For smooth AION 2 gameplay, start with the official Full HD compatibility preset for your PC’s hardware tier, then lower demanding graphics options gradually. If crowded fights are the problem, test character visibility before reducing mass-combat rendering: fewer effects can help reduce clutter, but hiding other players can cost you useful combat information.
Start with AION 2’s official Full HD preset
NC’s global support page lists Windows 10/11 64-bit and DirectX 12 as requirements. It recommends a preset for Full HD (FHD, or 1920 × 1080) compatibility based on the system tier—not a guaranteed frame rate or a promise that the game will run well at higher resolutions.

| Official hardware tier | Listed PC requirements | FHD starting preset |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i5-10500; 8 GB RAM; NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB); broadband internet; 100 GB available storage | Very Low |
| Recommended | AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-11700; 16 GB RAM; NVIDIA RTX 2070 (8 GB); broadband internet; 100 GB available storage | Low |
These are the publisher’s listed tiers, not measured performance results. The support page recommends an SSD. Check NC’s AION 2 system requirements for the full compatibility notes.
Lower demanding settings methodically
If the official starting preset still feels sluggish, reduce graphics load in small batches and compare how the game feels in both quiet areas and crowded combat. One recent third-party guide aimed at PCs near minimum requirements recommends lowering effects, mass battles, models, draw distance, shading, global illumination, reflections, post-processing, and anti-aliasing; it suggests very low vegetation, shadows, and clouds. It also recommends trying Performance or Balanced resolution scaling.

- Powered by Radeon RX 9070 XT
- WINDFORCE Cooling System
- Hawk Fan
- Server-grade Thermal Conductive Gel
- RGB Lighting
Treat that recipe as a starting point, not a universal best configuration: the recommendation is secondary guidance, not a controlled benchmark. Change one or a few options at a time so you can tell which change helps and whether the resulting image remains clear.
Check resolution scaling and upscaling separately
Guides disagree on what to enable first and on some menu details. Begin with scaling or upscaling disabled if you are unsure, then test one method at a time. Compare image sharpness as well as smoothness; the available guidance does not establish a best value for every GPU, resolution, or PC.
Set V-Sync and refresh rate for your display
One third-party guide suggests turning V-Sync off and using 60 Hz as a baseline. Those are editorial recommendations, not publisher-tested requirements. Match the refresh-rate setting to your display, and decide whether the possibility of screen tearing is acceptable to you.

Keep combat readable in large fights
Reducing the amount of mass-combat rendering may make a fight less demanding, but it can also make characters disappear from view. That can obscure enemy positions. A recent global-client settings analysis describes limiting other players’ particle effects as a different trade-off: it may reduce visual clutter while retaining their character models.
If you play PvP or rely on reading enemy movement, compare the two approaches in the kind of fight you actually play. Prioritize clear character silhouettes and useful combat information over minimizing every visual option.
Use NVIDIA features only as supported options, not FPS promises
NVIDIA has announced support in AION 2 for DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Frame Generation, and NVIDIA Reflex on supported GeForce configurations. That announcement does not establish a specific frame-rate increase, image-quality result, compatible model list, or benefit for every PC. If the options are available on your system, assess them individually rather than assuming that enabling them guarantees smoother play. Read NVIDIA’s AION 2 feature announcement.

Know what settings advice can—and cannot—tell you
The official requirements and recent settings guides do not provide controlled, comparable FPS measurements by graphics option or hardware configuration. They therefore cannot establish a universal best preset, a guaranteed FPS target, or a numeric gain from lowering a particular setting.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor a useful comparison, check the same kinds of conditions before and after a change: image clarity at your target resolution, smoothness and frame-time consistency in quiet areas and crowded fights, visibility of character models and effects, and whether your PC is closer to the official minimum or recommended tier. The guides offer qualitative starting points; your own workload and priorities determine which compromise is worthwhile.
Storage note
AION 2 lists 100 GB of required available storage and recommends an SSD. An SSD is a reasonable option if you need space for the installation or currently install games on a hard drive, but the cited requirements do not claim that an SSD raises rendered FPS.
