The Lenovo Tab One is the clearest compact, standard-Android option to consider if you want a modern tablet in the spirit of the Verizon Ellipsis 7. For a Verizon-connected, larger-screen alternative, look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G. Amazon’s Fire HD 8 (2024) is another compact choice, but it runs Fire OS rather than the standard Google Play version of Android. Verizon says the Ellipsis 7 is no longer available.
What to look for in an Ellipsis 7 replacement
The Ellipsis 7, listed by Verizon as the “Quanta Ellipsis 7,” was a conventional Android tablet with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, app management and USB file transfer. Its historical user guide describes installing apps through Google Play or other sources; that documentation does not establish current compatibility or security support. Verizon’s product page says the device is no longer available, while its support guide documents the older device’s features.

- Storage and support: Compare internal storage and expansion options, and check the manufacturer’s stated software-support policy for the specific model.

Best compact standard-Android option: Lenovo Tab One
The Lenovo Tab One is the most straightforward fit if you want a small tablet that uses standard Android rather than Fire OS. Lenovo lists an 8.7-inch HD display with a 1340 × 800 resolution, so it is larger than the Ellipsis 7’s nominal seven-inch class. Lenovo also says OS upgrades are available through Android 15 and that the tablet receives two years of security patches. Those are the support terms Lenovo publishes; check the product listing for the exact model and current terms when buying. See Lenovo’s Tab One product page.

Compact budget alternative: Amazon Fire HD 8 (2024)
Amazon’s Fire HD 8 (2024, 12th Generation) has an 8-inch, 1280 × 800 IPS display, with configurations offering 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. See Amazon’s Fire tablet device specifications.

- High Performance - This tablet runs on Android 15 and is powered by an Allwinner A333 penta-core processor with 24GB (4+20) RAM, delivering swift operation and smooth multitasking
The key tradeoff is software: Amazon specifies Fire OS 8 and identifies Android 11/API 30, but Fire OS is Amazon’s system, not the standard Google Play experience. Check Amazon’s app store for every essential app before choosing this tablet. It is a plausible size-near alternative if the apps you need are available in Amazon’s ecosystem; do not treat it as interchangeable with a standard Android tablet.
Older possibility: Lenovo Tab M7 Gen 3
The Tab M7 Gen 3 is an Android tablet, and Lenovo’s product search listing describes Android 11 Go Edition. The available product information does not establish current inventory, price or continued software support. Treat it as a used or remaining-stock possibility, not a current first-choice recommendation. Check the seller, device condition, exact model, update status and return policy before buying. See Lenovo’s Tab M7 Gen 3 product page.
How to choose

- Want a compact alternative and your apps are available from Amazon? Compare Fire HD 8 configurations, keeping its Fire OS ecosystem in mind.
- Considering a used or clearance tablet? The Tab M7 Gen 3 may be an option only if its condition, seller support and software status work for you.
