desktop-oriented memory archive and task extraction as the central workflow.
- You are uncomfortable with a camera-equipped or display-equipped device in social settings; consider an audio-focused or camera-free design where available.
Omi AI pendant: closest Bee-like memory alternative
Omi is the closest researched substitute for Bee’s conversation-memory workflow. Omi says its pendant captures conversations hands-free and can be worn on a cord, clipped to clothing or attached to a wristband. It connects to more than 1,000 apps, including calendars, task managers and note tools. That combination makes it more suitable than ordinary smart glasses if your goal is to turn discussions into notes, tasks and a searchable personal record.
What Omi is designed to do
Omi’s value is the transition from spoken conversation to organized information. A hands-free capture device can be useful after a meeting, during a walk when ideas arrive, or whenever typing would interrupt the interaction. The practical question is not only whether it records, but whether the resulting summaries and tasks fit the tools you already use. Omi’s stated connections to calendars, task managers and note tools are therefore as important as the pendant itself.
Published pricing
Omi’s 2026 pricing page lists the pendant at a $179 list price and shows an automatic $50 discount at checkout, displaying $129. It also lists a free tier and an Unlimited plan at $269 per year. The displayed discount is a checkout offer, not a guaranteed permanent price. Verify the current amount, taxes, shipping, subscription terms and any affiliate conditions before buying.
Omi’s trade-offs
- Strength: its form factor is independent of glasses and its stated integrations cover more than 1,000 apps.
- Strength: cord, clip and wristband options let you place the microphone where it fits your routine.
- Unstated detail: the supplied product information does not establish a battery-life figure, charging-case capacity or universal offline behavior.
- Decision point: confirm how transcripts are retained, searched, exported and deleted before using it for sensitive conversations.
Limitless: historical context, not a safe new-buy default
Limitless was an important early example of a wearable built around conversation capture, but its current status makes it unsuitable as the default recommendation for a new purchase. Limitless’ service notice says that, as of December 5, 2025, the Pendant is no longer being sold. The same notice says service is unavailable in Brazil, China, the European Union, Israel, South Korea, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
Limitless says existing customers receive the Unlimited plan free. That policy helps people who already own the product, but it does not create a current retail path for someone starting from scratch. Availability and policy can change, so existing owners should check the company’s current notice for their country and account status before relying on the service.

Privacy and consent: the decision most buyers overlook
A device that hears speech all day creates obligations that a normal question-and-answer assistant may not. Before buying, establish what is captured, when capture begins, where audio is processed, how long transcripts remain, who can access the account and how deletion works. The supplied product descriptions establish that Bee and Omi are intended to capture conversations, while Meta’s visual products add camera or display considerations; they do not establish one universal retention or consent policy for every model.
Questions to answer for any device
- Is recording activated by a button, a wake word, an automatic mode or a continuing session?
- What visible or audible recording indicator can other people notice?
- Can you pause capture instantly without removing the device?
- Are audio files kept, or is only a transcript and summary retained?
- Can you search, export and permanently delete individual conversations?
- Which integrations receive summaries or tasks, and can those connections be revoked?
- Does the device require a phone connection, an account or a paid plan for core functions?
Consent in real conversations
Tell people when you are recording and follow the law and workplace policy that apply where you are. Rules differ by jurisdiction, and a meeting organizer may impose stricter requirements than local law. A visible indicator is not a substitute for permission. If a participant objects, pause or stop capture and take manual notes instead.
Camera and display etiquette
Audio-focused hardware can be preferable when you want less visual recording. Glasses with cameras or displays may be excellent for context but can make bystanders wonder whether they are being photographed or shown private information. Do not use visual features in locations that prohibit recording, and avoid displaying confidential messages where another person can see them.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Practical setup workflows
Set up Meta glasses for daily assistance
- Choose the exact Meta model first: visual glasses, Ray-Ban Display, Oakley Meta HSTN or an audio-focused configuration.
- Confirm that the model is sold and supported in your country and that your phone meets the current companion-app requirements.
- Configure voice access, notification behavior and the accounts used for messaging, calendars or navigation.
- Practice a small set of commands for reminders, messages, calls and quick answers before relying on the glasses in a busy situation.
- Decide when visual context is appropriate and when to disable or avoid it, especially around confidential documents or people who have not consented.
- Charge the glasses and, for models that use one, the charging case before a long day; published battery figures are model-specific.
Set up Omi as a conversation-memory tool
- Select the wearing method that keeps the microphone unobstructed: cord, clip or wristband.
- Create the Omi account and choose the least-privileged integrations you need, starting with one calendar, task manager or note tool.
- Review the free and Unlimited plan boundaries before importing sensitive material or depending on advanced features.
- Test a short, low-risk conversation and inspect the resulting transcript, summary and task extraction.
- Check how to correct an inaccurate name, remove a conversation and revoke an integration.
- Tell participants when capture is active, and pause the device whenever consent is unclear.
Set up Bee or Bee Eclipse
- Decide whether Bee Frontier’s wrist or clothing form factor or Bee Eclipse’s magnetic phone attachment better matches your day.
- Connect the Google, Alexa and Amazon.com services you actually use; add third-party services only when you understand what data they receive.
- If you subscribe to Bee Pro, enable only the features you need, such as daily memories, suggested to-dos, conversation templates or the desktop app.
- Use Voice Notes for a quick thought, then verify that the resulting note or task is stored where you expect.
- Review summaries for errors before treating an extracted to-do, name, date or commitment as authoritative.
Common failure modes and fixes
The assistant answers, but cannot complete the action
Check whether the requested action is supported in your country, model and account tier. A device may answer a question while lacking permission to send a message, change a calendar or access a third-party service. Reconnect the relevant integration and test with a simple, non-sensitive command.
Summaries omit an important detail
Ambient systems compress speech and can miss names, numbers, overlapping voices or technical terms. Treat every summary as a draft. Open the transcript, correct the source note and confirm the final task in the destination app before acting on it.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.

Battery does not match the headline claim
Published figures are maximum or model-specific claims. Continuous capture, calls, navigation, display use, temperature and a weak phone connection can reduce runtime. Compare your actual routine with the product’s stated test conditions, carry the charging case where applicable and avoid assuming that one model’s figure applies to another.
The device is uncomfortable or socially distracting
Change the wearing method or choose a different category. A pendant may be less visible than glasses; audio-only glasses may be less intrusive than a camera-equipped frame; glasses may be more convenient than a clip during a hands-busy task. The best alternative is the one you will keep with you and use transparently.
A service or product is unavailable in your country
Do not import hardware before confirming account creation, shipping, language support, app access and cloud availability. Limitless’ current notice demonstrates why a product that once looked broadly available may later stop accepting new hardware sales or restrict service by country.

Choose Meta AI glasses if…
- Your first question is, “Can it answer me or perform a simple task right now?”
- You want reminders, messages, calls, navigation, music or podcasts without taking out a phone.
- You value visual context or an in-lens display more than a searchable conversation archive.
- You are comfortable wearing glasses and managing the privacy expectations of voice, camera or display features.
Choose Omi if…
- Your first question is, “Can it turn this conversation into memory, notes and tasks?”
- You want cord, clip or wristband placement rather than eyewear.
- Your workflow depends on calendars, task managers and note tools, and Omi’s stated integrations match those tools.
- You are prepared to review retention, consent and subscription terms before recording other people.
Choose Bee if…
- You specifically want Amazon’s wearable and Alexa/Amazon.com ecosystem.
- Bee Frontier’s wrist or clothing format, or Bee Eclipse’s phone attachment, fits better than glasses or a pendant.
- You want Bee Pro features such as recent conversation summaries, daily memories, suggested to-dos, templates, a personal chat assistant and a desktop app.
- You have confirmed current hardware sales, pricing and service availability for your region.
Do not choose Limitless as a new purchase unless your status is already covered
Limitless’ own notice says the Pendant is no longer sold. Existing customers may continue under the stated free Unlimited policy, subject to the countries and account conditions in the current notice. New buyers should select a currently sold product instead.
A buying checklist for 2026
- Write down the single task you need most: live assistance, visual context or conversation memory.
- Identify whether you need glasses, a pendant, a clip, a wrist device or a phone attachment.
- Check the exact model’s battery claim, charging method and phone dependence; do not transfer figures between products.
- Calculate hardware cost plus any recurring plan. Omi’s published figures, for example, distinguish a free tier from a $269-per-year Unlimited plan.
- Confirm country availability, language support, shipping and account eligibility immediately before ordering.
- Read recording, retention, deletion and integration controls, then decide how you will obtain consent.
- Run a low-risk test, inspect the transcript or action and create a fallback workflow for missed details or a dead battery.
For most people seeking hands-free answers and actions, Meta AI glasses are the most defensible alternative to Amazon Bee, with Ray-Ban Meta as the practical Amazon-searchable starting point. For people who mean “hands-free memory” when they say Bee-like assistance, Omi is the closer match. Bee remains the direct Amazon option, while Limitless should be treated as an existing-customer case rather than a dependable new-buy recommendation.
