For most people, the best alternative depends on what you charge and where you use it. MagSafe versus Qi2: what you are actually buying
MagSafe is Apple’s branded magnetic system
MagSafe combines a ring of magnets with Apple’s charging and accessory specifications. Belkin describes MagSafe as Apple’s branded magnetic system. A certified MagSafe charger can provide the output Apple allows for a particular iPhone generation, provided the charger, cable and power source meet the requirements.

For iPhone 12 through iPhone 15, Belkin’s current product guide lists MagSafe charging at up to 15W. “Up to” is important: the phone controls the rate, and temperature, battery level, power adapter capacity and simultaneous loads can reduce it.
Qi2 is an open magnetic standard
Qi2 is maintained by the Wireless Power Consortium. Belkin defines a Qi2 charger as “the open magnetic charging standard from the Wireless Power Consortium, adopted from Apple’s MagSafe magnet design.” Qi2 uses magnetic alignment so the coils meet more reliably than with ordinary flat Qi charging, but a Qi2 label does not automatically mean Apple certification.
Qi2 products can be excellent alternatives because the magnetic alignment makes it easy to attach an iPhone and keep it centered. However, certification and output still matter. Belkin’s current guide positions Qi2 25W charging for iPhone 16 and later, while its table lists up to 15W MagSafe for iPhone 12–15. Check the exact iPhone model and the charger’s certification rather than assuming every Qi2 stand has the same speed.

“MagSafe-compatible” is not a single performance level
Retail listings use “MagSafe-compatible” for products with different designs and certifications. Some contain official MagSafe hardware, some use Qi2, and some simply hold an Apple puck. The phrase alone does not establish a wattage, whether an adapter is included, or whether the stand can charge an Apple Watch.
The four strongest alternatives

Spigen Mag Fit: a holder, not a charger

iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods: look for a true 3-in-1

Confirm the exact product configuration if you need all three devices charged at once.
Travel: minimize separate parts
For travel, count the charger, cable, wall adapter and plug adapters as one system. The ButterFly has the clearest travel specification in this comparison: approximately 2.25 × 1 inch folded, a reported 30W adapter and international plug adapters. A compact single-phone stand may pack smaller, but it can leave you carrying an additional Apple Watch charger and power brick.
Using an iPhone stand with StandBy
