The Fortnite Item Shop shows its rotation time in your local time zone, and an individual item’s description can show its planned departure date. That date tells you when the item is scheduled to leave—not when it will return. Cosmetics are priced in V-Bucks; cash pack costs and shop offers can vary by region and change over time, so check the live shop and your platform’s purchase screen before spending.
When does the Fortnite Item Shop reset?
Epic removed the Shop’s overall refresh timer and now displays the rotation time in each player’s unique time zone. That means a single reset hour quoted online may not match what you see. Check the rotation time displayed in your own Shop. Epic described this change in its April 9, 2024 Shop and Locker update.

How long will an item stay in the Fortnite Item Shop?
Look at the cosmetic’s individual description page for its planned rotation-out date. Epic said these dates would be added to item descriptions beginning in late May 2024. The displayed date is a planned departure, not a promise about when the cosmetic will appear again. Epic has not established a guaranteed return schedule for a particular item, so treat the live listing as the source for its current availability.

The Shop lists cosmetic prices in V-Bucks. Prices differ by item, and bundles may show a discounted total alongside an original total. One accessed shop snapshot, for example, displayed a featured bundle for 2,400 V-Bucks against an original total of 7,300; that was a temporary listing, not a standard price or a current offer.

Before comparing a bundle with individual cosmetics, check the final amount charged and the items actually included. A displayed discount or original total does not determine whether the bundle is worth it for you. Set your own budget and use the current listing rather than an old screenshot.
Do not rely on old rarity-color tiers to predict what an item should cost. Epic’s 2024 update said it retired the old Battle Royale-inspired cosmetic color tiers and names as expressions of quality. Named series, including Icon Series and Gaming Legends Series, remained.

How much do V-Bucks cost?
Epic announced the following US-dollar V-Bucks pack prices, effective March 19, 2026. They are examples of cash-to-currency pack tiers, not fixed real-money prices for individual cosmetics. Epic notes that regional values can differ.
| V-Bucks pack | Announced US price |
|---|---|
| 800 V-Bucks | $8.99 |
| 2,400 V-Bucks | $22.99 |
| 4,500 V-Bucks | $36.99 |
| 12,500 V-Bucks | $89.99 |
These prices come from Epic’s March 10, 2026 announcement. Your regional price and final amount may differ, so verify the current offer in the platform storefront where you plan to buy.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

Can you buy only the V-Bucks you need?
Epic announced purchases in 50-V-Buck increments, which can help players top up a smaller shortfall rather than buying a larger pack. Its example: if you have 400 V-Bucks and an item costs 500, you could buy the missing 100. The September 11, 2025 announcement named Xbox, Nintendo, PC, Android, iPhones, iPads, and Fortnite’s web Item Shop, and said availability would expand. Check your purchase flow to see whether the option is available on your platform.

Epic’s September 7, 2022 purchase update described cancellation of an in-game cosmetic bought with V-Bucks until the item was equipped during gameplay or 24 hours had passed, whichever came first. That dated description is not a complete statement of current return eligibility. For current instructions and conditions, use Epic’s cancellation and return guidance.
