There is no published, benchmark-backed “best” Aion 2 preset for every PC. Start with NCSoft’s hardware tiers, then tune effects and player-particle display if crowded fights are hard to read or performance suffers. For input-sensitive PvP, weigh responsiveness against the smoother presentation frame generation may provide, rather than assuming one setting suits every activity.
Start with NCSoft’s published PC baseline
NCSoft’s requirements page gives graphics-preset guidance for FHD (1920 × 1080), not guaranteed frame rates. It lists Very Low for the minimum tier and Normal for the recommended tier. Use these as starting references, not promises of a particular FPS or proof that higher settings will run well on every system. See NCSoft’s Aion 2 requirements.

Steam’s Aion 2 system-requirements listing likewise says, “When using FHD resolution in-game, set the graphics preset to Very Low to ensure compatibility.” The listing describes the game as using Unreal Engine 5 and gives an October 5, 2026 release date; check the Steam listing for its current platform details.
Which settings should you adjust first?
Lower effects to reduce visual clutter
If combat effects obscure enemies or make a busy encounter difficult to follow, try reducing Effect Quality. A compilation drawing on two creator videos identifies it as a useful lever for both performance and visibility. That is community advice, not a controlled test showing a specific FPS improvement. The compilation is available at Aion 2 Guides’ settings page.

Choose how many player effects to display
The same compilation discusses player-particle display options. Self Only shows your own effects while hiding other players’ effects. Self and Party retains party effects but hides effects from more distant players, according to the compilation. Choose based on whether you need to read party actions or would rather clear more visual noise. The source reports creator recommendations; it does not establish one option as best for all encounters.
Treat frame generation as a latency trade-off
The compilation says frame generation can add input lag. Its creators recommend leaving it off in PvE and turning it on for mass PvP when smoothness is the priority. That is a situational recommendation, not a measured guarantee. If precise, immediate input matters most to you, test with it off; if large-scale PvP looks less smooth, compare with it on and decide whether the visual benefit is worth the latency trade-off.

How to tune resolution and image quality
Resolution scale, upscaling, shadows, effects, and particle handling are not settled by a single consensus preset. The reviewed guides propose different values, and they do not provide comparable controlled results. Lowering rendered resolution or using upscaling may reduce GPU workload, but can make the image less clear; changing shadows or effects can also alter how scenes look. Compare the advice in All Things How’s settings guide and Overgear’s settings guide as separate recommendations, not as evidence of a universally validated configuration.
- Record your starting point: note your GPU, resolution, current game build, and whether you are tuning for PvE, small-scale PvP, or mass PvP.
- Begin at the relevant baseline: use NCSoft’s FHD preset note as a reference for the minimum or recommended hardware tier; do not assume the tier predicts an exact frame rate.
- Change one setting at a time: try Effect Quality or player-particle display first if effects obscure combat or crowded scenes are difficult to run.
- Compare in a repeatable scene: revisit the same location or activity after each change. Judge both smoothness and whether you can still see the information you need.
- Test frame generation separately: compare responsiveness and perceived smoothness in the activity you actually play, rather than carrying a PvP choice into every mode.
- Recheck after updates: a new game build can change how settings behave, so treat a previous configuration as a starting point rather than a permanent rule.
When should you consider a hardware upgrade?
Compare your PC with the published requirements before concluding that settings alone are the issue. NCSoft’s recommended graphics tier names an RTX 2070 8 GB or Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB, alongside a Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7-11700 and 16 GB RAM. Those are the publisher’s recommended specifications, not a guarantee of performance or a recommendation to buy those now-older card models. If your hardware is below the listed tier, it may be worth evaluating your whole system; a graphics-card change is not automatically necessary just because you want clearer combat or a different preset.

Why there is no universal “best” preset
The available sources do not publish independently measured Aion 2 graphics benchmarks that support a reliable FPS promise. NCSoft’s table specifies hardware and preset notes, while third-party guides offer settings advice without a common test setup. Your preferred balance also depends on whether you value image detail, visible combat effects, low input latency, or smoother-looking mass PvP most. Use the published baseline, make controlled changes on your own PC, and keep the configuration that best fits your resolution and play mode.
