Start with the official 1080p preset for your PC
The global AION 2 Steam listing identifies the game as a PC-only Unreal Engine 5 title and gives these compatibility tiers:

Both tiers list Windows 10/11 64-bit, DirectX 12, broadband internet, and 100 GB of available storage; Steam recommends an SSD. These specifications and preset labels are compatibility guidance, not a promise of a particular FPS or smoothness in every scene.
Regional listings use different preset wording
NC’s Korean PC download page also lists 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB recommended, DirectX 12, 100 GB available storage, and recommends an SSD. It specifies a GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB or Radeon RX 470 4 GB at minimum, and an RTX 2070 8 GB or Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB at recommended. Its FHD 1920×1080 simplified-graphics presets are Very Low at minimum and Normal at recommended. For the global Steam version, use Steam’s Low recommended preset rather than combining the two regional labels.

Use a low-end starting profile if the preset is not enough
Playnews offers a more granular profile aimed at PCs close to minimum requirements. It is one publisher’s recommendation, not an official NC configuration or a controlled performance test. Use it as a set of options to try, rather than assuming each change will produce a measurable FPS gain.

The guide recommends leaving the upscaler disabled at first, then trying it if more performance is needed. This keeps the initial changes focused on the listed graphics settings and scaling mode.

Other options in the guide
Playnews also suggests showing other players’ particle effects to Everyone, keeping volumetric fog On, setting ambient occlusion to NCAO, using Performance for water reflection, keeping the tier icon On, and setting identical player appearance Off. The guide does not provide independent measurements for the performance effect of these choices.

- Choose the official preset: At 1080p, start with Very Low if your PC is near the Steam minimum tier, or Low if it meets the recommended tier.
- Reduce costly detail: If performance remains poor, lower shadows, vegetation, clouds, effects, and mass-battle quality. The near-minimum profile also sets model quality, draw distance, shading, global illumination, reflections, post-processing, and anti-aliasing to Low.
- Try resolution scaling: Test Performance or Balanced scaling if you still need to reduce rendering load. The guide suggests leaving the upscaler off initially and trying it later if needed.
- Keep textures at Normal initially: The granular guide recommends this setting even for near-minimum PCs, so do not lower it automatically with every other option.
- Compare like with like: Change one setting or one related group at a time, then assess frame pacing and visual readability in the same area or activity. Busy scenes and mass battles may not behave like quieter locations.
Neither the official listings nor the guide quantifies the FPS change from individual settings. Treat the sequence as practical troubleshooting, not a ranked list of proven gains.

Check storage requirements without expecting an FPS fix
Steam and NC both list 100 GB of available storage and recommend an SSD. That is useful when checking whether you have room and suitable installation storage, but neither listing says an SSD will raise frame rates or resolve stuttering. The requirements and preset guidance may change with game updates, so check the listing for your region if you are installing later.
