Best Alternatives to a Naim All-in-One Music System in 2026

For most buyers, the NAD C 3050 with the MDC2 BluOS-D module is the best value-led alternative to a Naim Uniti-style one-box system. It combines 100 watts per channel, an MM phono input, HDMI eARC and broad BluOS streaming in one chassis. Choose the Cambridge Audio Evo 150 SE if you need more power, balanced connectivity or high-resolution file support; the Arcam SA35 is the premium high-power choice. If you want the speakers included as well as the electronics, look at the KEF LS50 Wireless II or Triangle AIO Twin instead.

The important distinction is that a streaming amplifier still needs a pair of passive speakers. A complete wireless system, such as the KEF or Triangle, includes amplification and speakers, so it is closer to a true all-in-one setup.

What a Naim all-in-one system actually combines

Naim’s Mu-so Utopia illustrates the full all-in-one concept. Naim describes it as “the most sophisticated all-in-one audio system Naim has ever designed.” Its specification lists 720 watts total, 15 speaker drivers and Dolby Atmos compatibility, with AirPlay, Google Cast, Bluetooth, Spotify, Tidal and Qobuz support. Those figures and compatibility claims come from Naim’s product information rather than an independent laboratory test.

A Naim Uniti Atom-style system takes a different physical approach: the main box contains the network streamer, digital-to-analogue converter, preamplifier and power amplifier, while you supply the speakers. That arrangement is usually called a streaming amplifier. As What Hi-Fi? puts it, streaming amplifiers have amplification, DAC, connections and network technology built in, and need only a pair of speakers to start playing music.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Therefore, “alternative” can mean one of two things:

  • Streaming amplifier: one electronics box, plus passive speakers. This is the NAD, Cambridge Audio, Arcam and Technics route.
  • Complete wireless stereo system: electronics and speakers in the same product family, with no separate power amplifier required. This is the KEF or Triangle route.

Decide which format you want before comparing wattage or streaming services. A streaming amplifier gives you a path to change speakers later; a complete wireless system gives you fewer boxes and a simpler installation.

1. NAD C 3050 with MDC2 BluOS-D: the best value-led alternative

The NAD C 3050 with the MDC2 BluOS-D module is the most balanced substitute for a Uniti-style system when you want a conventional amplifier that can grow with your speakers. What Hi-Fi? labels it an Award-winning streaming amplifier and says it costs less than the premium Naim Uniti Atom. The combination of 100 watts per channel and a useful analog and digital input set covers the main sources in a modern living room.

Why it stands out

  • Vinyl: the built-in MM phono input accepts a moving-magnet turntable without an additional phono preamplifier.
  • Television: HDMI eARC provides a direct connection for a compatible TV and allows the TV remote to control basic volume functions.
  • Physical digital sources: USB Type A, optical and coaxial inputs cover common streamers, computers, disc transports and set-top boxes.
  • Network playback: BluOS, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer are listed among its supported platforms.

The NAD is particularly attractive if you want to choose passive speakers now and replace them later without discarding the streaming electronics. Its 100-watt rating is a useful comparison point, but wattage alone does not determine sound quality or whether a speaker is an easy load. Match the amplifier to the speakers’ impedance and sensitivity according to the speaker and amplifier documentation.

Who should choose it

Choose the NAD when your priorities are broad everyday connectivity, vinyl and TV integration, and a lower entry point than a premium Naim Uniti component. It is less compelling if balanced XLR input, the highest stated digital-file support or a larger power reserve is your primary requirement; the Cambridge Audio Evo 150 SE addresses those needs more directly.

2. Cambridge Audio Evo 150 SE: for power and high-resolution formats

The Cambridge Audio Evo 150 SE is the stronger fit when the specification sheet matters as much as the box count. It is rated at 150 watts per channel, the highest stated output among the streaming amplifiers in this comparison, and supports PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz plus DSD256. What Hi-Fi? reports that it offers broader connectivity and file support than the NAD in its comparison.

Connections and file support

  • MM phono: a direct input for a moving-magnet turntable.
  • Balanced XLR: useful when you have a compatible balanced source or want to preserve a balanced connection through the system.
  • HDMI ARC: a television connection; check your TV’s ARC implementation and audio-output settings before installation.
  • USB-B: a direct computer connection for supported audio playback.
  • High-resolution playback: up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256 are the figures stated by What Hi-Fi? for this model.

Those maximum formats describe what the digital section can accept; they do not mean every streaming service supplies music at those rates. A service, file, application and connection all have to support the format, and the amplifier may apply its own processing.

Who should choose it

Pick the Evo 150 SE if you use a computer or high-resolution library, need balanced input, or want more rated output than the NAD. It remains a passive-speaker system, so budget and space for suitable speakers and speaker cables. If your real priority is the smallest possible installation, a complete wireless system is a better match.

3. Arcam SA35: the premium high-power option

The Arcam SA35 is a 120-watt-per-channel Class G streaming amplifier. What Hi-Fi?’s 2026 guide says it finally usurped the position long held by Naim’s Uniti Atom. That is a guide’s ranking, not a universal measurement or guarantee that it will sound better in every room.

What the Class G design means for your decision

Class G is the amplifier topology used in the SA35; the practical buying question is whether its 120-watt rating and speaker compatibility suit your room and speakers. The SA35 is not a speaker system: you still need passive speakers, and the result depends on their sensitivity, impedance behavior, placement and the room.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Who should choose it

Choose the SA35 when you want a premium streaming-amplifier platform and have, or plan to buy, passive speakers that can benefit from substantial power. It is the least suitable option here for someone who wants an all-inclusive product with speakers already built in.

4. Technics SA-C600: the affordable CD-and-streaming route

The Technics SA-C600 is identified by What Hi-Fi? as a lower-cost streaming-amplifier alternative with an integrated CD player. It is useful when your collection still includes discs and you want one electronics box rather than a separate CD player, DAC and amplifier.

The supplied comparison does not state a power figure or provide a complete service list for the SA-C600, so those details should be verified in the current regional specification before purchase. You will also need passive speakers. Its appeal is specifically the combination of network amplification and a built-in CD mechanism, not a documented advantage in output power over the NAD, Cambridge Audio or Arcam.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

5. KEF LS50 Wireless II: a complete wireless system

The KEF LS50 Wireless II is the closest match for buyers who want amplification and speakers supplied as one coordinated system. It has built-in streaming and amplification, so there is no separate streaming amplifier to place in the rack and no passive-speaker amplifier pairing exercise.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Supported playback

What Hi-Fi? lists Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Bluetooth and Roon Ready support. That range covers subscription services, mobile-device casting, Bluetooth fallback and network playback through a Roon system.

The trade-off

The convenience comes with less freedom to change the amplifier independently of the speakers. You can position and configure the pair, but an upgrade later generally means replacing or supplementing the complete active-speaker system rather than swapping only passive speakers. Choose it when minimum box count and a controlled setup matter more than long-term component experimentation.

6. Triangle AIO Twin: complete system with a built-in phono stage

The Triangle AIO Twin is another complete stereo system rather than a separate streaming amplifier and passive-speaker package. Its listed features include Bluetooth aptX HD, network-file playback, Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz and Deezer, plus a built-in phono stage.

That phono stage makes the AIO Twin a practical option for a turntable owner who wants a compact system without an external phono box. Bluetooth aptX HD can be useful for a phone or tablet when network playback is inconvenient, while network files and the named services cover more permanent listening sources.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

As with the KEF, the system’s simplicity is also the limitation: the electronics and speakers are designed to work together, so you give up the passive-speaker upgrade path offered by the NAD, Cambridge Audio, Arcam and Technics options.

Streaming amplifier or complete wireless system?

Question Choose a streaming amplifier plus passive speakers when… Choose a complete wireless system when…
Future upgrades You want to change speakers without replacing the amplifier. You prefer a matched product and do not expect to change amplifier and speakers separately.
Room tuning You want to tailor the sound with different speaker designs, stands and placement. You want the manufacturer’s active-speaker package and a shorter setup process.
Sources You need several physical inputs, such as HDMI, phono, optical, coaxial or balanced connections. Your sources are mainly network services, casting and Bluetooth.
Subwoofer or system expansion You want to plan a system around a subwoofer and other components, subject to the model’s outputs and controls. You prefer an integrated active-speaker approach and will use the connections the system provides.
Installation You accept speaker cables and separate left/right passive speakers. You want the fewest electronics boxes and no external power amplifier.

Neither format is automatically higher quality. The right choice depends on whether flexibility or simplicity has greater value in your room and listening routine.

How to choose the right alternative

1. Decide whether you need passive speakers

If you already own good passive speakers, start with the NAD, Cambridge Audio, Arcam or Technics models and check their electrical compatibility. If you do not own speakers and want a finished stereo pair, start with the KEF LS50 Wireless II or Triangle AIO Twin. Do not buy a streaming amplifier expecting it to drive speakers without connecting a separate pair.

2. Match power to the room and speakers

Use the stated output ratings as one comparison, not as a ranking of sound quality: NAD 100 watts per channel, Arcam 120 watts per channel and Cambridge Audio 150 watts per channel. Check the speaker manufacturer’s recommended amplifier range, nominal impedance and sensitivity. Room size, listening distance and desired volume all affect the practical match, so a higher number is not automatically the safer or better choice.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Check the television connection

For a TV-centered system, the NAD’s HDMI eARC and the Cambridge Audio’s HDMI ARC are decisive features. Confirm which HDMI audio-return standard your television provides. ARC and eARC are not interchangeable in every implementation, and the TV may need its digital-audio output changed from a multichannel mode to a compatible setting for reliable stereo playback.

4. Check turntable requirements

A turntable with a moving-magnet cartridge can connect directly to the NAD, Cambridge Audio or Triangle models through their stated phono stages. If your turntable has a moving-coil cartridge, or already includes a built-in phono stage, verify the required input type before connecting it. A line-level output should not be plugged into an MM phono input unless the turntable’s phono stage can be bypassed and the correct line input is used.

5. Choose the software ecosystem

BluOS is central to the NAD’s network features. The NAD also lists AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer. The KEF lists Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Bluetooth and Roon Ready. Triangle lists Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, Bluetooth aptX HD and network files. Choose the platform that supports the services and local-library workflow you already use; a long list is not useful if your preferred service or control method is missing.

6. Compare file-format needs realistically

The Evo 150 SE’s stated ceiling of 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256 is relevant if you maintain a high-resolution local library or use a computer source that can deliver those formats. For ordinary streaming, service availability and app stability usually matter more than a maximum file-rate specification. Check the exact format path from your source application to the amplifier rather than assuming that a service’s highest tier automatically reaches the hardware’s maximum.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

7. Consider room correction only when documented

Room correction can be valuable, but the supplied comparisons do not establish a common room-correction specification across these models. Treat it as a model-specific feature to verify in the current manual, not as an assumed benefit of every streaming amplifier or wireless speaker.

Setup procedures for each system type

Streaming amplifier with passive speakers

  1. Place the amplifier where ventilation is unobstructed and close enough to the TV, turntable and network equipment for the required cables.
  2. Connect the left and right passive speakers to the amplifier’s speaker terminals, observing polarity at both ends. Switch the amplifier off while making connections.
  3. Connect your sources: HDMI ARC or eARC from the TV where supported, the MM phono input for a compatible turntable, and optical, coaxial, USB or balanced inputs as required by the model.
  4. Connect the amplifier to the network using the manufacturer’s setup process, then sign in to the services supported by the chosen platform.
  5. Select the correct input and start playback at low volume. If one channel is silent, check speaker polarity, terminal tightness, the selected input and the source’s output setting before increasing volume.

Complete wireless stereo system

  1. Position the left and right speakers on stable surfaces with clear space around their cabinets and a direct listening path.
  2. Connect the active speaker to power and link the second speaker using the supplied inter-speaker connection or the system’s pairing procedure.
  3. Install the current control application, complete network setup and add each streaming service you use.
  4. Pair Bluetooth only when you need a direct device connection; use network playback or casting for a fixed home installation when available.
  5. For a turntable on the Triangle AIO Twin, connect through its built-in phono stage and select the phono input. Confirm cartridge and grounding requirements in the turntable and speaker manuals.

Common problems and practical fixes

There is no sound from a streaming amplifier

  • Confirm that passive speakers are connected; a streaming amplifier cannot produce room sound by itself.
  • Check that the amplifier is on the intended input rather than HDMI, phono or a digital input with no active source.
  • Verify network status and the account login in the relevant streaming app.
  • For a TV, check that the cable is connected to the television’s ARC/eARC socket and that the TV output is set to a compatible audio mode.

The turntable sounds very quiet or distorted

That symptom usually indicates a mismatch between phono and line-level connections. A turntable without a phono stage belongs on an MM phono input when the cartridge is compatible. A turntable with its own phono preamp should normally use a line input with the built-in preamp enabled, or the preamp should be bypassed before using a phono input. Check the specific cartridge and input requirements rather than changing the volume to compensate.

A high-resolution file will not play

Confirm the file type, sample rate and bit depth, then check the playback application and connection. The Evo 150 SE’s 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD256 limits are maximum supported formats, not a promise that every USB application or network service will deliver them. A file can also fail because the service or software does not support its container or because the source is converting it before transmission.

Wireless speakers keep dropping out

Check that the system is connected to the intended home network, move the speakers away from obvious sources of interference, and update the control application or firmware if the manufacturer provides an update. If the issue affects only Bluetooth, test network playback separately; Bluetooth and Wi-Fi failures do not necessarily have the same cause.
